A GACS Blast from the Past - Rico, At It Again!
wow, we got a UPJ mention on here
I used to watch this show every week but it’s really just become nothing more than an infomercial for various auction houses.
Love hearing about hockey! Also great to not hear the same beating a dead horse of modern vs vintage. Thanks JM for something different.
Pete Rose looked up to Joe D. " play for the fans"
Tom the 1906 Cubs were one of the greatest teams ever with Tinker, Evers and Chance but Christy Mathewson never pitched for the Cubs. Their ace pitcher was Mordecai 3 Finger Brown.
I remembered it on TV not I didn’t watch the game
SUPERSTAR
Wow! 5 straight strikeouts of all-time GREATS! This was truly an AMAZING performance by Hubbell! Giving this video a 👍
great show guys. I'm bidding on the sterling auction. thanks.
R.I.P. Luis Tiant. He should be in the hall of fame.
I came to see Rico Petrocelli in 1969, along w/ Yaz. I never heard of Rico Petrocelli as a Shortstop. Always @ 3rd.. There's some bad information going on.
Card sets from 1909-1919 which are notorious for factory miscuts like the M116 Sporting Life and T210 Old Mill red borders are too often given an Authentic grade as ‘trimmed’ or ‘not minimum size’ by PSA and SGC. That is my main gripe on the grading of cards from these sets.
Makes MLB look bad if he isn't in
100% needs to be in the hall of fame
Hi Tom.
Your content is decent, but man the number of ads for auction houses is absolutely nauseating.
We need to stop calling it ‘the hobby’…this is an industry at this point where value drives everything. I would say 80% of the people here wouldn’t be here is cards had no value tomorrow.
That "breakers" bs is its own hobby. Pulling a card "worth" ten thousand dollars on a card made this year is the same as NFT art... let the suckers have it. Ill take a Koufax rookie any day!!!!
I saw this happen in real time (on TV), and thought it was outrageous and typical of the poor sportsmanship of Billy Martin's Yankee teems. It was Nettles who called the bat to Martin's attention, and the rest is history. It's an ignoble way to win a ball game.
No scruples in baseball cards? Uh, goldin, foreman, mastro, allen, moser and on and on.....
All filler, no content. I thought I was tuning into an hour of chat about Collectibles. Very disappointing.
Great stuff
Cobb was the first modern player that changed the game. Not Ruth.
Good Show! Take care of your back Tom!
That was just before divisions.
Rico with the blast!
lol rico looking for his hat
🏃 Promo>SM
Great show. Two questions, the Cardinal Uniform wasnt it Pepper Martin not Pepper Johnson. Also wasn't Mantle's popup 1968?
yep, Wade Boggs doesn't have any cards in the 1970s :) I'm sure you were thinking of Mike Schmidt.
good video tom.
hey tom great video.
Wooooooooo!!
My first ever mitt was a Rico Petrocelli. Im 60 that was 52 yrs ago and i had no idea who he was.
I love love of the game auctions.
Sunbeam bread.
great show again tom and rico!
good stuff tom. Love that hans wagner.
What a great moment for Rico and Tom at this National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame - Massachusetts Chapter Banquet! It was a great Day where Tom DiBenedetto and Dominic Sardo were inducted into the Hall of Fame! Two (2) truly deserving Honorees! Caps off to both of these gentlemen! 😂
This is such a w sigma male skibidi rizz moment
Thanks for the insights and show. I just don't understand Type 1 Photos. IMO too easy to fake. What happen to photo negatives? Does a negative make Type 1? Seems like NFTs again. :)
Roush, Griffith and Hal Chase are all in the 1915 set.
REA is the right place to go for quality stuff and people
Nice pick up Tom!
Great interview thanks for sharing. The early Ruth cards are just so special. And of course the WWG Joe D
Great show
Maybe Yaz can help Rico w/ the pepperoni
Outrageous bats!. Wow
Great story Tom. The Mudman. Lena Blackburne.
Tom should have shown the cards to the side camera.
