Rarer than Michelin - The Oldest Restaurants in Bangkok
In this video, we’ll be exploring THREE of Bangkok’s oldest restaurants. We’ll uncover their history, their personal stories, and the food they’ve been serving for over a hundred years. We’ll delve into a dish loved by a King, the oldest chicken rice in Bangkok, and a rare Teochew cuisine.
Descriptions of Article/Poster
It’s fun to know what’s written on restaurant walls. Not necessary to understand the story, but I thought I’d share.

The shop has been here for four generations, near the Talad Phlu pier.
“How did you know to use these noodles for this dish?”
“This is because Thai people loved to eat vermicelli noodles ...

Filmed by Jaspar Paul notthefriendlyghost We'll be making banger food documentaries soon! Stay tuned!
Excellence work, I will mark that on the map
I appreciate the compliment! If you go to Tek Heng, you can visit Talad Phlu market nearby for more food. If you visit Sui Heng, there's a nice selection of restaurants around the north side of Saphan Taksin BTS (around Central Bang Rak area) And if you visit Lieo Liang Seng, there's always Chinatown to visit. Happy eating!

Great content and filming quality. I which the video was shorter, maybe 15 mins max.
@@rvp976Thank you! Noted!
Good job....❤❤❤❤
Thank you! More to come! :)
The food here is so authentic and the hawkers all seems kinder and very relationship oriented. How to go there by public transport pls from Asoke. Thanks so much.
Hello Allen! I’ll check back in a bit, but it seems difficult. I think its basically train stations to Lat Krabang Airport Link then a Taxi. I know busses are possible though
There’s a bus stop right before Soi Rama 9 Soi 5. It’s on Rama 9 road, a little east of Jodd Fairs (and past Unilever Housr). From that bus stop, Bus 150 goes straight there! I also suggest checking this place out if you want so you can hit two birds with one stone: Kwan Riam Floating Market maps.app.goo.gl/hYTRpCwpo4Wy8CVZA?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy I’d still suggest Taxis though, it’s a pretty local area away from a bit of public transport, but if you want the adventure then why not! Haha
I love this video please keep making them!!!💖
Thank you Jane! Was there anything that bored you? Would love some feedback! No pressure though :) Have a good day!
