Superman (talking about the film) is gonna become 50 years old in 2028! Next year on February, they are doing the film with my local symphony orchestra! Hopefully I get to see it!

DC also did a comic adaptation of Superman IV - The Quest for Peace. Official title of that issue is "Superman IV Movie Special." 68-pages on newsprint, saddle-stiched (stapled). It sold for 2.00 USD; 2.65 CAD; 0.80 GBP and went on sale in the Summer of 1987. There are 3 editions known: Direct Sales, Newsstand, and Canadian. Coincidentally I bought my only copy earlier this year, I had never owned it. Longtime collector of Superman comics, as a youth I was buying SM, Action, and World's Finest primarily between 1974 and 1980.

An amazing (and quite affordable) find. I would think it will provide further insights into the making of this classic film. Over time, its shortcomings have taken on an endearing quality and in retrospect it provides a "story arc" when compared to the other three (or should I say four--or even five, with "Supergirl") Christopher Reeve Superman films. Reeve remains the "gold standard" in terms of Superman actors.

Hey Super-Andy... great video!!! Loved hearing how Superman III was your film because that's the one you saw in the theatre. Mine was Superman II because I wore out the VHS as a kid and I would say Superman IV because that is the first one I saw in the theatre. Only as I've gotten older that perhaps the first film became the favourite because of what it is. Thank you for sharing. :)
