Just showing that "The hand to man band" cover I was guessing it would be experimental. I had to go to listen 무키무키만만수. That sounded something that would be work for suprise wife at morning. :D :D mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Both are pretty good albums.
Jeff, it’s just about time we had a video from you. Never worry about if you showed an album before. Most of us have short term memories so you can show it 5 times and we won’t know lol. Album of the year, dream pop. Interesting.
You'd like that a lot. NewDad.
will have to check out dorji, sounds up my alley.
Yeah... Lots of reissues on Drag City. Was very cheap on Amazon not that long ago. You'd like him.
hell of a wicked stack there. All over the place as usual. Rosa Yemen is amazing, it's Lizzy Mercier Descloux. I have that ep with her on the cover on Ze I believe. some of the best no wave plus love her first album too.
Yeah... Press Color is pretty overpriced atm. Been stalking it for a long time.

That's the UK release. French cover is better I think. This and her first solo need a reissue.
I've never heard of Michael Mantler before - he gets some well-known side persons! I have a Bush Tetras record - Too Many Creeps. Wow - I hadn't thought about UT for a while. I have a tape of Griller. Maybe I'll give that a listen. Thanks for showing the records and CDs.
Griller is a great album.
I read about this female singer & went and streamed some stuff of hers and it's truly amazing& unique..Name is Nilufer Yanya..She's half Turkish only 30 years old..2024 release.. Album titled " My Method Actor"on Ninja Tune Records.Under the Radar Magazine Gave the album A 9 out of 10 rating
Not sure it's one i would buy but I'm liking it so far. Thanks!
The only 3xLP worth listening to all the way is 69 love songs and Santana- 🪷 lotus and I'll die on that hill 😮
Perhaps. It's a lot.
I bought that Tolerance box set when it cam out, from VOD. Pretty extreme "post-punk" in the best way. Nice you got that Stirrup, it is quite excellent. Recommended by Teddy from Eat Sleep Vinyl.
The CD boxset? I might be good with the first 2 albums, but I haven't heard the newer ones.
Another very interesting stack Jeff. I have not heard the Tar Babies album. My cousin Joe was in a multi-racial rock/psych band from the sixties called Brother Fox & the Tar Baby. The guitarist Richie Bartlett went on to play with The Fools and the Nervous Eaters. Ironically I ended up sharing the stage with The Fools in the late nineties. I ended up talking to Richie about my cousin. It was nice to hear him say so many nice things about him including his talent. <> The Zvuku Mu caught my attention. All experimental? Excellent stuff. So many new ones that I would like to hear. Thanks J~ Rob/Boston
Yeah... I need a new copy of Zvuku... Interesting album.
12:50 It's always a good time for an in-depth discussion of Rock 'n' Roll Animal.
Def a top 5 live album for me.
Hi Jeff, I do like that Patti Smith album and as usual you show all kinds of stuff I have never heard of. Do you even have a Beatles record? lol
Hardly ever... I do have some tho.
Tolerance sounds a lot like Kim Gordon to me. You could eschew the vinyl and just go ahead and get the 5 CD box
What CD? Not on Discogs.
Tar Babies!!!!! SST Funk!
Great stuff. I love Uzeda and that latest album is great, just as good as their Touch & Go releases. I agree though their earliest Italian records you can definitely miss. You are correct about that LG label, releasing those archival releases. I was streaming the Young Ginns release last week. Big up for the first Swans too.
First Uzeda is definitely a miss. I'll probably have to pick up the other LG releases. Cheers
Every time you say Shawn you would like this I know to proceed with caution. I had a lot of Dinosaur Jr CDs in the old collection. They were just okay back then. I recently bought one of their albums and I really like it. I do have that Coleman album and like it because it was assessable ! Always a very eclectic listening stack
Yeah... Great Coleman and more accessible than a lot of his.
