Dr. Horne, do you know what "deti" means? It is the Russian word for Children. The one thing that all countries care about and share about (usually) is children. I learned Russian to get to know those people. I grew up in the Cold War. The house I bought has a 1940s bomb shelter, built to protect us against Russian bombs. I am not Russiaphobic and not Islamiphobic. I am phobic about military men, but only the 50% of them who like war and can't wait to put on a uniform entitling them to murder, rape, eat for free, get clothes, transportation and beer too!!!! Wow. You are one of the most intelligent people i have discovered. And yet none of you cwn help me figure out out to control the 50% of men who like war (until they experience it). The playwright David Rabe pointed out this seemingly eternal issue of war: "War will never end until women understand that men Like war." But he doesn't offer a solution. However, his plays suggest that we need to get rid of racism and sexiism. But HOW? Can we turn war into Competition. And I don't mean money. Women like war games and competition ae much as men. Cherokee try reducing conflict by playing a war game, Stickball. They play Men vs. Men; Men vs. Women, and Men vs. Children. But it plays by the best rules. When women and children play, the men are not permitted to hurt them. I guess it is sorta like horse racing -- the weaker the horse, the girls, get to carry less weight. It becomes a real contest of right over might. What if we had real organized contests between Russians and Americans, say, to see who could grow the most watermelons? The surplus would then go to the neediest, hungriest.To stop exploitation is to change the narrative. People who help, not hurt, must eliminate the hurters in both deed and word. We do some of that, but not well enough. Christianity, Islam, indigenous people: They all have part of the answers. Philosophy has some. (Aristotle said MUSIC must be taught to teach feelings (empathy as Compassion. Well sure! If we put music back in schools and required it, we could stop some school shooters!?). Money tries to be the answer, but it has obviously failed. It is just a tool for long-distance barter, but it fails at that even. Jews and Arabs can't make it work very well because Arabs don't want to use interest. Good people use it, but its use needs analysis. I don't have answers. I think we need all the intelligent people we can get yo think about this issue, even though it seems impossible: how can we end war? War of the sexes, war of the races, war of the religions, the species? The native tribes solved war, though not perfectly. So maybe we need to study them again. Our Constitution and government was based upon the solutions used by native Americans. The 5 big tribes up north had a big peace conference; the Cherokee had a big peace conference, and other tribes often made peace. Why not us?

Excellent historical analysis from Dr Gerald Horne as always. I wonder how many Black people in the USA know or knew that the Russian fleet sailed into ports on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts during the civil war 1861 - 1865 in support of the Lincoln government effectively siding with abolitionists? 🤔 It is exactly for this reason alone that Black Americans should be outraged at the mistreatment of Russia on the world stage and we know many Black Americans understand this because they rushed to enlist to aid Abyssinia against Italy but were blocked by the US government, with only two Tuskegee airmen managing to arrive in Ethiopia but after that they were instrumental in the formation of Ethiopian Airways. In any case it is the responsibility of all decent people who have access to the knowledge that Dr Gerald Horne has shared with us to spread it as far and wide as possible in the hope of averting global catastrophe.
