    My only argument is that 5% organic matter is the ideal organic matter content. That would be after 4-7 years of decayed organic matter in high quantities and composting excessively to get 5% organic matter. When you use container garden methods the organic matter is confined and paired with a set amount of soil volume which in turn would create a higher percent of organic matter to soil ratio. But on average, land soil that is farmed is only at 1.5% organic matter due to non regenerative farming practices. Otherwise.... I really enjoyed your video.

    Thanks for the video, it has taught me some interesting things. Although it's pretty ironic that, in the beginning, you stress the importance of the scientific name over the common name for clarity's sake, and then continue for the rest of the video to use the common names for the families. English isn't my first language so I needed to translate all the name to look up the scientific names😅

    I don't understand, why not add more clay to sandy soil and vice versa, instead of organic matter?

    • @ReachingRoots
      @ReachingRoots 11 месяцев назад

      It is quite hard to add clay and sand, since they are heavy and it would take a lot of volume. Organic matter is lighter and holds a substantial amount of water per percentage in the soil.
