How To Cook On A Wood Cook Stove. My Homestead Life, The Bradshaw Family
We have to consciously practice gratitude, I am trying to be okay living in a construction zone, we only have to make yourself happy
God is so cool in how He directs us.
that He is!
Well, happy Tuesday! I'm only 3 days late this time!
better late than never!
Better late than never! Happy Sunday! I worked Thanksgiving, bah humbug! Generators, ug--post hurricane it makes you a target. Solar panels only for me. Consider a blog post on solar. Info on that is seriously limited, for on grid & off. So glad to hear you are singing in the church Timmy!
Yes, I need to write some articles on those.
Hind sight is 20/20 .. I thank God for unanswered prayers. He keeps me going. When I get annoyed at stuff not going "my" way, I pray Thy Will be done here on earth. I try to see the best in everything.
that's not always easy to do, but it sure does make a difference!
Listening in. Roosters need a new winter shelter, so started getting my stuff together early...
thanks for joining us!
Agree. I cant people currently. Work stresses me out (12+ hrs dementia unit in nursing homes).
Morning. Stepped away from the live stream & just got back to reheat my coffee.. 😊.
Hey SIL, it has been beautiful here with great fall colors 😊
😊 Glad I saw the chat. I pray to be able to send $$ to that region. I'm still getting ready for a Wisc winter (I'll be roughing it, but I'll be ok).
Sometimes all we are called to do is pray- He needs prayer warriors as much as those who give money. Thank you for joining us!
Yes You can make lye from wood ash. Its a very long process but possible if you don't have any other resources. Drain-O is lye as well. We do render cow fat (tallow) and pig fat (lard) for oil. I taught a class on making tallow soap this summer. Its a great soap! Actually you can use any animal fat. My friend makes deer fat soap too! Nice thinking outside of the box 😊
I read that you can make lye by pouring water through wood fire ashes. You could use tallow for the oil. Just ideas for the coming hard times.😊
Whodda thunk there'd be such DrAmA in the homesteading community? Lawdy!
I know - right?
I’m a Long Island refugee living on a mountain east of the Smokies. Not off grid but preparing… Glad to find ya’ll!
HI neighbor!! I'm glad you found us too! Join us on Saturday's for coffee!
You guys are not scammers. Known you for 25 years.
thank you sweet friend.
Yep, I ignore everything I see like this but when I saw it was you I got out the credit card. I got scammed. Thankfully I was able to stop it fast and I only lost a few bucks.
I am so sorry. I'm glad you stopped it before it got worse.
I'm sorry this happened to you 😢
Good morning
@@lindaturner5677 morning sister!
I’ve done just a bit of vinegar making with apple scraps and other fruit. Some worked well, some not so well. But fun to learn.
I go to ER, then get admitted n told I have 3-6 months to live, changes your perspective. Oncologist said with treatment 2-5 yrs!!! If it works. Jersey due, harvest coming in thankfully keeping me distracted. But God is good, I'm happy
If you figure out the mint extract thing, please be sure to pass it along.
This was excellent! I'm crying. Thank you for addressing this.❤ (Melissa P)

And I am Dad. Hi kids❤
Hi Dad!!
Is that book actually yours?
Learning over the years, prevention of health issues starts with daily, weekly & monthly tinctures, infusions & teas. Seasonal routine seems to helps the most.. I need to make & force myself to take fire cider, lol.
I've recently started my apothacary cabinet. Found a couple nice herbal books. Been following "she's of the woods" in the north west (Oregon or Washington).
I only trust in the Lord Jesus .. I've been gently guided over the past year😊
Just catching you both. It's been a crazy year 😞
The Occ........cold remedy in the little tube really does work. Keep that on hand as well.
Oh yes, the onion fermented with honey is wonderful, as well as garlic fermented in honey.
I've been ordering from Frontier for years for those things I can't grow or harvest myself. Love them!
Love seeing my jewelweed, but that means the poison ivy is near by.😢
Off the top of my head, I keep Willow Bark tincture, Fire Cider on hand along with dried rose hips and elderberries on hand for tea.
those are great additions!
Hi! Good morning! Missed your live. Was outside before the rain comes today.
dont blame you! We've been doing the same for two weeks!
Here is the link for our Elderberry Syrup Recipe myhomesteadlife.com/fresh-elderberry-syrup-recipe/
Some of us are new to this type lifestyle, so we don't know a lot, so thank you everyone for the help
Hang in there.😊
I got kicked off fb so many times during covid, I am amazed what they are allowing now
I guess I didn't miss it
I missed it again! Man. I’m gonna need to set an alarm on Saturdays.
Its all good 😂

Hi kids. Love you bunches. Will be great to see you in a few days
❤good morning !!!
Good morning !! Around here we call it piss oak.
P r o m o S M
Nurse RatchetHA HA HAAA! Aw. men are just babies😉 but so am I. Truly.
Great topic! I learned from experience, fresh wood chip piles do catch fire. I had 4 side by side. The middle 2 started to smolder in only 2 days.
We live in Ohio and we got to see the northern lights the best at 10 pm last night so you wouldn't have to be up all night to see them and it is soooo worth it! Love watching y'all! Happy mother's day Amber! 🌹
My wood antique wood cook stove needs repair, so I use a Franklin stove to cook (saves $$). My old farm had a pressure tank/hot water heater plumbed into it. That was great (I was concerned about the safety of it though).
We have wood stoves we use for heat and heat our pots of food on them too.
I had my 1st fire in my stove yesterday. Steak, fried potatoes & yes, I saved the bacon grease😉 .. Can't beat a great meal. @@myhomesteadlife
