Congrats 👏
Thankyou
I was always so afraid to forage for mushrooms. I learned that only 2% of mushrooms are poisonous. It's so easy to identify poisonous look a likes, and when in doubt throw it out. I did a lot of reading, and forage my own mushroom's now. I found out that it's way easier than I thought, and am upset that there is such a negative stigma around it. Yes you have to do your research, but you can just pick one species at a time. When out foraging you will see other mushrooms that will peak your interest then you go home and do more research. I post a picture of a mushroom and everyone just tells me im going to die... I guess I don't mind too much, more mushrooms for me :)
Thank you so much. I'm thankful you watched my video
Soooo,,,, I know the parasol as a choice edible. (It took me years to trust my ID, gut glad I did)! But even if it was the “shaggy parasol, aren’t they still edible for 90% of the people? (Not confusing the “Vomiter, green spored Aminita”, those are def no-go!
Yes just making sure properly identifying the different parasol mushrooms😁
Made tincture of it to sell but can't sell it!! This tincture is just SUPERB!! Just the fragrance of is AMAZING and the flavor plus it has taken all bone and join pains away, taking 3 oz a day with celtic salt and honey and oh boy!! Can't describe it how amazing it is. Sorry, I only belive in energy (not god) but I do agree on the benefits of this amazing plant!
Thanks for watching
Thank you for this fabulous video and you said in your video that the bug infested parasol you'll save it for it's spores and the edge line of the forrest. What do you mean by that please? I'm enjoying my parasol now. Thanks again.
I lay them gill side down in my yard. So I can get parasol mushroom on my own ground. I had my first couple this year.
❤🙏🙏
I love hunting ginseng. Don't get out as much as I used to...but always enjoy God's beautiful creation!
Me too!!
Ever tried washing the roots up like veggies gardening?
No I didn't 🤔
Perhaps you have videos that just tell how to prepare them...let me know. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
Cooking videos🤔? Sounds good!
Im ngl i swear we look alot alike lol or at least i think so i seen this video and the thumbnail i was like is that me 😂 haha but good video loving these hunts
😆
Give the parasol nipple a good rub to know it's 👍
The best part is getting away from the wife and kids ! Coffee's good too 👍
Hey sarge how are you doing
Good hbu
Watching from Florence S.C. I'd like to learn more.
Like what? I love content ideas 💡?
My grandfather used to go pluck the leaves off younger sang so poachers dont dig them.
Yes a wonderful tactic
I’ve heard that “old times” Ginseng hunters will eat those berries and spit out the clean seeds into likely areas to promote growth. Have you done that, and what do they taste like?
No I haven't. But the seeds need to be stratified. I have successfully moved small ginseng plants to different areas.
It gives a little bit of energy I eat every single berry and plant the seeds. It takes 2 years to stratify if I'm correct. 2 winters then they sprout but I also buy a half pound of already stratified seeds to sow while I hunt.
Thanks for your awesome videos! Who knewww such an amazing thing was right beneath my feet my whole life! I've been reading and it seems as though the leaves contain higher concentrations of the invigorating compounds than the roots.. do you utilize them as well and if not, why not?!
I use the whole plant actually. It's more to just stay healthy and get back into shape. Get a tea ball and try it out. Go easy on it too!
Keep the great videos coming.
Thankyou
As long as there’s other plants for deer to eat, it seems like they leave the sang alone. But this fall is going to be hard on the plants. We need some rain, bad!
Agreed. Very badly.
I'm in north central Pa. and having the 2nd best season since 1969. I do see a lot of counties in the south were very dry/lack of rain and their season is about over. I still have another cpl or few weeks left here unless a cold front with high winds come in that is.
I have goot hundreds of these things spinging up in my caragana bushes in southern alberta, some 10 to 12 inches across. A kootney mushroom forum identified them as shaggy parasol. Cooked one up with olive oil crushed garlic, roasted red pepper flakes and sea salt. Omg, they are delicious. The stem turned red when cut too.
Yes!! Definitely shaggy! Orange to red bruising! I get them in my yard. Love them. Remember to sub and share!
It also will not have the snake skin like pattern on the stem
@@chuckgrove8516 awesome thanks Chuck. Subbed, 👍
Chiggers: feliz navidad feliz navidad
A quick tip, just snip off the edible top with a pair of scissors. Leave the stem and the dirt behind ! I stopped using a knife some years ago. Give it a try.
Definitely! Thanks!

I keep checking my spot, but none and they seem to get smaller each year. Waiting for the black trumpets also. Weather seems to make them not flourish when it is too dry.
Yep. Dry season this year. Really hurt my content
