    A few practical tips I've learned that are easy to implement: - Keep your phone outside of your bedroom at night. No mindless scrolling keeping you awake at night or in bed in the morning. Read a book instead. - Delete all games and social media off your phone. Check your screen time. If it's not <30 mins every day, remove more mindless apps. - Install an activity tracker on your PC. You can intuit how much time you spend playing video games, on RUclips, etc., but until you have actual hard data, it's much more of a tangible slap in the face, and makes you realize the true "time cost" of these activities.

    my morning routine is great and i always manage to follow it, but the rest of the day is a mess, anyways, here's my morning routine: wake up at 7/7:30 , cold shower, perform my ablution (i'm muslim), brush teeth, pray sobh (morning prayer), meditate for 2-3 min and start my day;

    Hey , I really appreciate your work but there is one thing is that sometimes listen to you get very hard because words get mix with other words , i know there is caption option but try to give more emphasis on your speaking. Don't take it personally.

    I managed to cut my screentime a lot by instaling an app that only allowed 10 min each hour. I still can watch if I want... but I don't get down that rabbit hole. My problem was not picking up the phone all the time.. but when I did, I got stuck.

    Trying to learn to program has been somewhat of a nightmare... But I find myself going back to it when I have spare time. Sometimes I'll watch the video and not understand a single word, but I keep going anyway. If I get stuck on a particular topic, I RUclips additional material that can explain it in further detail, and even then, I still might not get it. And that's OK. After coming back to it so many times, one day, it all just kind of start to make sense. I'm finished with about 20% of a course that's supposed to be, "100 days," but it's taken me 6 months to get through that 20% because after getting frustrated for not understanding, I might not come back for weeks, which honestly crippled me in the long run. The 10-minute every day goal is a good way to do it. One thing that's helped me tremendously is just leaving the code editor open while I do other things, like work, watch RUclips, browse memes, play games, etc, and the convenience of having it so readily available on my second monitor gave me the the leverage I needed to *start* a task on a whim, which may then put me into that flow state. And like you mentioned, once you're in it, you almost don't want to stop sometimes. My tip for you, the reader, is to have your metaphorical bowling pins readily available to be juggled at all times. Learning to yo-yo? Buy 20 and scatter them across the house- on the table, on the sofa, on the TV stand, in a drawer... As long as it doesn't annoy the missus, of course.

    Never understood how people get bored. If you put me in an empty room by myself I will be occupied with my thoughts for a long time, without getting bored. I do understand the concept of not allowing yourself to do anything else, but what you are supposed to work on, and it does work. I just don't ever get bored. And that not bragging, because it sometimes sucks, and maybe sucks even more than being bored.

    Im a 16 year old guy (in highschool), I don’t get bullied at school or anything, I always have people I can sit with and know enough to make small talk but outside of school I dont have any real friends. When I first started high school 4 years ago at a new school I hung out with a high achieving group for about a half a year, however I had a fight with one of the people and left the group. After that I floated around different friend groups but never made real connections with anyone while everyone else bonded stronger. A little over a year ago I decided to rejoin the friend group. However due to the fear of being disagreed with and forced to drift between friend groups I gradually stopped talking in conversations until I eventually became completely quiet. By now its just become normal that during lunch I sit with them silently and in classes I sit with them but barely talk to them. I really want to become friends but no matter what I do, I can’t seem to force myself to speak, let alone become friends with them. I really want to get added on social media and go out to places with them. Problems I have when i try to talk are: - Since its been so long it feels odd to out of nowhere start talking again/they aren’t expecting me to talk to them - They all know eachother way better than I do so why would they want to talk to me when they can talk to a closer friend - I can rarely think of anything interesting or meaningful to say What should I do?

      hope you’re doing better since it’s been five months lol from what you’ve said it seems like they don’t want to be friends with you, i know that is a painful thing to hear, but they have every right to feel that way. it seems like you’re mentally stuck in the past, and you have to let some things go. if their company doesn’t make you feel good don’t force yourself into being friends with them (which doesn’t mean that you should completely cut off contact with every single person from that friend group, maybe you could just stay acquaintances ). from your comment you seem like you get anxious when it comes to socializing. try to get over that, i know it seems really difficult but you must do it if you want to see a positive change. conversations and friendships are a ‘two person’ game, both sides have to actively participate in order for it to work. you said you can’t come up with things to talk about-analyze what these people usually talk about-are you interested in any of those topics? do you want to participate in such conversations? don’t think about it so much, conversation takes practice and it should just flow naturally, no one expects ANYONE to say something really meaningful, you literally just go with the flow. also why limit yourself to one group only? why not befriend random people you get along with in school or make your own friend group? feeling lonely can be hard but believe me, as time passes and as you grow up you will change as a person and meet people that you could easily get along with. in the meantime, find some hobbies, (i know this sounds generic) try new things, join a course etc that way you’re basically surrounded by people with same interests as you and hobbies generally make you a more interesting person.

    - Our brains are conditioned to seek instant gratification, often through highly addictive social media platforms. - The most stimulating option available determines our actions; if it's our phone, we'll use it, but if it's reading a book, we'll opt for that. - Boredom can be leveraged to prioritize tasks that were previously avoided, as they become more appealing than simply sitting in boredom. - Building an "attention muscle" through practices like meditation can help reduce mindless scrolling and increase concentration. - By making a list of easy tasks alongside more challenging ones, we can build momentum by completing smaller tasks and eventually tackle more demanding work.

    I was forced into a similar lifestyle portrayed in this video when I suddenly ended up disabled. The internet just wasn't doing it for me anymore, since I'm stuck at home now. So I've learned to enjoy reading books more, made massive progress in writing my fictional works, found a healthier way to make content, and just generally enjoying my alone time in silence way more. In fact, today I was thinking about what value Twitter brings to my life, if any. Literally all that happens there is I tweet something and usually get no response at all from my friends or followers on topics I'm passionate about. So today I logged out of Twitter, and I'm considering deleting my account altogether. All that app does is make me feel bad for not getting attention when I share my thoughts. Like, at that rate it's better to just message a friend. But yeah, my disability has actually made it easier to live slowly, since I get immense pain from pushing myself. And as a result of that, I get more fulfillment and meaning out of what little I can do in a day. My goal now is to make my alone time my new baseline and go-to form of pleasure. (I have a very active imagination so I know I can make it happen) I'm getting better and closer to this goal every day. I have bad days and fall off the path, but that's life. I always get back up.

      I haven't read any books specifically about what you're talking about but I think habits play a large part in allowing you to achieve goals. For this specifically I would recommend reading Atomic Habits by James Clear and maybe The Productivity Project for more general things you can do to get more value from your time. In regards to a career, you need to become marketable in something that pays reasonably. For example, if you're trying to become a software developer you need to focus extensively on building personal projects just to get your foot in the door. Depending on whether you have a degree I would focus on getting an entry level job. I think you would also be able to learn a trade as well if that's something you're interested in. I hope this helps!
