Elvert Bañares is a film director & multidisciplinary artist who shoots his films independently. He started making underground experimental films/video art since 1993 & has moved on to direct narrative shorts & documentaries starting in 2008. An Urian Award winner; 3-time CCP Winner for Independent Film; and, winner of 12 intl awards in the past three years in Copenhagen, Kota Kinabalu, Berlin & Ontario, his films & art have been selected in more 150 intl film & art fests in 40+ countries across all continents. Among his festivals: FANTASPORTO, BOGOCINE, DC Asian Pacific American Film Festival, Maoriland Film Festival, Native Spirit Film Festival, 34th Tokyo International Film Festival, Festival de Cine Global de Santo Domingo, Ji.hlava International Film Festival, CURTAS - Festival do Imaxinario, 33rd São Paulo International Short Film Festival, Festival Transterritorial de Cine Underground and the Academy Award Qualifying 38th Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival.
