Track Limits were WAY more forgiving back then and had WAY more room for error.

oh definitely, as a JPM fan i love those early 2000s Williams machines. although, i can't seem to find reliable mods for them unfortunately. UGH sorry! This track is the best Lusail for accuracy as far as i can tell but the "TV Camera" angles are so bad! A lot of times the cam was just straight up in the wall -_- As much as i like this track i won't use it again for vids like this.

⁠@@MokiF1-y8uyou should download camtool 2, there are some modders who make the accurate tv camera angles using it

i've seen a MP4-23 floating around but i'm not sure i'd trust its accuracy versus a car from VRC again it's not like i'm Verstappen anyways so it wouldn't be a huge deal, but keeping both cars by the same modder seemed like a good idea

@@MokiF1-y8u You have a point about the accuracy... But it would be interesting. Yet, in real life, 08 cars can't be the 05 V10s.

Sure, but can i ask how you mean exactly? Do you mean like an onboard and trackside view side by side, or playe done after the other? Also as a side note, the trackside camera was really bad at this track. As you saw, the camera was changing position all the time and i had to cut out certain sections i wanted to use because the camera was facing the wall.

also 2005 had the advantages of being in a tire war but also had the disadvantage of one tire set having to last Quali *and* the Race so most likely tires overall were a little more conservative

And let’s not forget no tire changes this season as well so the race lap times were down as well compare 2004 or 2003 to 2007 because 05 the fia was making an effort to slower the cars down

@@ado_1255 in my experience it's been VERY solid. It's just got such a small community though and my #1 memory was lots of rubber banding around during races since the community is largely EU based (well, that part of the world anyways)

@@ado_1255 oh well in that case i say go for it. it's free so that's a huge boost. they also let you test drive any car before you buy. plus, plenty of beginner friendly features like ideal line. i'd say it's the perfect sim to start out on from that alone.

@@testwill23. That's a fair critique but it's more about F1's FFB versus other games, and given the C5's positive reputation as far as pure FFB goes I thought it was a fair medium point

@@ccramit oh definitely, I had to do that with the G29 as well. 2023 and 2024 were fine though and I have tried 2022 since this and it was also fine, definitely just a 2019 problem. Although I have yet to try 2017/18 to see if it's the same as 2019

Thank you for your input! I think Ocon is easily a B tier, but from my perspective it seemed like he was intentionally not doing as well as he could for a lot of the season (other than brazil) due to all the drama, which to me pips him down more than if he was just plain not as good.

Yeah i was basing that off research i did a while back that showed me their times were fairly similar, which was incorrect. I must have only found outliers for example Monza and Yas Marina. Otherwise you're correct the 2013 cars wiped the floor with them.

Which track and car mods did you use?

Verstappen gained 13s when comparing his 2020 pole vs his 2021 pole, the pole position in 2015 was a 1:40.2 so I think these cars would be capable of at least doing a 1:29 or even lower.

@@hamdanali2036 That's what I was saying? The 2015 pole was a 1:40, so a 2015 car in the 2024 layout probably does a 1:28-29 pole time.

Thank you! I really only liked 2014-15 since there were so many different designs out and about and the cars were more slippery and hard to handle, making the races more exciting to watch (if you ignored Mercedes)

@@MokiF1-y8u idk if you have the W11. If so, it will be pretty neat to drive it around a circuit it's never been to.

@@nubRas10 The W11 was a one of a kind car, i'd love to try it on a few of the new circuits. I have both the RSS 2020 car (the highest quality Formula 1 mod for that year) as well as a standalone W11 mod, a cool vid might be trying both of them on a new circuit!

Oh man, i have no idea on that one. Technically i don't think that should be possible, the DRS should close if you're on the brakes. My guess would be something to do with your pedal/wheel setup, easiest thing is ofc just unplugging and plugging everything back in (with the game off) or setting up your controls from scratch, i've had to do that before to fix pedal calibration

​@@MokiF1-y8u Yeah thats what I thought aswell, the DRS should close but idk. It works just fine on the 2023 version and all other cars aswell. I've tried playing with the settings but that did nothing. I will try the unplugging everything one right away and hopefully that changes things. Thanks for the advice anyways. 👍

awww cmon, surely the ferrari drama kept you leaving!... although i cant deny that the mercedes dominant speed made it less fun to watch from the front, but there was a lot going on behind them!

@ the race started at 2am for me. Lewis was fast, the mercedes can really make the tyres work
