So I’m on Amazon and they come across this product that I have never seen before…. And it’s this product that you just used in the video. I really think this might benefit me. I’ve used a Netty pot before Netty bottle with the salt packets, but I really think this stuff you put in this thing is going really do so much more!! ❤❤❤ and it’s not expensive although depending on how many bottles you go through a month. I’m gonna give it a shot because I can’t breathe through my nose and it’s really trying. I have humongous nasal turbinates, and it’s not very fun. The doctor did a reduction on them, but it did not work. He said he could do it again in the hospital, while under anesthetic so I would be put out. I was afraid to try it because meanwhile I learned about empty nose syndrome and I do not want that problem. It’s a terrible problem and my heart goes out to anyone and everyone who has it. This poor people wanna offer themselves and sometimes do because it is such a horrendous problem. Thanks for the instructions. I’m going to place an order.❤❤❤😊
That was very helpful, thank you.
super helpful thank you
A review would only be helpful and accurate if you used it for at least a few weeks or a month
Hey, I’m Georg and 3 years ago I injured my voice while singing. For about 2 years I haven’t been able to talk without pain and swelling feeling at all so I’ve not talked at all. I’ve consulted with my doctors and they’ve told me to exercise speaking regularly even if there’s pain but I want to spread my story to get second opinions. I used to sing a lot for several years before my injury. Some days even about 3 hours a day. Went to singing school sometimes, learn a bit of the (CVT vocal technique) One evening, I started to sing and my voice was not that great that day and I also drank a milk product before what causes my throat to produce a lot of mucus and thick feeling. I tried to sing one high note, but I couldn't reach it, so I squeezed my neck and vocal chords to get that high note and that’s how I injured my voice. From that day on my vocal injury has gone worse to the point that for 2 years now, I haven’t been speaking at all. Just a couple of words in one year. The reason for it is now when I speak, my vocal chords and thyroid area get “swollen” and painful(nerve pinching pain). I put swollen in brackets, because I’ve been to a laryngoscope and the camera didn’t detect any swelling in my vocal chords when they looked at it. And also they didn’t find anything other than couple of granulomas(not on the vocal chords) which could have been caused by some food intolerance. The vocal chords were just weak and atrophied.
Going back to 2021 when I firstly injured my voice. The symptoms then were similar, there was the swelling feeling, and nerve pain. (it’s really weird to me that there was no swelling detected on camera, because when I get the swelling feeling, my whole throat feels so swollen. I even got a thyroid ultrasound, but nothing was detected there) So back then, basically I still could use my voice after the injury. So I had to not speak for a couple of weeks and then the swelling feeling went away. And I could practice again and talk. But as time went on. The swelling came back and back. I gave it more and more rest, to make the swelling go away.(one doctor back then even said that don’t stop speaking, but for me it didn’t make sense cause my throat felt so swollen and nerve pinching pain was quite bad). So I gave it more and more rest and as the time went on, about a year from the injury, I could only speak about 20 minutes a day. And it was difficult to avoid the swelling feeling and pain away, so I gave it more and more rest, until it became so bad that last year I couldn’t even laugh and this swelling feeling came back. It has since got minimally better now, but still I can only laugh about 5 times a day or less. My question is, if I start to practice again and ignore the swelling feeling in my throat and the nerve pain, would it injure me even more. That’s what I’m worried about. If someone told me that “100%, you will not injure your voice more when practicing through the pain”, then I would start. The last doctor said exactly that, but I needed to get a second opinion somewhere else, because I’m scared to injure my vocal chords even worse, to the point that I could lose my vocal chords forever. Thank you for reading it the whole way through and I would love to hear your opinion! Thank you in advance! :)
I got a cheap copy off eBay for 15 bucks and honestly, it works great!
thank you
Sadly, poor music sound for such an advanced audio project. . wish it was better. but thanks for reaction.
Thank you. Great video.
Thank you! ❤
Thank you for demonstrating. After I almost choked, I thought I better see how to do it properly!
Thank you!
Doesn’t read the instructions, starts singing into it 😂
This is great! Will this also help with phlegm around the larynx? I often feel some gunk. Any advice.
I’m a 52 year old male I had sinus surgery last year When I feel post nasal drip starting I use alkalol 40% alkalol 60% saline but I use the squeeze bottle. I just warm up a Poland spring bottle and add 2 saline packages. Works for me.
Thanks 💐❤️
Thank u! My Alkalol box has no directions.
Thank you for the demonstration. So many people talk about it without showing us how it works. Great help!
Excellent video, Thank you !!!
bless you for making this demo. i am ready to try it now.
i also sing and reached the point of desperation. wanted to give this a try. this is perfect. great demo. thank you.
Thank you so much for these videos, they are really usefull!!! Please keep it up
Omg. My husband was trying to drown me using it😂. I told him I don’t think you’re doing it right. I said I’m going on RUclips and find out the correct way‼️. Thank you so much‼️‼️‼️😘
I’m certainly glad you were still here to tell the tale😊!!
