This video will explain why front leg catches are preferred in your beaver traps and a tip on how to increase your chances of being successful. Full disclosure, this is probably the cheesiest video I have ever produced, I have never used power point in my life. The information is good to know, so I hope you can look past my horrible animation. I hope you have a great day and find this tip useful.

Overnight Time-Lapse Using GoPro Hero 10 Camera
Просмотров 126Год назад
I used my GoPro Hero 10 with the factory “night lapse” settings to creat this video from sunset to sunrise. This video represents around 7 hours of night sky, all shown in under a minute. The lightning bugs were really thick during filming and make a noticeable presence, especially below the horizon. Watch in a dark room for best viewing. Wonderful video! Very direct with an easy recipe. I'm a beginner so I can't wait to try it. I was surprised by the parchment paper because parchment paper is flammable, but it seemed to work. Thanks for showing, teaching and filming.
Although a Peach 🍑 Cobbler, in the summer, sure is good too! 😋
@@chrissewell1608 Especially with some vanilla ice cream! Thanks for watching.
Where did you get those metal identification tags at? I would like to have some made.
trapshed.com/ They are the same tags I use for my traps in the winter. They work great for poles and are super affordable. I think I got 50 for around $15.
Ran across this video, really like the idea of the line being nice and neat and tangle free. Going to make a bunch of these for a video im shooting next month. What would you say is the max lb cat that those half in pvc bank poles will hold?(Subscribed) tight lines!
I think they’d hold a 20 pounder just fine. I think the biggest I’ve caught on them was in the 15-18 pound range and had no issues. I subbed your channel, looking forward to viewing your videos.
@@spoonriveroutdoors good deal! I appreciate the info. Just made a little over 20 of them so we shall see 🤘 much appreciated!
Newbie here, what are the paper you put in the pan called.
Parchment paper. I found some round (fitted) paper made just for Dutch ovens at Bass Pro. They’re worth every penny.
Ooohh
Hope you have better results next time! Thank you for sharing my friends!
Thanks, Mark.
Looks amazing!
Thanks, man. It was pretty cool!
Awesome
Thanks, brother.
Beautiful!
We really enjoyed our time there.
Your tip for anchoring poles with 16 penny nails is illegal in Louisiana: No metal object which is driven into or attached to the lake bottom, a stump, tree, or the shoreline shall be used to anchor a yo-yo, trigger device, trotline, limb line, jug, or other passive fishing device containing a hook or hooks.
There are a lot of states with differing regulations about that. It’s always good to know what you can or cannot do in your area. Great comment.
Bummer, I was hoping to see a big ol cat. Better luck next time!
I’m gonna try to get out this weekend. I’m confident my results will be much better. Lol
Great video. New trapper here in Alberta, thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching. Best of luck to you!
Have you made longer ones? Do you do good fishing in the top couple feet of water? I have always fished on the bottom and sometimes that is 10 ft of water.
I keep all mine the same length, mostly for transporting reasons. I almost always fish the upper ~8” of water because that’s where they cruise overnight. The deeper holes would probably be better during the day time. I’d like to try a deeper, daytime hole though. You got me thinking. Thanks for watching.
Good job papa
Thank you, Em!
I saw a video once that mentioned that sometimes there is a little bit of fermentation to be expected when making cottonwood bud oil. I can't seem to find it again (of course). I made a lovely oil last year, and while there were absolutely no signs of spoilage, there is a hint of alcohol off of it. Can you weigh in on it? Again, no spoilage, no mold, no fungus, just a whiff of fermentation alcohol. I'm dying to use it if it's okay! Thanks for any input you have!
I have never smelled an alcohol scent from it before. I actually still have this batch in a cabinet now for almost a year. It did push a little past the sealed lid about three months in. I tightened the lid a bit and it still looks really good. No molds or fungus present. I have also heard of it being possible to ferment, but haven’t experienced it myself.
Cool idea for your bank poles. Thank you.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching.
I like that man thanks for the tips. I’ve got plenty of PVC different sizes out in my barn/scraps.
Thanks for watching.
Some outdoor -campin stores sell foil pans to fit your DO, great for cookin acidic foods like chilli or spaghetti. Those acidic food eat away on your seasoning. Great Job, keep up the good work
Thank you for the information and the compliment!
What do you do with the wax in the pot when you’re done with it ? Do you save it ? If so , how ? With the water at the bottom ?
I’ve never saved it. There’s usually not enough left to save.
❤ the Tee.
😁 Thanks!
Nice recipe and good old fashion cooking 🧑🏼🍳
Thanks for watching. I do appreciate it.

You’re welcome. It’s pretty simple. Good luck with your trapping!
Great information brother
Thank you, Dave.
Thank you so much! I was wondering how to do that!
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.
My son and my friend and I had similar experiences this trapping season. I didn't bother with my coyote sets because of the warm wet weather. Caught lots of coons early but then it got real slow. BTW, the Spoon River was in my backyard growing up. I appreciate your videos, it's like being at home.
Have to Admit that Dead Beaver reminded me of my Ex Wife

That’s always a good thing. Checking traps with you is the best part.
Nice catches. My trap line has been really slow this year

Dutch oven cobbler was a guaranteed fact when we went camping when i was a kid . apple , peach , blackberry , blueberry . . . i think dad even made rhubarb cobbler . people all over the camp ground would follow their noses to our campsite . and dad would share . after the first year , he made them 2 at a time . . . because he knew people would appear magically when it was almost done . we went to one of two different campgrounds , either Findlay Park or Kelly's Island Park . good times .
Those sound like some really good memories you have with your family. Thank you for sharing.
Love your videos
Thank you, Ken. I appreciate you saying that. I just sub’s your channel. Looking forward to watching your content.
