RTI .45 ACP US WWII Ammo Unboxing
Unboxing a crate of US WWII .45 ACP ammo. Originally made in 1943 at the Evansville Ordnance Plant, Sunbeam Division (the same place that made your kitchen mixer), this ammo was “repacked” in 1944 in 50 round cardboard boxes, 600 rounds to a can. This particular shipment of ammo was imported from Ethiopia by Royal Tiger Imports, along with the now well-known slew of old milsurp weapons. What may be the broadest haul in milsurp history, in terms of the array of weapons found, this ammo looks as good as the day it was made.

Llama M-82 - My holiest of Grails!
Просмотров 4 тыс.3 года назад
I vividly remember the moment that started me on this journey of interest and curiosity, not only in firearms but history in general.. and that’s when I first saw the cover of a Spanish gun magazine called “Armas” with a Llama M-82 on the cover. Many years later I was finally able to land the original gun for me. Here’s my overview.
Star Megastar - a .45 ACP masterpiece
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
The Star 28 series of pistols are the best representation of the company’s gun making capabilities. From the 28 through the 30M, 31P and ending in the model 50, known as the appropriately named Megastar. This is my breakdown of this .45 ACP Spanish achievement and a window in to why I like it so much.
Girsan Bora Light 9mm - Another quality pistol out of Turkey!

My countertop review of a Girsan made Yavuz 16 9x19mm handgun, sold in the USA as a “Bora Light.” I bought this one sale May 2021 from CDNN sight unseen, so we’re getting to know it together in this video. I haven’t seen any other reviews in English, so maybe this will be of help to others in the US who are considering this high quality mutation of a Girsan Regard… or, more precisely, a Beretta...
C&R Collecting in COVID - Chilean DWM Mod. 1895 Mauser in 7.62

Another find during the pandemic - Mauser modelo 1895 made by DWM for Chile, later converted to 7.62x51mm by that nation. Listed as “Good-Incomplete”, it compliments the Loewe 1895 I got a few weeks earlier from the same source. I like it!
Luger - Range time with well-travelled curio

First range session with the Imperial German vía Israel Luger. No major issues, aside from the magazine catch allowing the mag to back out slightly when fired. Fired GECO 124 grain CIP spec and Herters 115 grain “Retail spec” just fine. This is what C&R collecting is about!
C&R Collecting in COVID - Luger with a mysterious past

Another of my additions during the COVID chaos - a Luger. My first one, I chose to finally pull the trigger on this Luger for a couple of reasons: proven provenance from Israel, and the unusual aluminum grips. As a bonus, it appears this pistol left Germany between World Wars and never went back. If it could speak, Ágata would it tell us??

Carcano Unboxing - M91 Moschetto

Unboxing of Carcano M91 Moschetto “Cavalry” carbine bought from DK Firearms. Interesting coincidence of events between COVID and Italian milsurp becoming available, but it’s a great time to jump in for those who’ve never had the pleasure of being in this hobby in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s. This carbine is slightly better than the M91/24 I received from them a few weeks ago, which in itself w...

No where to be found, especially on Gunbroker.
I also became enamored with this firearm from the same magazine as you..........but unlike you, I have been looking for one forever and have come up dry.....maybe someday.....
I was just singing the praises of Spanish engineers last night! The trains arrive on time there.
M2 = 1992. Only 664 were made in 45. I wonder how many were imported to have the had the Interarms stamp? I'm expecting to receive my Starvel 45 very soon which has a Interams logo misstamping which was rectified at the factory by linishing it out and restamping it over the top, 1/4" further on. It is still visible when you look closely, making this one a very unusual variation. As my blued 10 and 45 also from 1992, my guesses are that Interarms had them early on in their production, and I'm looking forward receiving my Starvel finished one to see what the year of manufacture will be.

Can you do a complete disassembly and cleaning video I just recently got one and want to clean it really good but don’t want to brake something from not know how to take it apart peace by peace

Absolutely love it… it’s a shame our gun laws suck and the ones in the civilian market here are modified to use the 308 instead of 7.62z
Ive read some people claim online that this can shoot .45 super but I cant confirm if thats official or not.
Based on how hefty it is, I’d not be surprised

Do standard Beretta 92 magazines fit the M87?
Yes 100%
@tafino Thanks mate 🙂🇦🇺
Part of the reason this is a confusing review is because you refer to one as a Girsan rather than "Regard" and the other as a "Bora Light." Obviously they're both made by the same manufacturer but it makes it sound like you possibly have two different manufacturers in front of you.
How does recoil compare to a standard 1911?
Llama with a M belly was blue then with white cover it became a French rooster

Do you ever get hammer slap...i.see the bevertail is almost none...
Nope. Not one bit. Very nice shooter.
Thank you! Just bought a crate (2 cans) of this from RTI, and can’t believe how awesome of condition the cans and the crate are! If you plan on shooting any of it, do be sure to clean your firearm thoroughly with soap and water or other product designed to remove the salts, as the primers are corrosive.
What's the cost range of one like this in this condition? @anyone :)
Well, before Ian they were $350-500, after Ian they’re $750-1000. And @forgottenweapons only did the video a couple months ago
Very cool...thanks for sharing!
For sure! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
@2:54 haha! 😂😂😂😂
Any idea on how to remove the firing pin and the rear sight?

Hey, I have a question about something you said - do Para Ordnance 14 round mags work in the Megastar? If not, is it possible to make them work with modification? Thanks. Great video, by the way
Hey Alex - though I haven’t tried them, I don’t think they’ll work because there are different angles involved. For giggles I’ll try it to be sure.
@@tafino Thank you! Interested to hear how it goes
@@tafino Hi - any update?

