    C. Ophthalmology. This is a case of Oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis ( since it involves <4 joints) for more than or equal to 6 weeks. Oligoarticular JIA has an important and common complication- Anterior uveitis characterized by pain and redness of the eye. So as soon as the case is diagnosed clinically, send the child or ophthalmological evaluation by slit lamp examination to exclude anterior uveitis.

    B) Pox virus. Diagnosis is Molluscum contagiosum caused by Pox virus. Characterized by nodular lesion with central depression/ umbilication. Usually no treatment is required if the child is not bothered by it. But if bothered, then cryotherapy is the choice of treatment.

Normal Jugular venous pulse also knows as Jugular venous pressure (JVP) explained in an easy way. Cardiology section. The jugular venous pulsation has a biphasic waveform. The a-wave corresponds to right atrial contraction and ends synchronously with the carotid artery pulse. The peak of the 'a' wave demarcates the end of atrial systole. The x descent follows the 'a' wave and corresponds to atrial relaxation and rapid atrial filling due to low pressure. The c wave corresponds to right ventricular contraction causing the tricuspid valve to bulge towards the right atrium during RV isovolumetric contraction. The x' descent follows the 'c' wave and occurs as a result of the right ventricle pulling the tricuspid valve downward during ventricular systole (ventricular ejection/atrial relaxation). (As stroke volume is ejected, the ventricle takes up less space in the pericardium, allowing relaxed atrium to enlarge). The x' (x prime) descent can be used as a measure of right ventricle contractility. The v wave corresponds to venous filling when the tricuspid valve is closed and venous pressure increases from venous return - this occurs during and following the carotid pulse. The y descent corresponds to the rapid emptying of the atrium into the ventricle following the opening of the tricuspid valve.

Larynx( paired cartilages) model spotting explained in detail by Dr. M. Taha Hussain. The three paired cartilages of the larynx are arytenoid, corniculate, and cuneiform. The arytenoid cartilages are a pair of small three-sided pyramids that form part of the larynx, to which the vocal folds (vocal cords) are attached. These allow and aid in the vocal cords' movement. The corniculate cartilages (cartilages of Santorini) are two small conical nodules consisting of elastic cartilage, which articulate with the summits of the arytenoid cartilages and serve to prolong them posteriorly and medially. The cuneiform cartilages also known as cartilages of Wrisberg are two small, elongated pieces of yellow elastic cartilage, placed on either side, in the aryepiglottic fold. Larynx (unpaired cartilages) model spotting explained in detail by Dr. M. Taha Hussain. The three unpaired cartilages are the epiglottis, thyroid, and cricoid cartilages. The thyroid cartilage is a large, prominent structure that is easily visible in adult males. It is composed of two sheets (laminae), which join together anteriorly to form the laryngeal prominence (Adam's apple). The epiglottis is a leaf-shaped flap of cartilage located behind the tongue, at the top of the larynx, or voice box. The main function of the epiglottis is to seal off the windpipe during eating, so that food is not accidentally inhaled. The cricoid cartilage is a ring of cartilage that surrounds the trachea, or windpipe. It is located near the middle and center of the neck. This cartilage consists of strong connective tissue constituting the dorsal (back) part of the larynx, or voice box. Video courtesy: Dr. Khizra Qazi, Dr. Hira.

Muscles of the head and neck model spotting for Second-year MBBS and BDS students. The muscles of the head and neck perform many important tasks, including the movement of the head and neck, chewing and swallowing, speech, facial expressions, and movement of the eyes. The facial muscles are a group of about 20 flat skeletal muscles lying under the facial skin in the head. Most of them originate from the skull or fibrous structures and radiate to the skin through an elastic tendon. Facial muscles- Occipitofrontalis, orbicularis oculi, corrugator supercilli, procerus, nasalis, orbicularis oris, levator labii superiorsis, zygomaticus minor, buccinator, zygomaticus major, levator anguli oris, risorius, depressor anguli oris, depressor labii inferioris, mentalis, platysma. Vascularization- All supplied by the facial artery Innervation- All supplied by the facial nerve The neck muscles, including the sternocleidomastoid and the trapezius, are responsible for the gross motor movement in the muscular system of the head and neck. They move the head in every direction, pulling the skull and jaw towards the shoulders, spine, and scapula. Working in pairs on the left and right sides of the body, these muscles control the flexion and extension of the head and neck. Working individually, these muscles rotate the head or flex the neck laterally to the left or right. Neck muscles contract to adjust the posture of the head throughout the course of a day and have some of the greatest endurance of any muscles in the body.

