I remember one of those slides had a booster on it. It would fill with water behind you as you sat. Then empty and thrust you down. Unless I dreamt it. Also remember a mini golf course and a wood maze. May have dreamt those too.

Wow! Thank you for the upload! I went here in 1987 as a summer vacation with Cedar Point on the docket. I can literally smell the sauna still. The best part-there were 2 middle eastern boys and an old Polish woman. They wanted to put water on the coals. She was vehemently against it. Every time they’d try she’d say “no! You don’t do that! You will get a burn or a hurt!”. Just an awesome memory & I love the early 90s hair.

I went in 1994 and haven’t been back! It’s a nice park. Those who are native to Ohio can be proud. Cedar Point is one of the most amazing amusement parks in the world. When I went in 1994, RAPTOR was the newest coaster. Did I ride it? You bet your sweet ass that I did. Nice coaster! Peace.

I forgot the Gemini is actually a pretty fun ride. I used to bag on the small rides I was a dare Angel and had to get on the tall ones

Those were great days at the Amazement park.

The guy filming knows how to drive down a mountain. The one in front rode the brakes all the way down. Needs to be taught to gear down. I think that’s why a lot of accidents happen on that mountain

I remember when I was a little kid I went to the arcade just before the park closed and one of the skee ball machines was broken and let me play round after round for free. It was a fun way to end a great day at cedar point!

What a blast from the past. The mountain into Tn was treacherous to say the least. I miss being able to drive up to cudjo caverns. It's called gap cave now. It will forever be the former to me.

Back in summer of 1987 I went there with my Aunt she and my cousins came to meet me and my big sister we grew up mainly in fostercare so i remember my aunt hugging the neighborgirl thinking that was my sister and when we were alone my aunt was saying Im sorry about that I thought u were Kellys sister my parents already had 3 kids already but decided to more were needed well Splash waterpark is where my youngest cousin wanted me to ride a ride with him it was weird when we lost grip of eachother but it was fun

It was a good double wedding ceremony for Aunt Geraldine and Brent, and Aunt Dorothy and this some guy at the Iron Furnace in Cumberland Gap, TN and it was 34 year ago!

Disaster Transport was new that year, they enclosed the 1985 Avalanche Run bobsled coaster and gave it a space theme. Now, it's gone. I rode it in June 1995, my only time at Cedar Point and didn't like it because of the coaster part. I don't ride coasters or fast rides because they make me feel sick or dizzy. I rode Pirate Ride several times and it was closed after 1996. The building is now used as a Boo Hill funhouse in the fall. I live near Dorney Park in PA where the Demon Drop is now. And Cedar Fair merged with Six Flags on July 1 and is now Six Flags Entertainment.

Always wonder if it's whirlpool employee day and if I'm there with my family. There all gone now and I don't have many memories of them back then. Thank you for uploading ❤

I live in Middlesboro. Love this video. This mountain was called ‘Massacre mountain’ by locals. Every one knew of someone that either died or was in an accident and survived on this road. I was so thankful the tunnel was completed by the time my children became of driving age. I would love to find video of old route before Cumberland Gap bypass was built. Use to have to go through little town of Cumberland Gap heading south to Tazewell, etc. Again, thank you so much for posting this big part of history.
