Theres 3 levels of veneration in the Catholic church. Dulia (Admiration and Remembrance) for the Saints and Angels. This reverance is to remember the work and devotion these people did to God. Hyperdulia (higher form of Admiration and Remembrance) this is for Mother Mary alone. She is considered the greatest Saint in the Catholic church. She is the one we should look up as an example of how to submit to the Lord, Luke 1:38. Latria (highest form of veneration, aka worship) this Veneration is for God alone! This form of veneration is worship.

Catholics know more than these Protestants. These Protestants only depend their knowledge and understanding on the Catholic's Bible therefore their knowledge is limited. Its more like they only see the keyhole. However, Catholics had all the archives of the old scriptures including those books they didn't included in the Bible. They even have a large number of scholars that studied the scriptures so there's no question they had the better understanding. The Bible wasn't enough to tell the whole truth. It's like we believe there's an airplane, a computer, a cellphone, etc. and we take these things as true and existing but we can't find these things in the Bible.

I'm not Catholic but I agree with the explanation here. I once attended a wedding at a Cathedral. Catholics and protestants alike attended the ceremony. The priest explained the presence of the images to the congregation. He said that we spent lots of time looking at evil images. So why not spend some time looking at good images. Images that represent Christ's salvation for mankind most of all.

The way I see it, if you try to make a statue of God it will be blank. He is Spirit. Hence I do not accept any object of God, He is a jealous God. Jesus tore the veil, new dispensation and the focus is on the heart. He told Abraham "Take those idols out of your house" Precedence even before the Ten commandments. If you don't get it forget about it. 😢😂

There is no such thing as God commanding us to break His commandment. He has reasons for why we are not do things unless He commands of it. One of His commandments are 'Thou shalt not Murder'. In 1 Samuel God commanded Saul to strike the Amalekites for what they did to Israel. He told them to kill babies, infants, women, and animals. Does this mean that we can make a decision to strike a nation killing babies, women, and animals if the nation strikes Israel? One may say this example is extreme, however "thou shalt not murder' is the 6th commandment and idols and images are the top 1st and 2nd . It is clear that images have significance as we see throughout scripture. Ezekiel 8:5 - Then he said to me, “Son of man, lift up your eyes now toward the north.” So I lifted up my eyes toward the north, and behold, north of the altar gate, in the entrance, was this image of jealousy. Acts 17:29 - Being then God's offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man. Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. 2 Corinthians 3:16 - And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. Colossians 1:15- He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Colossians 3:10 - And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator. Revelation 13:11-18 - "...telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. ... So my thoughts are there is a spirit behind imagery when we give reverence to or make it significant to us like placing it above altars, entrances, etc. So when God has Moses carve the images of the cherubim on the Ark of the covenant, it stands as sealed protection because it has the mark of God by the spirits that are God's angels. When we create images for reverence that were not instructed to us to do so, then we aren't protected by God. So we place ourselves in a position where deceiving spirits can attach themselves to those images. God is the law, when God says to do something like killing babies, it is no longer murder because God is the one Who gives life so He can take it. Same as with carved icons/idols. When it's from God, its not an idol but when it comes from the imagination of men, it is.

But why do Catholics bow in front of statues? I genuinely have been trying to understand this. 😢 I’m currently in RCIA, and my husband is Catholic. I just don’t understand how Catholics can justify kneeling in front of a statue of Mary while praying. Even if the intention is not to worship Mary OR the statue, that’s what it looks like. That’s definitely what it would look like to an outsider who doesn’t understand. I don’t understand how this is justified. Can anyone help me?

They do not have any God. Their is a created being, Satan the devil. The images representing Satan the Devil. Why do they have them all over theirs walls and even outside their homes? You carry them on your necks then you have the guts to say, WE DONT WORSHIP.