Hi Jeff. Real quick question. Is the music on that Pailhead album similar to Ministry's sound? Ornette at the Golden Circle is a fine listen. One of his best. You showed a few interesting albums. I will come back this evening and jot a few down. Thanks~ Rob/Boston
Pailhead was late 80s Ministry near their peak. Pretty similar in sound with Ian on vocals. Can hear a little DCHC influence tho. It's worth a listen at least.
ruclips.net/video/KIE8IEsahCk/видео.html maybe this is more your vibe this week ( mascis on drums, east coast hxc)
Not bad. I got some Gooblehoof too but...
5:55 some blasphemy speweth
Lol
Roger Ebert wrote Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. A must see. Valley if the Dolls was adapted from the Jacqueline Suzanne novel of the same name.
Yeah... I remember it being a great movie. Soundtrack is meh but it's fun to have.
I use to have that Lee Moses album, amazing I had an album you showed! An album that Shaun could not get past the vocals, not that really scares me Jeff. I did not expect Buddy Holly, felt like some real classic stuff. Always so varied Jeff
I need that other Lee Moses...
Just tried it again. Yep. Cant do those vox. I had a Young Ginns 7" in the 90s , didnt have a clue about Unwound connections or that it referenced Gregg.
Unwound x Nation of Ulysses doing DC style HC. Officially comes out end of this month.
Merzbow pressing Elitist! Is th4 name of my new channel so thanks for that. Just imaging gaggles of Merbow fans scratching their grey goatees and arguing whether the second click was intentional 😂 or just noise. Alex!! I WILL TAKE DOES THE NOISE RUIN THE NOISE FOR 400!! 😅😅😅
It was legit annoying... Lol
@JGYokohama1 I know, that's what makes it so funny 😂. Switch to some good American noise like Yellow Swans or Kevin Drumm and I bet that wont happen 😮 lol
I’m never seen the PIL album. Famous words from Jeff “definitely not for everyone”. I liked that London Brew album, UK has a pretty good jazz scene. Always an interesting batch of records Jeff.
That PIL you may not like... Lol
That Barbarians album is a classic. They were from my neck of the woods. But never really considered a Boston band persay. So that comp is called London Brew? I got to check that out after your ratings. Cool stack J~ Rob/Boston
It's more of an all stars UK jazz artist thing. London Brew. Highly recommended.
Interesting stack, I dont have any Partch but watched recently video where all his instruments were introduced and demonstrated. That Philippine from thrift shop did you say, so you got it with good price, cheers.
Yeah... NM all around. It goes for some money. I try to pick up those interesting field recordings when I see them.
An interesting batch of records. I like Flowers Of Romance but it is not my favorite PIL.
I kick myself for not buying an original Metal Box when I saw it... It's not an easy listen, but I love Flowers.
If you like Tom Cora-check out Skeleton Crew with Fred Frith! Excellent stuff!
Think I got that on my list already... Thanks!
Note taken Jeff, don’t get that CD, Haha. As usual a great eclectic mix. You have been busy on Doms auctions Jeff
I got a few that last one... Good stuff!
I have that Cure CD. Just the single disc that I got when it came out. Other than that it's all new to me (except Scrabbling At The Lock). Thanks for showing the records.
Hyper Gal isn't for you either.. Lol you'd probably like Ghost tho. Thanks for watching!
ruclips.net/video/XRYFAcFpdGw/видео.html
I had no idea that they reissued any Cherubs albums Jeff. I would love to get some of the reissues that were released on Amphetamine Rep. Great band. You showed some dynamite stuff. I did not know some of them~ Rob/Boston
Their best albums got a reissue... They are on tour now
Hypergal is streaming on YT music as Hyper Gal
I went back to Spotify
@JGYokohama1 you big platform jumper 😊
@@Shawn_at_Vinyl_Minimalist Apple sounds better but much smaller catalog...
I have been sitting on a copy in my cart of that Shipping News. One I've known on cd, love that band and the louisville scene at large. Bedhead is one of the greatest indie bands bar none. Huge fan. And the New Year of course which you probably know. (both the Kadane bros). Lots of likes for me here!
Yeah... Like New Year too but nevee bought any... That shipping News is essential.
