As an ex-depressed person, I want to take a moment to appreciate how genius this game is, regarding depression, anxiety, motivation, and self love. I was very lucky to get the good ending naturally, but I want to describe a few things that helped me get there: I learned in real life that it is NOT a good idea to be a quitter, or choose to NOT go after what you deeply want in life, because you're scared of messing up, scared of what people will think, or feeling like you won't be good enough. That is self-sabotage, and it is literally the cause of depression. You are not full-filling your own soul's wishes, and choosing the "safe" route or lazy/easy route every time. And if you're stuck in this loop, you still probably wonder "Why am I here? What is the point? Why is everything against me? Life Sucks". Depression. Every "day" in this game, I chose for Sunny to open the door and go outside. During the final fights in the end, I chose to keep fighting and "CONTINUE" instead of "Do Not Continue" or even Alt-F4'ing out of the game because "this battle is hard, that's enough for today." No, I was invested, and CHOSE to have Sunny save his friend Basil, who has proven to be truly there for Sunny. The writers of this game are brilliant, literally putting the player to the test to see how much resolve, persistence, or laziness they have, and adjust the consequences or rewards accordingly. There's choosing to stay in your own head and imagination, and there's choosing to act in real life instead (Sunny vs Omori routes) There's also the dark, monstrous shadows (SOMETHING) looming over Basil and Omori. Both these characters are carrying their own demons, but it's not the demons causing their problems, it's themselves, letting their demons take control. To me, I personally learned a long time ago, after I started focusing on making harder decisions, that depression was actually a dark cloud, constantly following me, and eventually looming over my head IF I had stopped making the decisions that would move me forward in life. If I "stayed where I was" or made the easy/lazy choice to do nothing or do very little effort, instead of the harder, more risky/important choice, then depression would creep in. Whereas if I went on a streak of making the harder choices, and doing the things I WANTED to do, and said the things I WANTED to say, then depression would fade away, and life would get much better for me, and my day-to-day mood and amount of energy would improve. I'm telling you, it would LITERALLY IMPROVE if I stopped hesitating to do the things I wanted so much. The depression rain cloud is ALWAYS there, so some days, I really feel it still sometimes, but I'm telling you, I am doing much better than I was 8 or 9 years ago. So I love how this game shows that you can push these SOMETHING demons away when you put in effort towards what your soul is egging you on to really do in life. Chances are, if you're reading this, you have stuff you already know you need to do, but you have just been putting them off, or avoiding it. You need to stop. You need to just starting doing what you've been putting off for a long time, and see the result, enjoy what you've learned, accept that you might mess up, but then move on and keep doing more things you want to do. Stop the empty routine, stop being in your own head, and imagining things so much. If you are busy THINKING, then you are not DOING. It's okay to think, and imagine stuff, fanticize, or strategize, but doing it too much, your life will whiz by, and you'll see the people around you have advanced so far past you, and you're wondering why you're still in the same place you're seem to be stuck at. (Because you think too much instead of DO. So "DO" more, and "Think" less, and watch how you learn and grow as a person. Let yourself make mistakes, embarass yourself, get hurt, or else you will never move forward or learn things/level up, or even face the next "boss fight" in life. You live in "Headspace" too much.) Life gets better, and you will ALWAYS get "good endings" when you stop feeling sorry for yourself, stop talking yourself out of doing things, and instead choose to ACT, PERSIST, and FIGHT for what you really want to do. You already know what it is, so do it, no matter how hard you think it is, the suffering you will face later from never overcoming your fears will be much harder, and you'll just be an enclosed Omori instead of a life-fulfilled Sunny. Your happiness is YOUR responsibility, no one else's. Nobody is going to come and save you, you can only save yourself. Both Sunny and Basil have so much love and support from their loving friends and family, but clearly that isn't enough to keep them from offing themselves. They have to be strong on the inside, and CHOOSE to fight and live past their demons and own self-inflicted wounds and negative thoughts. Thanks for reading if you get this far. fifteen hours? fucking speedran. the playthrough i watched was TWENTY SIX. welp either way goated game

10 hours in, really good gameplay so far, just some things i haven’t really liked so far. im not gonna bash you too hard but a lot of the puzzles you did DEFINITELY could’ve taken a much shorter amount of time, before you finished most i had already figured out the solution but again, not everyone is good with puzzles. also, you NEED to use the run button more, especially in areas we’ve already seen, its good for a first time though that area but if we’re revisiting a place, there’s no need to go so slow. though other than that, THANK GOD I CAN ACTUALLY *READ* THE DIALOGUE, SO MANY LETS PLAYERS DONT DO THAT AND I THANK YOU VERY MUCH. anyways that’s about it, hope this can help if you are reading this, video creator.
