Is absolutely a scam. I payd $100 for a direct lead. So did another 3 contractors. Thumbtack mabe $400 with one lead one contractor took the job. Is not a scam? Let me tell you another one( this is more recent after they’r changes ) Customer direct lead me and another 2 contractors. I pay $140. I go to meet with the owner. He doesn’t show up and the house is brand new construction nobody moved in. Customer do not answer anymore. I am waiting for tomorrow to see how customer service are going to pull this one

I left Thumbtack yrs ago and recently returned hoping for better results, only to find it's worse than before. I charge an average of $148 per session, yet Thumbtack charges me over $90 per lead. It's absurd that I'm paying almost as much as I charge for a session, especially when many leads don't convert into bookings or repeat clients. I've been charged over $180+ for leads where one client couldn't afford services, and another didn't respond. This feels like I'm working for Thumbtack, not myself. It's a nonsensical setup where Thumbtack profits while professionals like me lose out. I currently working on a full refund for these misleading and expensive leads. This experience has been unacceptable, and I strongly advise against using Thumbtack for any professional services.

They charge me 80 bucks for 2 leads 😢 but the job trade I do paid much so I get it but just take ya cars off so they won't charge all the time