I wonder if one of the Magguts kits will work to add capacity? I too read about the P14 mag working in these. I already ordered one so I guess I'll be seeing for myself. Might have to buy a p14 since it looks like I'll have a mag lol.
I have a M28 and a M30M, both fantastic pistols! Looking at buying a M50 Megastar .45 right now.
There are 3 or 4 right now on gun broker.
Beautiful and cool design!
So far the Best Review for this litle know handgun it's design and characteristics were quite obscure for people here in RUclips wish i could have one of this really Nice gun and not only My llama 45 stoeger but llama company is already defunct now. Thank you very much ! I appreciate your kind comments
Fantastic!!! Complimenti anche per la Beretta 92s ex Polizia italiana e per la Omni .ciao un caro saluto dall' Italia 🇮🇹👋👋👋
I built one of these 7 years ago from a CMP receiver and Beretta/Breda/CMP parts. $600 my cost thanks to the CMP parts I bought 25 years ago cheap.
Should spray it down with automative grade penetrating oil. Should let you restore that beauty back to its original luster.
I have the same gun, love the thing. Its a great piece, found one early and didnt realize what a gem it was and didnt take care of it. Now, I need to update some internal parts
Really good video.
Is it safe to fire? I've heard it's not
I’ve read about soldered chamber inserts and the like, but I have not seen hard evidence. I’ve fired mine with full power 7.62x51 loads at my own risk many times. No issues.
@@tafino never tried running 308 through it?
@@cult8625 nah… never felt the need to. I personally wouldn’t be concerned though.
This rifle is NOT an 1893 model! DWM did not exist until 1897. It is an 1895 Chilean mauser.

Just got one. Mine doesn't have a mag disconnect! I wonder when/if they changed it
Likely someone did. This was common practice with Spanish armorers on the 30 series - just pop off the disconnect. Check on the inside frame for a void opposite the sear. Either way, don’t need it.
I've read were the absence of the mag disconnect makes the trigger better... can anyone confirm?
Do you know of any documentation anywhere on these. I'm a machinist that also has a m82 and am very tempted to try to make a type G conversion. Scared to take apart a saftey/decocker with 0 knowledge of what's in there. I assume it's built like a berreta but I don't want to kill my rare pistol
Oh man… you’ve got better odds of finding the Arc of the Covenant. I’m in the exact same situation with my M87 and the muzzle brake. It’s probably a simple drifting out of a pin - but what if it’s not and I break the thing ?!
@@tafino i took down a colt gold cup match awhile ago with 0 reading beacuse I've made 1911s from blocks of steel before. I KNOW WHAT I'M GOING. turns out there's extra parts in the gold cup match trigger and they're super tiny. Lots of hunting for a thing smaller than a grain of rice that I sent flying
@@tafino I should buy a normal m9 beacuse I don't have one to compare for any potential modifiable parts or anything useful you could use off one. I'd kill for a threaded barrel of a m87 barrel I could thread
Don't... Buy a Beretta... Why alter a piece of history? I really hope you didn't
@@BOB-wx3fq making extra parts isn't some kind of history crime
What's in your 3 dot sights? Is it just paint? Mine was well used over in Spain and all the paint or whatever was there is gone I was also surprised by how great the trigger was. Almost scared of light strikes
Looks like a Beretta 92 and a sig226 had a love child in turkey. It just beautiful 😍
I'm also an idiot collecting Spanish guns. I just got a llama m82 after a lot of hunting. There's no way this thing fits in m9 holsters if there? I'm trying to find a good retention holster for it beacuse I'm insane. Would kill for whatever holster the Spanish are using
Nice!! A tough find. In terms of the correct holster - I suggest you contact shops in Spain if so inclined. I have never seen a proper Spanish milspec holster stateside for the M82.
@@tafino oddly enough I'm finding Israeli holsters
@@javi_730 good info. I assumed they used the um84 but didn't know. Would kill to get that spanish holster
@@javi_730 being in the usa i just got a normal American surplus m84 holster
As mentioned before, any GI holster would look the part, since we used a clone of the Bianchi (quite bad quality, since the plastic part degraded in a few years, but newer ones are somewhat better) in the pattern needed. Older holsters (for the Star B or even older) were routinely used, with or without integral spare mag pouch. As for retention holsters, any Beretta 92 model from makers like Blackhawk or Safariland work perfectly well with the Llama. My unit still has the Llama, and we use a local-made clone of the service Safariland level 3 clone. But some people use their own holsters, with or without extra security level, including Israeli-made Orpaz and Blackhawk Serpa. No ND from those in the last decade :-P
Berretta/Stoger Cougar clone
I got one... The mega star is a one of kind gun
That is the truth !
So I bought one of these and I thought I was buying a Bora light however mine says Bora only. I've seen this gun in several videos now and some say light and some do not on the slide. So I'm assuming that I got the all steel version, correct me if I'm wrong. Does anyone have the weight and slide length on both of these pistols. I'm assuming that the light is the aluminum frame and shorter than the Bora. This is a very nice pistol and fills your hand well it seems heavy but I've been carrying a P938 and a G3C regularly so it would but it overloads my scale so I can't get a weight on it. Lol. So I did the magnet test and the frame is aluminum so I'm guessing the slides are the same only some are marked light. No matter it's a hell of a gun and I'm glad to add it to my collection.
I thought it was sharkskin at first but aluminum does work well, definitely could tell a tale if it could. Interesting weapon nice find. Did anything come up in the last year any further information on it ?
