In 1880 he wrote his first children's book, Toby Tyler; or, Ten Weeks with a Circus, a story about an orphan who runs away to join the circus. He went on to write other children’s books, as well as historical and adventure novels. A total of nearly 200 books by him have been identified. He used Otis, Walter Morris, Lt. James K. Orton, Harry Prentice, and Amy Prentice as pen names. He was made famous back then with Walt Disnhey making a film about his character Toby Tyler. There are only 8 copies of the book that you have mentioned readily available. All are chipped and cracked. None have the dustjacket. They are ranging anywhere between $45.00-75.00, in poor condition. It would be a book that you would want to take care of. :)
