The True Everyday Filter
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 месяцев назад
Today we’re comparing two popular filters from PolarPro to see which one truly deserves the title 'The Everyday Filter' CHAPTERS! 00:00 Unboxing 00:15 Intro 02:46 Overview 03:34 Filter Test 04:27 The True Everyday Filter 05:58 Unexpected outcome 06:52 Outro
I bought the helix pm vnds months before the everyday came out so I have them both. Very important to put the everyday on top of the vnd because they both spin and it’s a pain when u can’t adjust the vnd because of the polarizer spinning instead!
For me even the normal CPL looks fine.
Curious how the stack of both compares with just going with the gold mist version.
Do you think it is better to use a normal CPL filter instead of the everyday filter? I am an automotive photographer.
I would still recommend the VND/PL. A CPL is clutch for automotive and adding a variable ND will only help! If you’re feeling fancy, get the VND/PL/MIST (same as the one in the video). I’ve become a big fan of it especially for automotive 🤝🏼
I would imagine stacking a cpl and a VND together would be fiddly. What happens when you adjust one? Does the other turn too?
Can you drop the link to purchase your everyday pick? Great content and comparison!
Sure thing Jose! Here’s the exact filter I purchased and recommend - www.polarpro.com/products/chroma-vndpl-filter/?variant=2-5StopBlackMist82mmthreaded&srsltid=AfmBOop6LRzvshrynickqymMioskVbkFYHI6M2JI4y278Co49QSfM-qX Thanks for watching 🤝🏼
Curious, if you tried the Freewell V2 Hybrid VND/PL? Just wondering how it compares…
Have not tried that yet, perhaps a RD 2 video? 🤔
My first reaction is that you should come with more subs! GENIOUS content bud.
Haha appreciate that mate! In due time 🤝🏼
Instant follow 🤘
Hahaha iconic 👏🏽
The trifecta is definitely the way to go. I do own a Shortstache everyday filter and your video gave it sort of a blueish hue. The VND/PL/Mist version is a killer!
Couldn’t agree more! I’ve been using the VND/PL exclusively and can’t really fault it. Such a solid filter.
@@brandonstephenss I could'nt agree less either ;)
The besttttt example video ! !!! Thank you for taking your time !!!
Glad you liked it!! Thanks for the comment 🙏
Which VND/PL Mist? I’m on B&H and there seems to be a lot.
This is the one i used for the video 🙏 www.polarpro.com/products/chroma-vndpl-filter/?variant=2-5StopBlackMist82mmthreaded
If you have the everyday filter, can a lens cap go over that to protect filter like it does with other filters
Unfortunately, a normal lens cap wont work. You'll have to purchase a specific filter cap for the 'Everyday Filter' as even the 'VND/PL' Filter Cap doesn't work with it.
with fuji, yes it works. some have the lens cap on the lens hood. lens hood can be attached even with the filter on.
To me it’s worth it to get the everyday filter and then stack it on the vnd without pl or mist. That way you can do both low light and daylight shots with equal mist/polarizer
Solid idea! Stacking two mist filters can definitely be a bit much for some use cases.
thank you for this video. I was considering to purchase one or the other. you are right, between the 3in1 vs the everyday, seems to me that the 3in1>everyday. everyday just have too much bloom However.... if you combine both together i think it would be better than the 3in1 alone. but obviously the only issue with this is.... $$$
Spot on mate! The image and versatility on the VND/PL is unmatched.
Thanks for making this video. Is there any post-processing done on any of the examples?
Hey mate! All examples had the same conversion LUT from SLOG-3 to Rec709. No other work was done to them 🤝🏽
Now I want to see her review and don’t know where it is or who it is
Have a look closely at that section of the video, Her IG handle is posted🙏
@@brandonstephenss yea .. JAYDEKONY I did that ..but it didn’t pop up on RUclips to watch that video in particular
Gotcha, I came across that particular video on Instagram 🤝🏼
I just had to come across this video. I got the everyday filter and purchased the 2-5 stop to stack it cause that look with a total 1/2 mist seems amazing.
Haha It's looking to be an elite combo! You won't be disappointed with the two of them 🤝🏽
Keep it up my guy! Great production!
Legend! Thanks for the support mate 🙏
Hey i have a Panasonic is it better-than sony?
Sure thing mate
Great video! Thoughts on switching from Canon to Sony?
Best decision you'll ever make :)
Finally a solid review on the new chroma pl/vnd filter! I've been on the fence from pre ordering the helix mount, but haven't yet due to lack of reviews / test videos. This video (for being your first) is mad amazing, keep it up
I had the exact same thought before making the purchase! Stoked to hear it's helped out. Thanks for the support legend
A lot of guys have found the maglock setup to easily scratch the filter lens, alot of guys prefer the direct thread variant
Nice video I think I like the vmd filter it looks very nice, do you think it’ll fit on my S5ii
Double check your lens thread size and buy the filter accordingly. Thanks for the support 🤝🏼
How different is it from a generic one from Amazon for everyday user mate?
I haven’t tested the Amazon ones myself but I’d say you get what you’re paying for with these ones! Quality filters that are built to last.
Hey just curious if the PLVND2-5 lens cap fit the everyday filter? I would assume the metal back piece would fit since they’re both 82mm, but curious about the rubber cap part Thanks in advance!
Great question! I assumed it would fit, but after testing, I can confirm it doesn’t. The extra layers on the PL/VND allow it to catch onto the lens cover. Polar Pro do sell separate ‘Defender Caps’ that are slightly different but should work similarly. Hope this helps! 🙏
Such a great video! I’m going to go with with the VNDPL. You’ve earned a subscriber!
Solid choice! Thank you for the support and the sub 🙏
