    • @tacticaldenpodcast
      @tacticaldenpodcast 8 дней назад

      @@Ghost-Op6 i run a 16inch rifle because i only have the one and the hydra works fine. But it all depends on what you use it for. CQB is what i mainly train for, but the hydra can hit out to 200yrds no problem. (Ar15s with red dots shouldnt be shooting past that anyway). I would say for an all purpose one, do a unity 2.6 fast riser and a red dot with a magnifier. Or an lpvo with a standard mount

  • @Ghost-Op6
    @Ghost-Op6 8 дней назад

    Ppl need to realize it’s only for CQB. Longer barrels greater distance shots you don’t want this height over bore really translates over the distance you should get lower mount optics if your rifles isn’t for CQB/home defense

    2:05 Sticking your support arm straight out and locking it isn't ergonomically or mechanically sound! You should try and move your support hand back a little so your support elbow will point down more to the ground. I've been considering getting the hydra mount, and now I'm more tempted with the v2 that dropped. Did the company that made the knock off have the Eotech option or just the aimpoint footprint? Reason I ask is that when i emailed GBRS to see if my optic would work with the mount they weren't sure. I think the person I was speaking with at GBRS was a little confused/not familiar with the LCO. I have a Leupold LCO and didn't want to buy a expensive paperweight if it wont work with my optic/ir. The LCO is slightly shorter than the Eotech and I was worried that when my laser was mounted it would block my sight picture. So Id like to try the knock off first and see if it will even work.

    Yeah see this is why SEALs are so unpopular amongst the rest of the military. I’ve worked with both seals and GBs in combat zones, and seals are fucking retarded. You want to take the extra two seconds to retain a mag because you might be somewhere that you can’t get resupplied. Seals don’t operate very long, therefore they can afford to just drop a mag because they aren’t going to be in any kind of prolonged engagement. Now let’s say you’re a regular old grunt like myself, and I’m miles away from any sort of supply chain, and I’m only getting airdropped the essentials, food, water and ammo. That’s the issue with the seals giving advice, and people’s opinions altogether. We are taught mag retention for a reason

      @@tacticaldenpodcast I know you said you do, but you ever run around and lay in the prone with a bunch of used mags in your pockets, I’ve lost more mags than I care to count. I personally don’t have a dump pouch because I’m a machine gunner now, but I definitely would argue the juice is worth the squeeze, I’ve never seen anyone get hung up from a dump pouch, dudes are rocking all kinds of kit candy, which I’m not opposed to, but a lot of these guys talking about getting hemmed up by a dump pouch seems disingenuous, as they will have all kinds of shit on their kits that could just as easily get “Snagged”

      @@tacticaldenpodcast and the noise discipline thing is not a great argument either. You’re already kinetic, and even if it’s a CQB situation where you want to go silent for the next room, your kit is still gonna rattle and make sounds ever so slightly, it’s not like you’re pounding feet making the mags in the pouch jostle like crazy. We are literally splitting hairs. The Army and special operations especially don’t just start doing shit if it doesn’t make sense, if there’s one things the military does well is it’s being effective, especially if it’s special operations. I don’t typically take advice from seals because they are highly highly specialized, like I said, they can afford to just ditch mags because they won’t be in an engagement for very long, they aren’t gonna be rolling on prolonged multiple objectives with resupplies being picky, they just don’t operate on the same level

      @@elijahhamilton4097 ya man, thats a good point. I have yet to lose a mag from a pocket, but have lost them from my dump pouch. Diferent experiances lead to diferent ways to set up your kit.

      @@tacticaldenpodcast what kind of pockets are you using, because I’m wearing OCPs with baggy ass cargo pockets that can’t hold anything for shit. You gotta stop listening to these seals on podcasts man, they aren’t giving good advice, they are giving advice about kit when they operate completely different than majority of the military. You’re gonna lose mags and get smoked by your team leader, I’ve had it happen. I lost mags on a field op, we got ammo resupply, I couldn’t run a full load out, which oust everyone at risk, and I got fucked up in the snow for it.

    Remember you signed paperwork not to be an idiot in uniform. These were largely used in the Middle East because the enemy was booby trapping mags and killing us on recovery.

    To each their own. Me personally, Id like to not die in a firefight, so the only mags that matter enough to recollect are my last two. The first few can be lost in action.
