Multiple Regression
An example of how to do multiple regression in SPSS. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows.
Use multiple regression when you want to use more than one variable (independent/predictor variable) to predict another (dependent/criterion variable).

Simple Regression
An example of how to do a simple regression in SPSS. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use a simple regression when you want to use one variable (predictor/independent variable) to predict another (criterion/dependent variable).
Correlation
An example of how to do a correlation in SPSS. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use a correlation when you want to understand the relationship between two continuous variables.
Two-Way Mixed ANOVA
An example of how to do a mixed analysis of variance. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use a mixed ANOVA when you have at least one within-subject independent variable (same participants in each level) and at least one between-subject independent variable (different participants in each level).
Two-Way Between-Subjects ANOVA
An example of how to do a two-way between-subjects analysis of variance. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use a two-way between-subjects ANOVA when you have two between-subject independent variables. Between-subjects variables are variables in which there are different participants in each level/group/condition.
ANCOVA
An example of how to an analysis of covariance. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use ANCOVA when you have a covariate. This is a variable that is likely to affect the dependent variable but that you are not explicitly interested in examining; it is a variable that you want to control for.
RM ANOVA
An example of how to do a repeated measures analysis of variance. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use a repeated measures ANOVA when you have a within-subjects independent variable (one in which the same participants are in each level/condition/group). This is similar to a dependent samples t-test, which is limited to two lev...
Linear Trend Analysis
An example of how to do a linear trend analysis within a one-way between-subjects analysis of variance. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. A linear trend analysis is a special analysis that can be done when you have an ordinal independent variable.
One Way ANOVA
An example of how to do a one way analysis of variance. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is mostly the same on SPSS for Windows (one difference in the output, described in video). Use a one way ANOVA when you have a between-groups independent variable with more than 2 groups/conditions/levels.
Paired Samples T Test
An example of how to do a paired samples t test. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use a paired samples t test when you want to compare two conditions, in which the same participants are in each condition, on a variable.
Independent Samples T Test
An example of how to do an independent samples t test. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use an independent samples t test when you want to compare two different groups of participants on a variable.
One Sample T Test
An example of how to do a one sample t test. This demonstration uses the macOS version of SPSS, but the procedure is the same on SPSS for Windows. Use a one sample t test when you want to compare a single sample to a known population value.
Homogeneity of Variance
A short explanation of the assumption of homogeneity of variance, including an example of how to use it determine which values to use from an independent samples t test.
Normality
A short explanation of the assumption of normality, including an example of how to interpret skewness and kurtosis values.
What is Assumption Testing?
A short explanation of assumption testing and why we need to concern ourselves with it.

p>.05 null hypothesis accepted, p<.05 null hypothesis rejected (in case of no significant difference)

Is it a problem if the between subject factor is not significant

No, it's never a problem! It just means that there is no significant difference between the groups/conditions/levels of the independent variable. You would conclude that the results support the null hypothesis.
