Watch it and see... Why is it whenever we ask these guys about WTC7's collapse they just kinda stare off into space? Mobile Bullhorning
Просмотров 28817 лет назад
After a good day of bullhorning downtown we figured we would bullhorn on the way out too.
It gives me goosebumps to listen to him giving his lead, after I thought he was a musical legend. So glad that he found sobriety but so sad that he was taken off this earth too soon.
So eerie him saying I am thankful I'm alive today. So sad.😢
I fight alcoholism every morning, and I fight fire with fire. Nah, in all seriousness Im glad SRV got sober and if you have a problem you should too.
Of course his teen gf showed up. She was living in his home and totally depended on his fame and money. She couldn’t say no. I don’t mean any disrespect to SRV but she was in it for the gold. It was mentioned by those close to him that he actually called Lenny first. She declined. It sounds cold but I think after 13yr of this, she couldn’t deal with it anymore.
It was attractive to him because it originally medicated him. It probably numbed him from his dysfunctional and emotionally unavailable father. Makes me sad because I had the same dad figure. It hurts your self esteem tremendously. The man who is supposed to be your mentor, your ‘rock’ seems like the enemy. Anyway, he worked so hard to turn it around every single day of his life. His struggle with addiction and his music career starts paying off and he’s killed. Killed by an incompetent pilot who had no business flying that night. This could have been prevented. Life is so cruel.
It was so sad when we lost this man. RIP Stevie. I started drinking at 8 also. Sober since 1990 myself and forever grateful. I got sober In Dallas. I remember the Aquarius group. I got sober at the gift in Irving then moved to Carrollton and new home group was Addison group. I now hail in TN but miss Texas AA. I love AA anywhere but I guess where you get sober will always be special.
15:20 Tightrope song
Thank you for posting this. A lot to take in❤
Srv was a saved christian since he was a boy. He got sucked into the world but God Brought him home, a little too early.
I didn't know they were giving out cocaine nasal spray scripts even back then (when? 60s 70s?).... That surprised me a little.
RIP / Rock in Peace / Last album called " In Step" / Muzik = Life
Great speech but I think when he talks about being confused in terms of thinking and feeling that's probably one of the biggest issues with getting sober. Life is complicated
the bible talks about people who will try to kill themselves but fail at it he was the one the bible was talking about. myself and many more
" Stevie was a tremendous player & tremendous person. We shouldn't grieve long, though. He gifted us with wonderful memories & a sense of purpose." - Billy Gibbons
❤❤❤
I never knew this existed! 😭
Stevie was my inspiration to get clean.... I went clean in the Summer of '90....then he passed away in August. I've been completely clean and sober ever since....33 years now. Stevie literally saved my life and he never even met me.
Wow man that's pretty impressive I'm sure he would be proud
Wow. I just find that. Its so powerful Thanks God for AA and everything 😊
Stevie and Jimmy seem to have had the same early life as myself and my 4 sisters.
I will listen to this I hope it helps me.
He is Eternal. 🙏🌹He still lifts people up.
From Johnny Winter´s "Still Alive And Well": -They tried to get me lot´s of times and now their coming after you, I got out and I´m here to say, baby you can get out too..", just comes to my mind after listening to the speech a good 10 times here. Hearing this speech for the first time, it is so powerful it gives me tears and hope. God bless his soul.
sounds like Beer drinkers and hell raisers conference meeting by golly.
Stevie became his music . Only the good die young
That is a popular saying, but its a blessing to love long and healthy. Srv struggled, but he cam out on top with the hand he was dealt and God brought him home. He should still be here helping people, but God had other plans.
This is so wonderful to have . Gives insight to his life, his struggles and his family life
I'm not sure what lead me here but I'm going to look into this program
Love you and miss you Stevie Ray.
"ah we're going to jail"
It doesn't seem right that this was recorded. A very private moment, but It will help those who listen to this and that's what it's all about.
OLD SCHOOL,BABY!! I always said.. *what separates a good meeting from a bad meeting?? HONESTY!! Stevie's honesty is refreshing!!🤺
Stevie is the hero of mine. I am a hardcore alcoholic. Been to hell and back and almost died several times from this disease. I'm struggling right now to get my sobriety back I have short periods of sobriety from time to time. But one thing that's always on my mind if I don't want to die drunk or high. I'm just glad that our brother died sober
I needed to hear this. This was about the time I started drinking heavy at 15 in Oklahoma. 32 years later I am sober. I was a beginner at guitar when SRV died. His memory has made me a competent player, now this recording gives me another gift.
Very sad that just months after this he died😢
I pray the city of Austin will maintain his statue and young musicians will find out who he is and what the top guitarist in the world was and his struggle with drugs and how he won that fight. But tragically died a short time after this. Stevie we miss you but will see you again someday.
That thing he mentions about not knowing how he feels, could be a result of his dad's abuse when he was small. I had an abusive mother & have the same problems with not knowing how I feel. I think it comes from having your feelings invalidated or beaten out of you when you're still so young. Bless him. I wish he'd been given more time.
Wish you were here, Stevie...
God bless SRV and AA
God Bless You SRV.....Rest Easy

Didn't know him for years but went way down the wrong path almost to far myself been clean and sober 28 years take it one day at a time life short you can't change yesterday but you can today love all y'all peps
“Thank y’all for letting me be here with you, wether I know what to say about it or not it means a lot to me” Sounded so genuine and broke my heart
Thank You Brother🎸🙏
Rancid people
Identification is such a huge part of recovery and it's amazing that someone that was a legend a role model for me as a guitarist story is so similar to my own and it's just a testament to his character how humble he still was and of course he was lost way to early rip SRV
I think the "verse" Stevie was referring to, @ 11:53 is in Revelations. (The end times..the tribulations period.)
God kill me or save me. Walking the tight rope is Hell
Love his music. Thank you, his words help me.
The tone of his voice is off. Is it sped up?
This is why I miss my friend.
This speech is so inspiring and SRV’s journey is so inspiring, he and Jimi Hendrix are my favorite musicians and the greatest blues guitarists of all time IMO. I’ve been sober for 5 months now and the last time I used, I listened to this speech, it saved my life and I come back to it often. I can’t thank SRV enough for his music and for sharing his journey, best wishes to everyone, especially reckoning addicts and using addicts, I hope you and I can find sobering, if Stevie can do it, we all can!! Much love❤️❤️❤️💯