Crystal's stroboscope costs thousands of dollars because medical pros need to be accurate and precise to do their jobs. Endoscope from any number of online vendors for $40 or less, with or without a camera, might do the trick as well with less accuracy and precision. Crystal's model seems to have a 90-degree mirror attachment at the very end so it looks down her throat. If Crystal were to have better control over gag reflex, she might have dangled a flexible stroboscope tube over the epiglottis and hoped for the cords to show up on screen. I'm not a doctor, either, so don't take these comments as medical advice or use these tools to check yourself or anyone else!
The smaller mask is for children and the larger mask is for adults.
I’m adding this to my daily’s. Thanks!
Thank you for these wonderful vocal exercises. I look forward to noticing a minimized break over time.
I have been using the Breather for more than a year, it is really good. The only drawback is the coaching software, it is really poor. I became so frustrated with the software I deleted from my phone.
Same!!!!!
Thank you for your video! It helped a lot!!
Really good demonstration. Thank you! I can't take decongestants so I usually just use a neti pot with salone, but I think I'll give this a try.
I could hear the difference in your speaking voice......more resonance... and relaxation in your articulators (fellow voice coach here). Also knowing about the straw, I bet they are both good.....if used sparingly and not replacing a more organic general approach. As someone who plays harmonica. I know how that's helped strengthen my singing. And the straw creates change....but always suspect some resistance device would help.
Oh hey thanks for the feedback. You're right it probably helped incrementally, similar to kazoo or harmonica work, but it didn't feel MORE effective for SINGERS (which a lot of the coments here didn't understand was my scope of practice, lol) than any of those other, much less expensive options. My concern is that it could lead to overblowing/overpressurizing the airflow which could actually damage the voice and throw the voice/air pressure dynamic out of whack. Which is why I don't recommend it for singers, and especially injured voice users, unless they are using it under supervision of an SLP or a vocal coach who really understands the physics and the delicate balance of pressures for various voice tasks.
@@CrystalVoiceStudio Just for clarification, I was speaking of how harmonica in particular had helped my singing (I'm a singer primarily. But I really appreciate your explanation here. I still so curious about this thing that I may order one and try it. I teach singing....and always have prefered an organic natural approach. Also one learns so much from what doesn't work:) Anyway ....all makes sense what you are saying, thanks for the reply.
what about heavy mouth breathing after intense pop singer dancer show like lady gaga katy perry how to calm heavy mouth breathing?
You can get the exact same thing. Just a different brand name for $25-$30 . If you buy that one you’re getting ripped off.
You can actually get it for about $6, most of these are dropshipped.
Can you drop a link? Please
Thanks
What about the vocal cords, does this help as a gargle?
When you gargle, whatever you are using won't reach the vocal folds, it just stays in the back of your mouth. It may help a bit with throat mucus, but won't get all the way down. But if you use it as directed regularly, it should reduce the amount of post nasal drip that drops onto your vocal folds, reducing the mucus that way. Hope that helps!
I use this at the least amount and it really helps. I just can’t get it to drip out the other side. I noticed you filled the cup up all the way. Maybe that’s what I need to do. I do both sides but I guess not enough of water and Alkalol. Thank you for showing us.
I didn’t get the cup so I’m gonna have to use the bottle that I have I put some castor oil in my nose yesterday and it kind of helped
I just watched a video where a woman poured it in her hand a snorted it like cocaine.
i love this
I do like to tilt my head back. I have to read up if there is actually a way that liquid can go into the ears. I didn't think it did.
Thank you for this! Exactly what I thought before I watched this is what you confirmed. You can use straws and get the same results. If a singer is breathing incorrectly this tool is NOT smart to advise them to get. If they’re a singer who has good breathing but is looking to expand their support or range, it would be useful for them. Thank you for this review. Short and concise 🙌🏽
YES! You will be doing more of whatever you are already doing. So if you are pointing at the wrong target already could make things a WHOLE lot worse!
A straw isn’t adjustable.
Great information!
The breather voice seriously injured my throat. I cannot sing anymore and my voice may never be the same. I purchased it because it sounded like an amazing way to enhance my already skilled voice by helping me to increase the strength of my diaphragm and overall vocal strength. Instead, on my SECOND time using it on the LOWEST setting along with the guidance of the app, this device created some sort of air pocket or airflow issue that I still can’t fully explain, damaging my throat muscles. Now, for the past two months, I have a lump in my throat, a constant feeling of pressure on my airway, a clicking sound when I swallow, pain, and an inability to speak above a low volume, let alone sing. I paid $60 to have my voice DESTROYED in under 5 minutes. This product is dangerous and should come with warnings. I am still paying out the nose to doctors visits to try and determine the damage that was done and try to fix it, but I am devastated beyond belief and whatever this thing did to my voice is not healing. If you are a singer DO NOT RISK YOUR VOICE. I want everyone looking at this to know that it can actually hurt you.
