as for the tile: the owners were trying to take advantage of the lady's kindness, she offered to fix what she broke but they wanted her to go out of her way and spend more then what was needed to replace either ONE tile, or the owners would tell the contractors to rip up the whole floor and make the lady pay for it since she "damaged the floor" rather then just have her pay for a new tile and caulk. as for the "buggy problem" the way i see it is a true test of the "golden rule" i dont want my car to get mashed by a buggy, or have to leave my car running just to move one out of a parking space. if i come across one or two on my way up to the store ill grab them, but only if they are in my lane. electric carts are another issue, as elderly and disabled folk cant always return them, so if its on the same parking row or half a row over you should go and get it, because it was left by someone who probably cant return it. (especially if its near, at, or after halfway between the edge of the lot and the store.)
