It still baffles me how a club that has had issues in the past with dodgey dealing and other things to do with running the club let us get in the position that Power put us in, when will we learn as a club, it is what is holding us back, I hate to see Oxford doing well and even more so that Crawley got promoted with Lindsey as manager... Start to get things done the right way the first time and it stops alot of the issues and fan suffering...

I would say Rangers , Hearts, Dundee , Saint Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Queens Park , Motherwell, Saint Johnstone, Kilmarnock, Hamilton Accies , Airdrieonians, Queen of The South, all started out as Protestant clubs in Scotland. You can decide for yourself if they clubs still are or not. I would definitely say Rangers, Hearts & Airdrieonians still very much are Protestant clubs. For me, it's not about religion it's about political views now. Unionists or Nationalist / Republican they are one in the same. All I really give a dam about is when it comes down to it is can you kick or save a ball well & are you a fans of the other team if so your no good to us you cant be trusted in that case. I am more interested in this part of football, the social & historical aspect of football, than anything else, why & and how clubs come to be. The modern game is corrupt from the top of the bottom from F.I.F.A. all the way down in every single country where there is money, there is corruption. Growing up in The West of Scotland in a village we all just mixed it did not matter how you followed. I new Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, Saint Mirren & Partick Thistle fans growing up. In my adult life, I have come across fans of many different clubs at the end of the day. we are all fans of the game & myb not the business that cimes along with it. My family is very mixed and it could not be more mixed my views are my view & my own to know only.

I dinna mind saying it either. The old firm is dead because one team thinks it's OK to cheat fiddle and lie there way thru life. Rangers were favourably promoted above teams that had been waiting for years. They were that entitled they wanted put back in the top league and would have been if it wasn't for the other teams complaining. Rangers are now back to there old ways of cheating lying and fiddling there way to the top. Cheating isn't winning its cheating. But to Rangers cheating is the part they do best. EBTs feferees sfa and the news for not exposing it. And because the cheating isn't enough. They brought In VAR . 😂😂😂

I have been going to Millwall home and away since 1975, thanks to Sky and the EFL I have quit going from this season on, the 12:30 kick offs make it a nightmare to attend if you live outside of London, the coaches leave at 5am for the Bristol City match this weekend and it is literally impossible for me to get a train to Bermondsey that early from Surrey, to make matters worse for the club it's not just myself who goes to matches as My two Sons and two Grandsons also go to most matches with me, we traditionally have a few pints before the match so it's goodbye to that also, that means 5 less supporters attending from now on, the EFL have sold us down the river for the Sky money, just watch the attendances go down the pan, and to rub salt into the wounds they charge us £36 a ticket !!!!!

I watched the Borough from 1968 until they left Manor Park which was a fatal mistake. From being in the top three sides in Non League football to near oblivion is an almighty shame but avoidable. When the great Graham Carr was in charge in the mid eighties the football was brilliant. You couldn't blame him or the players who left for wanting to play or manage at a higher level, but sadly it went downhill from then on. The only game that sticks out afterwards was the 1-1 draw with Gareth Southgate's Middlesbrough.

  • @TheFootballFansShow

CORRECTION: In this video we stipulated that you could watch Saturday 3pm kick offs on IFollow last season, this was incorrect and has been removed from this video. However as people have pointed out there are ways around this but we can not advise nor endorse use of VPN's to get around FA laws. Though it is not a government law and falls under a legal grey area, where you could indeed use a service to change your IP address and pay to watch the games, on a technicality you wouldn't be breaking the law. However once again we do not endorse this and for this season that would be highly illegal due to the fact Sky Sports have paid for the rights of the EFL, so for this season if you did use this method you would be breaking the law.

It's a bit hit and miss, we've taken that part of the video out, there were ways around the blackout and the blackout itself is not enforced by under UK law therefore it fit in a moral grey area, where you can accuse people of doing something wrong whilst it technically not being illegal. However this season given the Sky Sports deal this method to watch football would totally be illegal under UK law.

  • @EverGameStudios

who's actually in charge of the blackout rule today, and who can actually cancel it? is it a government thing or a FA thing? while I understand the conception of it when it was conceived, in today's world it's actually counterproductive.

It's a football thing. There is no government law that says you can't watch football that is broadcast between 2:45pm-5:15pm, the fear for broadcasters is they would be in breach of their broadcast contracts.

I am a Coventry City Season ticket holder and have followed them since 1958. I also have a carpark season ticket. Unfortunately due to domestic reasons I can only attend sat 3:00 KO games. Last season I saw 8 matches due to TV shifting KO times. This season it will be even less. It's going to a live match which makes us fans of our own clubs. If I want to watch all the games on TV why pick my local team when I could follow any of the "buy success" premiership clubs. I doubt the 3:00 blackout of EFL teams will make much difference to lower team attendances. I doubt a Div 2 or non league fan would choose to watch Coventry v Plymouth or any other Championship fixture rather than watch their club play live.