Annalise I am so sorry to hear this and thank you for sharing. I hope you are getting excellent medical care with a laryngologist (not just an ENT). If you need help finding a doctor, please feel free to reach out to me and I can try to connect you to someone in my network. This sounds just awful.
Go to a laryngologist and stop posting on Reddit and RUclips
I think you have other medical issues.
I feel like you’re approaching this product incorrectly. This device isn’t meant to be a singing tool, but rather a way to strengthen your breathing muscles which would indirectly improve your breathing while singing. It’s like if a person was a boxer and they were told, “Hey if you lift weights you’ll be a stronger fighter,” so they went to a gym and started grabbing dumbbells and boxing with them. Like yes shadow boxing is a real exercise and can improve your strength (kind of like how you singing into the Breather does provide some resistance and therefore technically will improve your strength). However the intended method is to strengthen your muscles through a training regiment so that punches you throw after weeks of doing the training hit harder than punches before. In the case with the Breather, it’s training the breathing muscles so that you’re able to control your breathing, hold a note longer, and (allegedly) increase your vocal range while you’re singing. You’re supposed to train your breathing, that way when you later attempt singing you can perform better than you did before. Sorry I likely overexplained myself but you get the idea. I’m curious to see how your view of the product changes after you’ve undergone the coaching with the app and have a better understanding of the product.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The purpose of this review was for a very specific use for singers. And I disagree that if you use it exactly the way it is intended it would benefit your singing. It is meant to strengthen muscles in a particular way for daily life. Singers have to breathe differently for singing. Which was the point of this video. Hope that clarifies things for you!
@@CrystalVoiceStudio you missed what the original comment was pointing out entirely, and the fact that you pulled up the diagram and disagreed with a subjective statement in relationship to singing shows this as well.
Singers breathe differently. If a singer who has poor breathing habits gets this tool, they’re going to continue practicing those bad habits while using this tool. This seems more geared towards maybe a singer who is recovering from surgery or who was on vocal rest for months, it’s for a trained singer who knows how to breathe properly, not an amateur singer.
@@prncezmandalyn bro what? The product is marketed for that purpose- to cater to singers specifically. But the product is clear on the product not being used for singing with the instrument but for breathing with the instrument without phonation- at least to what the commentor above pointed out. Leave it to singers to think they’re so rare a breed they don’t think other singers exist and know what they’re talking about.
@@HapieYTV you’re not understanding 😂 since you understand terminology, lemme try and explain another way. If a singer is not breathing from their diaphragm, they’re breathing improperly PERIOD. So this product is only going to reinforce that improper breathing because they’re just gonna try to “beat” the product or say “I can do it, look!”. I work with singers from age 3.5-high school. So this product is not useful for a singer like them who doesn’t even know how to activate their diaphragm. With phonation or not, this isn’t a useful tool to help singers who don’t already know how to breathe with their diaphragm. For an experienced singer and breather who is trying to expand their breath support, yes this is probably a helpful tool but shouldn’t be used for beginning, inexperienced singers and breathers.
Does this only give temperary deeper voice or can you get deeper voice from using it over a periode?
I didn't realize there was a kit. I just got the liquid. But I do have a Netti Pot that looks to be about 8 oz. Do you have any recommendations on how to use this Alkalol liquid with my nettie pot? I was wondering how many ounces the cup holds so that maybe I can formulate it that way.
Figure low strength is 1 part Alkolol to 4 part saline (or water), and strong is 4 part Alkolol to 1 part saline, based on the percentages they list in the instructions.
I didn’t know my nose worked that way! Lol
How did you get your own stroboscopy set up? How much did it cost and where did you get it?
Thanks for doing this demonstration! VERY brave of you and SO helpful!! Thank you thank you ❤
It’s ridiculous to do a review without reading the instructions! This review can’t be trusted. Nowhere do they say to try to sing with it in your mouth. It’s not meant to be an instrument or treated like one. It’s a device to strengthen your diaphragmatic breathing, your lungs, etc. Please actually follow the instructions and the app.
Hi Bonnie! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The purpose of this review was for a very specific use for singers, as an off label use, because I was asked to do so by a professional singer friend and colleague and I am a breathing coach who works with singers. Breather Voice is meant to strengthen muscles in a particular way for daily life. Singers have to breathe differently for singing. Which was the point of this video. Hope that clarifies things for you!
Also from what I understand it would be better to have a bifurcated review that also shows the results from using the trainer over a period of time say 6 months or so... This is not a kazoo.
@@jackconnor2593 great input! Yes, if I was attempting to do a systematic and thorough review of the product in the scientific method, I would do it completely differently. This review was simply because a friend and client was wondering if she should purchase one, or keep doing what she had been doing with a straw. Based on my decades of coaching experience and thousands of hours of research and training, I decided this product was not worth investing that much time into, for MY particular demographic. Others are welcome to do that research and I would be very interested to see the results and if it is compelling enough information I would absolutely go back and do some more of my own research. But at this point, there are other options that to me are much more effective with a much lower price point.