Native Nod pull is crazy!!!
Numero has been putting out some great emo
Les Rallizes Denudes {Lay Ralleez Daynooduh} and the Flying Lizards are fun albums. I remember an interviewer asking Deborah Evans-Stickland why she speaks her songs rather than singing them. She said "...the answer is really very straightforward: Singing is more difficult." You showed some fantastic listens Jeff. From industrial to jazz. Reminds me of the early days of the VC when most of this stuff was being shared. Did you check out Sault 11? ~ Rob/Boston
I have not... Adding Sault to my list. Liking the samples. Thx!
My local store has an OG of that Swans album along with another one. I listened to it and that was difficult to last even a minute listening to. Someone else just showed that album also. I just couldn’t find any kind of song structure to it. Obviously I don’t understand industrial or free jazz lol
I've noticed more noise rock in your rotation...
I have SLUG 3 man themes in the car now, I like it. As good as Fugazi ?! Pssshhhh lol 😆 I dunno if I can get used to those vocals as well. If you like the throat singing buzz and homade instruments you should try Spacebow, ita not vocals but 2 homemade metal sheets they play with violin bows, in a similar buzzing register as throat singing
I tried streaming 3 Man... Not nearly as good but I liked it back in the day...
I agree about pj harvey, the demos box set is by far my favorite stuff from her. Cool stack of stuff. Happy new year!
Happy new year!
Retro gaming , interesting. I always wanted to do gaming but I just didn’t want to put in the time to do it lol. I did like a few military games I had on a computer, I would play them and suddenly found 4 hours of my day gone. Maybe when I retire?
Yeah... It's fun to build your own gaming machine. It can play pinball too. Check out stuff like Big Box or Batocera.
That Rat At Rat R sounds cool. I have the Paris-Concert. I picked that up about ten years ago at a flea market in Harvard Square. It was one of the coolest ECM's that I ever found for a dollar. Checking out Slaughter of the Dogs. You never disappoint Jeff. Dynamite collection~ Rob/Boston
Lucky at a dollar! I regret not getting a Japanese pressing
Sam Rivers is one I need to explore more. He's on that crazy Conference of the Birds ECM with Braxton is the only thing I've had I think. You don't need to apologize for liking an LP with 2 good songs, the whole scene does it with Joy Division. Lol😂
A couple guilty pleasure albums in that stack... Lol
That Pharaoh box looks tempting. I actually enjoyed No Code by PJ when it came out. Happy new year, Jeff.
It's a super price for the Pharoah if you can find one. Pretty good pressing too.
OMG I actually had a couple of the albums you showed. I have the A gray Samoans albums, classic, wish it was OG. I did have the New Dawn album but it was just okay so I have not gone back after it. I also had Goat, I really like that album.
New Dawn is growing on me but I think overrated...
That Chester Thompson is a good listen. Amazing drummer. I would love to find an original on Black Jazz. Super solid listens Jeff~ Rob/Boston
Yeah... I need more Black Jazz label
I liked Goat first two albums afro psych, but have not heard that one. I think they are anonyms but definitly swedish. Cheers.
Maybe? I haven't read their bio in a while... Haha. Cheers
@@JGYokohama1 Haa, I am Finnish and knew that their not, that was my logics, lol.
That Wurm album is awesome!
It didn't really grab me first listen... But I'll throw it on again soon.
FTB for the win. Take that Wùrm and see of theyll trade you towards WORM from 21on 20 buck spin. Little Rock is about 3 hours north, but pretty close regionally. Definetly the best PG
I do like corpse Love too... But I think it's my favorite.
It is exciting to see all the people giving the Material Objects EP a listen. Are you still working at home or have you gone hybrid now? Never heard of Redhead. Nice packaging but boring book lol
Bedhead. I love it. Think Richie showed it recently. I'm back in office faaaaar away. Hoping I can go back to home tho... Lol
I sampled a bit of that City of the Sun record - might need to give it a full listen. Love Bedhead - looks like a nice set.
Both are great! Super CD set with way too many words.