I know it's probably not typical, but all of Swansea's home games before January are 3pm kick offs, other than the one midweek game, but 3 of our games have been moved to Sunday 3pm which I am fine with. Creating the Sunday 3pm slot suits me and probably a lot of other fans more than Saturday 1230. People moaned they never showed L1 & L2 but now they do they moan about that. The blackout should stay in place to protect non league teams attendances and revenues. 4:17 it was illegal to watch streams of EFL 3pm Saturday games even last season. You could only do that with a VPN. Not a very factful video to be honest.

    • @TheFootballFansShow
      @TheFootballFansShow 24 дня назад

There is no evidence that it protects non-league games. It has been proven in other countries that it doesn't make a difference. Non-League has a very different crowd and appeal. For instance, some of us like to go to non-league matches because it's a great place to just hang out and enjoy a drink with friends whilst also watching football (it can't be done in the efl or national league). 3pm matches constantly being moved will have a negative impact on families attending matches and thus failing to get young people into stadiums and thus not into football. In the short term, the deal is great, but in the long term, the potential cons outweigh the potential pros.

I've felt the blackout hasn't been worth it for Championship for a few years now. Last year as a Cov fan I think we had more midweek matches than Saturday 3pm home games, it was fairly crazy (that was due to congestion though). I feel they need to trial the removal for 3pm games even for a season or my personal idea would be to allow season ticket holders to watch games via the clubs websites (say £10 per game or the likes, but being a ST holder it means you still intend on going etc). Trying to get an away ticket to a Coventry game is a non-starter as we've always taken a huge following away due to our recent history with owners and disputes (supporting the club, not the owners). I feel for Sunderland fans who have to leave at bonkers times to get to places for a 12:30 kick off, same for Plymouth and even though my round trip to the CBS is fairly long (I'm near Hull) it still pales in comparrison. Also another one for just how bad the commentary is, I joked at the time that they were all probably in a room in London commentating on the games as they were constantly missing things that we as fans picked up on. Really pales compared to the BBC coverage which is pretty good overall (and is actually there).

So agree with the sky commentary absolutely terrible, I was watching the Bristol vs Northampton game and the commentator didn’t even name the players just said the Northampton player has passed it to another Northampton player and spoke without absolutely no energy might as well have had ai do the commentary in fact ai probably would have done a better job.

I have been a season ticket holders at Sheffield United since the 1990-91 season and this might be my last as I am sick and tired of fixtures being moved to ureasonable times and now I can't even pay to watch untelevised games on SUTV. BBC radio Sheffield do great commentaries but Talk Sport is dreadful with its constant plugging of their sponsors, nearly always betting companies.

The League Two games were on at 3 p.m. and they were on the Sky Sports + thing on the red button. The Saturday games are only moved a couple of hours here and there so it's not that bad. Got to set off a few hours earlier or arrive back a few hours later. Maybe a bit annoying for the really long trips but otherwise it's not that bad. Different kickoff times have always been an issue for fans going to the games, that's not a new thing that has happened because of this new deal. You can't take your child to a match in the morning and also watch your team if it's an away game anyway. And you could still do that it's a home evening game. You also moan about not having games a 3 p.m., but then moan that you can't watch them if they are at 3 p.m. So do you want a 3 p.m. game or not? The blackout rule is likely at this point to benefit the minor clubs that play in tiny local leagues with a couple of hundred watching. I agree in extreme cases like Sunderland, the kickoff times for some of their games are a bit rubbish. But for the most part, it's not that bad and if you don't think you can get there in time, just watch it on the Sky Sports + thing. If you want to watch a live feed of your team you can still do that by watching on Sky Sports+. The reason it's not on the website is that they don't have the rights now, Sky has them now. You were simply looking in the wrong place. I guess you want to watch it on your phone or tablet. Well you can still do that by using the Sky Sports app, you just need to prove you pay for Sky Sports at home by logging in. The lack of local radio commentary is a shame but I can live with that, never really listen to commentary anyway. Bottom line let's give this a chance for a few months at least.

I haven't gone to a match I'm about 29 years and that comes from someone who previously went to every home game for 25 years. Cost was the simple reason. Now it's simply unaffordable for me personally and I don't even have sky sports. Now I camt even listen to the game on radio. Kinda sad.

I thought the 3pm blackout was primarily not to impact attendance in the leagues below the EFL structure, i.e if your local team is playing in the 6th, 7th or 8th tier, you may decide to stay at home and watch Premier League rather than go and watch say Banbury United in National League Central. Of course by expanding this you are. potentially expanding that problem. Although, I do accept that I am less likely to stay at home just because Swindon Town are live on TV at a 3pm than if say the North London or Manchester Derbies were starting at 3pm

I really enjoyed the soulless commentary of the Wycombe Wrexham match. It would have been more exciting if he'd read the ingredients from a cereal box.

LETS TALK OVERSEAS FANS. Pompey are charging overseas fans $230 to watch games LIVE on the club web site. (This excludes games shown on TV, which could be as many as 20 games not shown) ) It works out - over $20 a game, not on tv. In the USA, Paramount+ which shows sky games, is charging $60 FOR THE SEASON for TV games. That works out at $3 for the games not on Pompey's web site. BUT - as I can also watch any teams games covered on TV, and Caro Cup, that works out at pennies per game. BY charging $230 Pompey have shot themselves in the foot.
