Why remove the fat?

Born in 1971. Was diagnosed right away with aortic stenosis. Annual check ups and monitoring until 1980, when my pediatric cardiologist decided I needed a cardiac cath. (Echo's were pretty much non-existent yet) It was decided that I needed OHS for a valveotomy. At that time, it was discovered that I actually had a bicuspid valve, which was "repaired" That repair lasted until I was 14, when I had a second OHS for a valve replacement, with a mechanical vale. That lasted until I was 42 when the valve needed to be replaced and upsized. It should have been done much much earlier, but up until the 2000's, they figured I would never survive a third OHS. Thank god for ever improving drugs and technology. So my third surgery was in 2011, and I'm still ticking, and hoping to never have to need a 4th OHS

Thank you for this. Gives me a good idea what it's like. Couple of questions for you if you don't mind. How is it noise wise? I know you're only supposed to drive through at idle, but multiple quads idling by can be quite noisy. Also, is it a "party" campground? Only rules seem to be about where you can and can't drive your quads, dogs must be on leash, firepits can't be dug or trees cut, and fireworks are only allowed in the main parking lot.

Wish we could get Tabor Corn. I saw on another uTube where he blanched for 5 min and cooled with blocks of ice. He also used cobs for corn chowder. Loved how you sucked the air out of the bags. He also folded the rims of bags filled them washed his hands then closed them. I liked that you taught us why blanching is needed. Thank you again.

In the individual pack, I'd rather have a leatherman multi tool over a picket knife. Also lack of fire starter & compass in individual pack. Two other things I'd add is chap stick & insect repellent.

Did/do you suffer from severe hair loss? I have hashimoto's and I lose over 300 hair strands daily for years I want to know if it's the cause or not for that

Through 2020 to now I’ve thought I had POTS. The past 5 days I’ve had horrid throat pain on one side. I had went to 3 doctors and over 100+ visits on pots. Today, just today I got blood work done after a new doctor suggested it could be a thyroid issue. Monday I will update this to see if I have hypo thyroid. Wish me luck this health journey is killing me.

How the heck did you get a Dr. to listen to you about thyroid issues so young? I'm in my 30s and get the dismissal wave every time!

Wish you would add a written recipe and list of steps with appr. times. Would add so much to your presentation. And many of us do not own Convection Ovens. 390 F in a conventional appliance will dry out the chops I suspect. Otherwise, a good presentation.

2024 and the water is even lower

I have had epilepsy with petit mal seizures since college. However I really don’t know details about them or the different medications. My mom would’ve been one to help with those memories but she’s gone. It has been frustrating for neurologists for them not to know these things. I do remember when I had my first grand mal. But several people were there to help fill the n the blanks. That part is something I really struggle with. Especially when friends & family insist I know & can’t believe I don’t remember. I’m really embarrassed when they’ve said it in front of other people I don’t know very well. After 6 years of seeing one neurologist & still having both types of seizures and multiple med changes I started seeing a neurologist who was part of a large hospital network. This was the best thing I could’ve done. After initial tests that you talked about it was discover multiple serious health issues that led to seeing a neurosurgeon & cardiologist. Had I never changed neurologists I would’ve been walking around with other health problems that could’ve been life threatening. I guess that’s one thing I would tell people…if you don’t feel like your questions are being answered or there’s no progress to go th different neurologist. Since he was part of large hospital system made referrals to other doctors quicker & they had immediate access to each others’ notes & imagining! I was eventually referred to neurologist who specialized in epilepsy & psychiatrist because of depression. again furthering the comprehensive care. Thank you for validating feelings & experiences we’ve both had during this journey! I liked your idea about journaling events …not only for ourselves but also for my children & grandchildren.

this is the first kit I have seen that recommends shampoo and conditioner; however, as will all these types of videos no one thinks of a towel. no one plans on getting wet or falling into water but it happens and having a means of drying off and dry clothes can make the difference between misery and survival, especially in cold weather conditions.

How does removing fat affect the taste? Otherwise from nutritional pov I will be fine consuming it.

I just saw your last video and I was impressed that you could carry that and for some reason i thought your kids were like 13 -15, i guess because you look so young. You are doing a great job and try not to let the nay sayers get to you. I've started a few potatoes in bins and laundry baskets. They're growing really well. Question I have is one container has turned brown. The rest of the containers are still green and growing. I never saw any flowers on the one that turned brown. Should I dig up those potatoes or wait till the rest of the containers get brown and dig them up all at once? Will it be okay to leave it till the rest turn brown and die back? This is the first time I've tried growing potatoes this way.

What should I do with my sprouted potatoes now?… it’s August…..?

Alberta has some beautiful spots to get away to for sure :) I'm busy & didn't get away much then an injury slowed me down I was putting siding on my cabin slowly getting back at it but hoping to head north in a couple weeks for some fishing I just tackled the paddle board last summer for the first time pretty cool :) Have you traveled to the NWT for camping ?
