when i was pregnant my bp rose so high the drs thought i was having a stroke, i ended up having my son at 26 weeks. i called my mom all throughout and she just said “keep me updated.” she lives in another state but i’ve seen moms travel for their kids & it breaks my heart bc they won’t even have the funds and still come. my mom makes over 6 figures, won’t let me forget it. when my ex blacked my eye & left me stranded she said “what are you gonna do? you need to figure it out.” when i had to have surgery bc of an accident breaking my shoulder she said “good luck.” my mother has never voluntarily hugged me or told me she loves me. the closest she’s gotten is “it’s not that i don’t love you.” if you have a momma who is there for you, please hold them close, tell them how much you appreciate them, do things for them to help them, give them gifts from your heart, please. 🙏🏾
