Earl Guthrie
Добавлен 5 апр 2012
Hello and Thank You for viewing my page. This page was created to be the home for music from my band "Earl Guthrie & the Boxwine Prophets", but I have also decided to place some videos and music from one of my favorite musicians and bands, Lowell George & Little Feat. If it was not for their music, I would not be playing music today.
I hope everyone enjoys what they find on this page, and feel free to check back often or subscribe to my channel to see what's NEW.
Thanks again for stopping by and viewing.

who else thought around 11:20 segue into Day or Night?
Hey man I,m freaking out
Excellent Southern fried music!❤❤❤😊
Brilliant!
Is there a sound engineer around to explain us what the double-Mic in the hand does / purpose ? Thanks !!
Edwina Lynn davis
Yeah, go ahead and watch the voice. I'm good. Ha ha❤
Little Feat were/are one of the truly great American bands. Loved by critics and audiences but never got the record sales they deserved. Once heard them described as a California equivalent of The Band, a pretty good comparison as far as I'm concerned.
I’ve been from Tucson to Tucomcari, Tahatchapee to Tonapaw. Driven every kind of rig that’s ever been made. I’m still willin’.
EXCELLENT!! Thank You for this wonderful piece of history.
This is a great Show! My Gosh, what a burning Band- firing on all cylinders. Loud & tight, no worries about the levels- that's good EVERYTHING: equipment, tape used, well mixed- UP^^^^^ no distortion, clean, clear, Hot everything. The Boys should have been Proud of this one!
I used to Tape Shows: from the Sndbd, Audience, whatever. I taped ALL of Live AID from the Audience & in the sweet spot - between Stage & Scaffolding & I NEVER ALLOWED A SONG TO BE CUT. EVER! THAT'S the most disrespectful thing I've ever seen or heard/heard of re Live Music. The only thing that might excuse such matters is a Zepellin or Dead Show w/out a second deck started to eliminate any tape cut>a 20:00 Dazed, Moby Dick, No Quarter, etc & almost any such situ' w/a few Dead Songs segued as a Medley type attachment with a few Songs/Jams woven together like they did. Other than that: it could be Sonny Rollins, Miles, Floyd, a few other things. In general it's disrespectful to the 🎼 & The Artist(s) to let it roll like that! What? saving Tape inches‽
Total treasure of splendour that shines forth with incandescent neon radiance just about as rare as rocking horse do do's, not to mention those do dads and do dahs. ☆☆☆☆☆
Feats with Fuller songs is mighty fine.
I drove through Oxford when this was happening and this is the first time I’ve heard this. Just fucking wow. Damn, how did I never hear this. Thanks for putting it out there.
We lost Lowell way way to early eh!
This was a very good Promo piece! I'm so glad it was saved. I'm sure it was in rotation & on the air as 'F-Troop' was on the air & a popular TV Show at the time. A great place to be in a Band, in the era of The Beatles, etc. I don't know if that was the case for The Mothers Of Invention but Lowell & Billy Payne did better by their own Fans, Band mates, label, etc than just walking around w/a Guy who played 'bicycle' on The Steve Allen Show (& not too well at it either).
I remember when the music industry was trying to promote this band as the next big thing. It didn't happen. I didn't and still don't get the hype as the greatest band people try to claim. Music is subjective and I suppose more people than not didn't get the hype either.
Just music. Great!
The host is “a low talker” lol
Just wondering, if the show listed below is Alexander's, what is this one? Is it just a different recording or is this West Hartford?
Such a Byrdesque sound!!! Groovy!!!😎
Mike wheeler on guitar…great player!
To my constant titinus whine. I am in your thrall. The madsterful misicality oc Fat Man in the Bathtub cancelles out the epic Constant intrusiin. Se agradece Rosa
Yes.
Very honest assessment of what happpened. Doesn’t sound like there was animosity. It’s only natural for musicians to want to branch out and try new things.
I was lucky enough to see the WFC tour in 78. Lowel turned left and the band turned right. It's their lives after all but can't help be think of what was to come. A combination of Jimmy Buffet and Steely Dan. With a Lowell solo record in between. Lowell just didn't want to be a star. What a loss.
I remember listening to this when it was originally broadcast. WHFS was your go-to progressive rock station if you grew up in the DC area in the 70s and 80s. Great bunch of DJs. They introduced me to so many new and upcoming artists like Little Feat, the Pretenders, Elvis Costello, and NRBQ. There is a documentary out now about the history of the station, with interviews with some of the surviving DJs and musicians from that period. Great memories.
What an incredible group of musicians.. Little feat with Emmylou and Bonnie? To remember a time when broadcast TV had live music ..
I would like a word with the person who cut that ungodly groove at 4:35.
Over The Edge 1979 ✊🏆
Should have left this one to the professionals mr palmer
Wow - I hadn’t heard this before! I love his cover of Sailing Shoes. It’s cool to hear Palmer’s take on this song.
C'mon people: if you don't like ads in your music, you can subscribe for a modest monthly fee.
Whistle test with whispering Bob Harris, loved it!
Plant was a dick back then and still is. His ego is bigger than Trumps. The saddest part about Little Feat is that so many people don’t even know who they were…….
I HUNG OUT LOWELL AT RICHARDS IN ATLANTA IN 72, OR WAS IT 73 !!! NICE DUDE !!
WITH !!!
World class band
1:01:28 !!
57:45 !!
Even believe I spotted the amazing Alex Acuna on drums with Weather Report. 37:42 Hell of a show!!
Came for Richie Haywood and the other Maestros of Little Feat, then found one of my favorite guitarists, Maestro Young, playing two blistering solos. Love it!!
Man do I miss those days. I wore the grooves of all my LF albums. RIP guys.
They'll never make them like this again. Thank you for the experience.
One of the best videos on the entire internet. I find myself coming back here
You’ve just made a 75yr old man very happy!
Speechless!
tight as ticks on a dogs a*se.
Brilliant
Seeing that boushie interview with Robert Plant’s at the beginning of tribute to Little Feet 👣 shows how far good taste in talent has evolved for the humble true musicians that deserve credit! 💕
