Woodchuck Chipper Blade Change & Adjustment
Просмотров 15 тыс.4 года назад
12 inch chipper drum style blade change and adjustment for most chuck and duck chippers.
I know this is a old post but where can I get my hands on that service manual. Mine needs drum bearings.
Can you email a repair manual ? I have a wayne Chuck and duck , I need help finding the replacement knives as well, it appears to look the same as this
You got a pic of the manual you have I’m missing the one that come with the one I just got I have a asplundh drum chipper this about the same thing
Thanks for the video. What manual is that? I have an old 12in Wood/Chuck chipper with a Ford 172 gasser. I would like to have a manual. I talked with Altec and they do not have records on old (maybe he said pre-1990) chippers. Thanks.
That’s no 1/16th or 1/13th those measurement are 13 thousandths and 16 thousandths, big difference!
The gap he has between blade and cutter bar look like over a sixteenth but your right about that!! Supposed to be a hell of a lot tighter than that at 0.016.
Hello i will line to contac you. I have cople cuestions.
Hello i have one similar chipper but i dont know how to adjust the baton part. Can you help me please
State of West Virginia uses these they're unsafe junk ,no safety stops ,good luck
Be a man
Thank you My dad has spent two hours trying to do this because he had no idea what to do
Is this one really loud?
Be careful and I feel that buzz of adrenaline I feel like I'm on morphine. Ok that's cool I love this loud hum.
Is there any way you can measure the length width and thickness of your lower anvil/ bed knife. Mine is missing and I need dimensions to have machine shop make one.
The anvil will be the same length as your blades which is the same width as your drum. Either 12" or 16".
@@CalTreeEquip what are the Torque specs for the 4 Gibs on each blade of a WC12 also the specs on the bed plate big 2 bolts. thanks
@@sc5102day I just get them as tight as I can with a wrench. I have 5/8th Spud wrench I use with 12" cheater. Maybe 80 psi. Then the anvil bolts are big. You could look it up on a torque chart but I put everything I got on them with a 3/4" breaker and a 2' cheater. Must at a least 500psi I would think. Be sure the clean and lube all those bolts.
@@CalTreeEquip Thank for the info. Is there a way to tell the year of my Woodchuck? my info plate is missing. It has a Ford 300 and a round discharge pipe and a 25 to 30 gal gas tank. It has a safety bar on the bottom of the feed table which disengages the clutch and has a drum brake square lever
Thank you! The bolts on my similar chipper are pretty seized up. I can’t tell which way the bolts are facing/threaded... as in when accessing the bolts that hold the blades in from the back like you show do you turn counterclockwise (bolts are facing down) or clockwise (bolts are facing up)? I can’t seem to tell by looking at them and I don’t want to strip or round the bolts. Thanks
They are not reverse threads. So you will be be pulling to the left to loosen. You can only use a open end wrench so use some wd-40 on the bolts and tap it with a hammer to break them free
Joe Sabatini thanks!
@@joesabatini4260 Hey Joe mine are doing the same thing do you think if I put a little heat on them they would release because even with a good ranch and PB blaster and WD-40 they still will not come off.
If they get stuck you can just cut them out with a grinder. Altec has them available. Think they are called nipple bolts. The pockets are replaceable as well. they just press in.
Thank you for the info!
