My first exposure to Quincy in college was this song. I remember the horn hits well. I was the piano player in the jazz big band. It took me back. What a wonderful legacy. Amen Q!

I’m about to break out mine. I hope it still plays. This album and Philip Upchurch’s Darkness Darkness album were my favorites.

Indeed, there are 2 distinct jazz pianists named Gene Harris. This one unfortunately had a small discography limited to the 1950s.

An lp that can be played over and over and u’ll never tire of listening 2 the musicianship.

If you ever buy this CD, I meed to make a correction. A tune called Blue Waltz which is credited to Marlene Rosenberg as the composer, but the tune is actually called Waltz For Evans and I am the composer which I recorded with Joe on a Muse album called Akio with Joe Henderson Marlene is my friend back in Chicago days and she called me after this CD came out saying that was not her idea, but somehow the name was changed and she became the composer.

I remember this music as a very young person I was searching for it for a long time (found it and now can’t stop playing it)