The facial muscles are a group of striated skeletal muscles supplied by the facial nerve (cranial nerve VII) that, among other things, control facial expression. These muscles are also called mimetic muscles. They are a group of about 20 flat skeletal muscles lying under the facial skin in the head. Most of them originate from the skull or fibrous structures and radiate to the skin through an elastic tendon. Contrary to the other skeletal muscles they are not surrounded by fascia (except the buccinator). The facial muscles are positioned around facial openings (mouth, eye, nose, and ear) or stretch across the skull and neck. Facial muscles- Occipitofrontalis, orbicularis oculi, corrugator supercilli, procerus, nasalis, bicularis oris, levator labii superiorsis, zygomaticus minor, buccinator, zygomaticus major, levator anguli oris, risorius, depressor anguli oris, depressor labii inferioris, mentalis, platysma. Blood supply- All supplied by the facial artery. Innervation- All supplied by the facial nerve.

Orbits, bony framework, nasal septum, and lateral nasal wall model spotting explained in detail by Dr. M.Taha Hussain. The orbit appears as a quadrangular pyramidal cavern in the upper face. It is made up of four facial bones and three cranial bones: maxilla, zygomatic bone, lacrimal bone, palatine bone, frontal bone, ethmoid bone, and sphenoid bone. The nasal septum is composed of five structures: -perpendicular plate of the ethmoid bone. -vomer bone. -the cartilage of the septum. -crest of the maxillary bone. -crest of the palatine bone. The lateral wall of the nasal cavity is formed partly by the maxilla, partly by the ethmoid bone, and partly by the perpendicular part of the palatine bone.

An eyelid is a thin fold of skin that covers and protects an eye. The levator palpebrae superioris muscle retracts the eyelid, exposing the cornea to the outside, giving vision. The tarsal plates are located deep to the palpebral region of the orbicularis oculi muscle. There are two plates; the superior tarsus (upper eyelid) and inferior tarsus (lower eyelid). They act to form the scaffolding of the eyelid and are composed of dense connective tissue. The lacrimal apparatus is the physiological system containing the orbital structures for tear production and drainage. The lacrimal glands are paired, almond-shaped exocrine glands, one for each eye, that secrete the aqueous layer of the tear film. They are situated in the upper lateral region of each orbit, in the lacrimal fossa of the orbit formed by the frontal bone.

Eye model spotting explained in detail by Dr. M.Taha Hussain for OSPE. The human eye is an organ that reacts to light. As a conscious sense organ, the human eye allows vision; rod and cone cells in the retina allow conscious light perception and vision, including color differentiation and the perception of depth. The sclera is a white outer layer of the eyeball. The conjunctiva is a tissue that lines the inside of the eyelids and covers the sclera (the white of the eye). The lens is a transparent biconvex structure in the eye that, along with the cornea, helps to refract light to be focused on the retina. The iris is a flat and ring-shaped membrane behind the cornea of the eye with an adjustable circular opening in the center called a pupil. This is the structure that provides an individual with eye color. There are six extraocular muscles that move the eyeball. These muscles are named as the superior rectus, inferior rectus, lateral rectus, medial rectus, superior oblique, and inferior oblique.

The outer ear, external ear, or Auris externa is the external part of the ear, which consists of the auricle (also pinna) and the ear canal. It gathers sound energy and focuses it on the eardrum (tympanic membrane). The middle ear is the part of the ear between the eardrum and the oval window. The middle ear transmits sound from the outer ear to the inner ear. The middle ear consists of three bones: the hammer (malleus), the anvil (incus) and the stirrup (stapes), the oval window, the round window, and the Eustachian tube. The inner ear, also called the labyrinth of the ear, part of the ear that contains organs of the senses of hearing and equilibrium. The bony labyrinth, a cavity in the temporal bone, is divided into three sections: the vestibule, the semicircular canals, and the cochlea.
