love it
Cleaning up the body parts was devastating, but so was the fact that only 51 bodies could be identified, and, as a local newspaper reported at the time, most victims were atomized. Atomized. Hmm. When have we ever heard of a whole structure being destroyed in a sudden blast and people being atomized? That didn't even happen at Operation Crossroads, the spectacular tests of atomic bombs against naval ships conducted in the Marshall Islands in July 1946, with William S Parsons serving as technical director.
Speaking of the (outrageous but plausible) theory that the explosion may have been a secret nuclear test, scholar Javier Arbona says the conspiracy -- whether true or false -- detracts from the story of racial injustice. But what if it's exactly the other way around? The story of the unjust and Unnecessary mass court martial -- which was authorized by a memo issued three days before the explosion -- had the immediate and, so far, permanent effect of upstaging the massive explosion from which Manhattan Project scientists and engineers obtained the essential and unique data that allowed them to estimate the blast damages from the atomic bomb. That data could not have been more vital or more timely if it had come from an experiment conducted at a nuclear proving ground that was "designed for large explosions". Hmm. Where have we heard that phrase before? Oh, I know: Captain William S Parsons, Preliminary Memo on Port Chicago Disaster, July 24, 1944. www.atomicarchive.com/resources/documents/manhattan-project/port-chicago.html
Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro said the Port Chicago explosion said, "May the story of Port Chicago serve as a permanent reminder of the power of collective action, the importance of historical truth, and the enduring promise of a more just America." In that spirit, in the interest of full disclosure, it is now time to investigate and report on the documented and consequential link between the Port Chicago explosion and the Manhattan Project.

How will Contra Costa address the traffic engineering due to any local disaster escape routes? If new housing and businesses are built what plan is in place to exit safely. Right now it's too congested on all the main streets to get to a highway. Don't see expansion of lanes being made on any major streets YVR, Treat, Clayton, Concord, Marsh Creek, Kirker Pass??

Nice interview and information. Well done John!
What does a systemically racist city look like? Walnut Creek CA..From the lying racist Contra Costa County fire department who will frame innocent law-abiding minorities by starting small fires “investigating” them then determining the “suspect” to be an innocent law abiding minority. Then they will team with the lying racist Walnut Creek police department to harass and surveil the innocent law abiding minority to the fullest extent of the “law”. Remember Sonya Massey, We must Love we must pray.
I can't hear this very well. The intro was fine but the rest is a real strain.
Walnut Creek CA. is a stronghold for white supremacy ideologies and behaviors. Awesome project delivered through a real team effort on behalf of the County Administration, Public Works Department, the Design-Build team, and a number of other key agencies and entities. My firm (Vanir) acted as the project and construction manager and we are all proud to have contributed to making this project a reality for the County and the City of Martinez.

Omg treeeee!
The new Marsh Creek trail between Concord Ave and Vineyard Ave in Brentwood needs garbage cans at either end on the trail. Also needs a Dog Poo bag station. People already art littering in with dog poo, discarded dog poo bags, and trash.
We are blessed with great leaders in CoCo County. Thank you.
This is phenomenal, thank you for your leadership.
Does Community Health address all the medical errors in Contra Costa? Oh Yea---no one is responsible - not local gov't or state or federal. Parks, trees and trails are important but not safe, trauma-informed care.
Sounds like their pushing division and playing the race card!! As usual 👎🏽!!! They need to clean Nasty Ass Antioch up!!!
