Johannes Brahms - Intermezzo in B minor, Op. 119 No. 1 (1893)
Evgeni Koroliov, piano
Manuscript annotated and revised by Brahms
One of my favorite character pieces from Brahms. Very difficult to get the phrasing and pedaling right.

Why was number 2 just something straight out of Botw?
Vivaldi refused first so he could be on the list twice.
when I was a precocious 17 yr old I got fired from a job as a receptionist at a spa because I refused to put on classical music radio they had told me to put on & put on lofi music instead, because I listened to a fair bit of classical music and said (and stand by this) that a lot of classical music isn't actually very relaxing, and not really the vibes of a chilled out spa. Not the best way to keep a job, but I know I was right. Anyway these fuck hard.
Badass Vivaldi was definitely a rockstar
Considering that they used portions of Bach’s music in Castlevania’s soundtrack, he’s a very good honorable mention here. Also, why is almost no one mentioning Royer’s?
Bartók’s and Royer’s were definitely my favorites
The transition at 8:20 tho is beautiful
Vivaldi - summer , Impossible not to remember hxh
every ginastera string quartet
Rite of Spring and Mars, Bringer of War - the most metal pieces of music ever written in my mind
Jupiter > Mars
septic flesh "mad architect" = Shostakovich
Love this! There's actually a metal arrangement of the Shostakovich by a group called Shamblemaths. It includes the first movement of the quartet as well. "D.S.C.H." from the album Shamblemaths II.
All these pieces are melodically, harmonically and rhythmically very elaborated, which is never the case in „metal“. Worlds between!
Fun fact when Stravinsky debuted Rite of Spring the audience actually rioted.
00:26 🤘🔥🔥
Metal is baroque with modern instruments and modern drugs
you are not prepared for this, but your grand-grand-grand-grand-son will enjoy it
the shostakovich piece is my favorite EVER
vivaldi fucked
Jesses, ive never heard Bartok and Holst before. (Ok im not into that.) Thats intense sound i like. fantastic
And that's before you even begin to approach the various Dies Irae, the War Requiem, Sir Karl Jenkins Torches movement of The Armed Man...
The Schubert is a furious battle with the Devil
You forgot Prokofiev battle on ice
ONG ROYER ACTUALLY MADE ME FALL OFF MY BED
classical musics are literally metal musics, if electric guitars and drum sets were a thing back then, we probably already have metal musics since hundreds of years ago the fact that half of these composers literally have a depressing life also adds to the vibes of their songs, one even literally met the devil in his dream, that's really metal
vivaldi the OG inventor of shredding
they walk, so the power metal bands could run
Not having Winter from the Four Seasons is a crime…
They did have it listed on the bottom for similar works when they showed Summer.
Holst's Mars heavily influenced John Williams when he worked out the soundtrack for Star Wars.
What recordings are these?
It says above the sheet music.
@@robstyles8535 it states the piece not the recording/performance. The Royer piece I'm able to find aplenty here in RUclips but none have the same punch as the excerpt from this video.
No. Top 10 CLASSIC MUSIC MOMENTS IN CLASSIC MUSIC MOMENTS
its rude to compare art but bartok's string quartet no 4 reminds me of the advent children version of one winged angel
Where’s Prokofiev’s Dance of the Knights?
I'm afraid that's above this level. Its in a different category under Top 10 cosmic moments in classical music.
Vivaldi was SHREDDING 😂😂😂
I never noticed how much Mars sounds like the intro to a sick as hell Metallica song.
I can't think of it as "metal moments in classical", I would say it is usually classical moments utilized in metal.
I‘d like to add the Händel/ Halvorsen Passacaglia performed by Perlman (violin) and Zukerman (viola) And also a Wieniawski Etude they played together!
4:18 this reminds me of basically every villain's song in weird halloween-y movies (coraline, the nightmare before christmas, beetlejuice)
3:10 my man Royer must have had a rough week OH MY GOD
7:29 Fortress Europe)))
had to check you had vivaldi summer 3 🤘
Holst be all "blaaam blam blam blam.... blaaaam"
Thank you for finding such wonderful performances of some of my favorite music! -toby
Блестящее исполнение интересной музыки!! Спасибо.❤
Bach's toccata and fugue in d minor is basically electric guitar tapping but on an organ.
I can manage 6 voices on the guitar easy enough, but I'm struggling a bit with 8.
3:09 most timeless shit, mozart and bethoven cries
Rameau les cyclopes 🤟
The Rite of Spring (#4) opened and set off riots -- 2B fair I believe the rioters were pissed at the dancing and not the music.
How did I not know Vivaldi pioneered pirate music
