My family and I discovered the handwritten score for this piece by Chicago big band leader and composer Frank Westphal in a stack of my grandfather's old trumpet music in the summer of 2024. It's an original score, named for my great grandmother Anne, and commissioned by my great grandfather Rufus for their son (and my grandfather) Joseph. My "Big Grandpa" Rufus, also a trumpet player, lived to be 103 so I am thankful to have had the chance to have a relationship with him before his passing.
