Turner Motorsport Three Point Carbon Fiber Strut Brace - M240i

In this video we install the Turner Motorsport Three Point Carbon Fiber Strut Brace. One issue is that it rubs against the Eventuri Intake and the INDIV Engine Cover. The second is that the hardware it comes with requires tightening of a nut from the fender area, where there is not enough room to get a good amount of torque. We show how to fix both of those issues.
Akrapovic Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps - Review/Install/Troubleshooting - BMW M240i / M2

In this video we take a look at the Akrapovic Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps. I show subtle things to watch out for during the installation such as making sure the mirror adjustments work and do not cause a "mirror potentiometer defective error". I also demonstrate how to fix whistling from wind using silicone, which seals against water/air, is chemically resistant, and easy to apply. Drive a bit aft...

M2 BMW M Performance Fender Arches on M240i?
Просмотров 794 месяца назад
God damn it does look like a work of art and well done on the cable management. It’s ridiculous again that at this price point you have to hack the valve like that! Did you always plan to add so many mods to the M240 or did your circumstances change. Just curious how you settled on it instead of M2 considering the mod cost
It uses OEM BMW valve actuators that you just order from any dealer,, so can't really blame Akrapovic for that, but they should have mentioned it in the otherwise really good manual. The mechanism is better however as the valve on this exhaust has a slot and so you position the actuator directly on it and don't have to mess with the small spring that the OEM and some other aftermarket exhausts use. I plan to talk about your second point in another video. Thanks
Although it looks great , there is no way I would pay that amount of money for a spoiler..that’s crazy!
Man this process is such a hassle, glad I got a 2020 with a bench unlock
where did you get the stickers/ emblems for the engine cover?
It's the Indiv G2X M40i (B58) Carbon Engine Cover. High quality, but pricey. Made in South Korea I think. The sticker comes pre-applied. The BMW emblem is just the one that came with my factory engine cover. It has bent metal tabs on the back so it can be removed and re-installed.
Looks awesome! Good walkthrough idea talking through the manual. This is a pretty difficult installation as far as DIY goes. Well done. Good points about water intrusion. I guess they’re really designed for a car that only lives on track
Bro your channel is pretty cool. Thank you for all the explanation. I have a M340i and was looking at your process with FEMTO and was very helpful. Keep it up!!💪🏼🫡
Thank you . Just to be clear … one can reconnect the battery w/o the ECU connected and it’s all good?
Yeah, you'll just get a drivetrain malfunction (self-explanatory) message until you reconnect it.
ah man I really feel for you! I found your channel looking up the Turner brace. You ended up buying all the high end parts and each once has something overlooked. Thanks for taking the time to share the fixes you found and also give a heads up for those considering these parts.
Yeah, if the reason you are buying high end is for ease of *proper* install then think again. Just wait for the Akrapovic wing video lol. But if you are willing to put in the work, they can look and perform great after you’re done.
30 min job turned into 6 hour job... every... single... time!!!
thanks for the video. quick question, did you have to buy the "MHD/BM3" license first, and link to your DME before removing and sending to Femto? Or did you do all of that once you get your DME back? I've heard conflicting things regarding that part of the process
The tuning license has nothing to do with the Femto unlock, you can purchase it before or after.
@@aedgarwhich license did you go with on mhd
@@blazed-_-meza8912 Super, as I needed the Flasher, Monitor, and Map Pack as I'm using OTS (which is sufficient for the stock turbo). If you're going to get a custom tune then you don't need the Map Pack. You still need the other two however, as you can only flash one vehicle per Flasher license as it is associated with a VIN. The Monitor is self-explanatory, as you need to collect and analyze logs if you at all care about the health and performance of your vehicle.
Very helpful video. Do you have to wait till payment is requested or can you send payment in advance to save time?
@@robs8467 You should send the payment only after an invoice is created for you, as you need to verify all the information. In my case, this only took 8 hours after creating the order.
Did you have to buy Super License or choosing MHD+ at Femto unlock order website already have that uploaded? I already have MHD account just wondering if i still need to buy the Super License or not.
Quick question, so for the paying return shipping through invoice. I dont need to print any shipping label? They’ll be doing that is that correct?
If you select "I'm paying back shipping costs by invoice" then you only need to print the shipping label to send it to them. They will then print their own when sending it back.
@ gotcha! Appreciate you. Bout to send mine soon. Thank you for this video
Great video! Just wanted to clarify on the G series chassis. It doesn’t matter if the automatic updates are turned off on the app correct? I for some reason cannot get them to stay off. Whenever I turn them off and close out the app and come back it automatically has them back on.
It's a bug in the app. Try this: Uncheck it, close the app, reopen, and it will be checked again, but now back out of the menu and go back into it without closing the app, and it will actually be unchecked, as it should be. I haven't got any update notifications so I'm pretty sure unchecking works. If it doesn't, then in the worst case it will download the update to your phone and just give a notification that you need to update. For the update to actually take place requires an entire manual process of you transferring the update to the car, then starting it after clicking "confirm" a handful of times. It won't automatically perform the update on iDrive 8, and I assume the other versions as well.
These videos are really great as the whole process for me was really confusing and it was my first time doing any of this. Thank you for the content.
In my next video I show how to get a more accurate "current fuel level" using the BMW hidden menu and also write my own iOS app for more precise mix calculations. Check it out!
Thanks for the video I have a 2024 g42 and about to send my DME to femto also!
Good luck!
And how did it go?
Cleannn ass engine bay bro
This is way too expensive just for a strut brace. round about 1200 Dollars for just a brace is ridiculous.....
I have seen similar comments come up multiple times in forum posts discussing strut braces, so let's analyze it. The top piece is 40" long, 2.16" wide, and 1" tall. The bottom piece is 56" inches long, 1.25-2.35" wide (depending on where you measure it, so let's say 2" for the benefit of doubt because it is over 2" in more places than it isn't), and 1" tall. A 24" long, 2" wide, and 0.5" tall carbon fiber bar on McMaster-Carr is $119, and the 12" long version of that is $67. So you need about 2x24" and 2x12" bars to give you about the same volume as the top piece. That is $372. For the bottom piece you need approximately 4x24" and 2x12", which is $610. The former is 4" shorter than the material we need and the latter is 4" longer than the material we need, so they cancel each other out. That is $1000 of raw carbon fiber. Now include the aluminum shrouds, manufacturing of it, clear coating, and r&d. There isn't much left for profit. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it expensive for what it is? I'd say no, especially relative to other high end / high quality carbon fiber products in the automotive industry. Is it worth it? Well, that's up to you. I think it makes the engine bay look great and the handling improvement once you drive with it makes you not want to drive without.
Here is a photo of the clips that you need to make sure are in all the way before inserting the glass: imgur.com/a/KKRJ2tg Two of them on the bottom area of mine eventually broke off because I took the glass out probably close to 20 times while troubleshooting. You should not have this issue.
Thank you for the support!
good job,never give up!
