Be in the know when you mow! 🤓
Here are some of our go-to mowing tips for a beautiful lawn…
🌱 For long grass, cut it in stages - it’ll cause less stress for you and the grass!
🌱 If your grass is dry, avoid mowing it.
🌱 If your grass is sodden, avoid mowing it.
🌱 With slow-growing grass, again, avoid mowing it.
🌱 In heatwaves, keep your grass longer to protect it from the heat.
🌱 Mix up your mowing pattern - it encourages better grass growth.
🌱 Sharpen your mower blades; blunt blades cause more damage to your grass.

where do you get the top soil?
👍👍👍
I wish I saw this before as I’m about to do my messy garden and I have no experience at all sadly I’m not lucky at all
Thanks for your advices, I’m going to prepare my small garden to lay turf following your advice , I have no experience but I will try 👍
Water on leaves doesn't lead to scorched leaves.. Wtf do you think rain is
Did George say how thick the turf is?
I look forward to harvesting my mushrooms every year. A small inconvenience for a big reward.
Bull. Marestail or horse tail can penetrate even Geotextile. This is incorrect
Once i have prepared the soil, do i have to wait a few weeks before i lay the turf, or can this be done the same day as prepping the soil? I've seen a few different answers, and I'm not sure which is correct
Good detailed advice and video, thanks
Good to know
George is hot!😂
Why the need to add soil to soil?
It helps the lawn stay healthier mate 😂
How many year will last
I have seen online that you should add 6inches of good topsoil. Does this mean that i would need to dig out 6 inches of old dirt from my garden?
Not if you have good soil already. Turn it over, rake it smooth, heal or roller it then rake smooth again prior to laying the turf. If your soil is poor quality then it may be worth removing some or all of it then replacing or blending in some new topsoil.
I think they raised the grass up.. seems hilly at last shot, looks better.
What was the actual point in that idiots
You took out perfectly fine grass to replace with turf rolls. Why?
Some seed and feed......ta da!
How do you take care of a newly or freshly laid turf
Good work George.
Many thanks!
What is the BEST alternative to using the hose pipe, if you don’t have a hose pipe on the side of your house?
There are a few options to consider. One option is to invest in a tap connector, which can easily be purchased from a local shop. This connector will allow you to attach your hose to your kitchen or bathroom sink, providing a convenient and reliable water source for your outdoor needs. Another environmentally friendly option is to install a rainwater collection system otherwise known as a water butt. Collecting rainwater has numerous benefits, particularly for maintaining a healthy turf. By storing rainwater, you can reduce your reliance on traditional watering methods and conserve water resources. When it's time to water your turf, simply use a watering can to distribute the collected rainwater. While this method may take a bit longer than using a hose pipe, your turf will thank you for the natural and nourishing hydration it receives. Lastly, the good old natural rain can also be an excellent alternative to using a hose pipe. BUT you can't always rely on mother nature to be consistent.
Drink a lot of water and hope no one is walking by when you have to do your business.

?
Hi, the timing for when to mow and when to walk on new turf are slight conflicting - be good to make that clearer.
Wrong
Hi George, I asked for an artificial grass quote but I got natural grass instead as I was not around when it was done. When I complained the man said I asked for turf. How do I handle this please? Thank you.
Hi Convergence of Health Minds. I would go back and reference any written quotes, or contracts detailing the schemes of work to be undertaken. Its very likely that this could be a genuine miscommunication error, if you go back to the installer and consult all your documentation you should be able to reach a compromise between both parties. Best regards - George
@@gdturf Thank you 🙏🏾
if you want the water to get to the roots of the sod ... use a flat tine pitch fork and poke a lot of holes in each piece of sod .... it allows the water to quickly pass through and it helps to break up the sods compacted soil
Nice I'll do that thanks
Or use a wetting agent, beware, there are many such agents available aimed specifically at hydroponics, they are extremely expensive, the main ingredient in most of these wetting agentsd is "Yucca extract", this is available in powder form, a pinch per 5 litres and you're good to go, my "potion" uses Yucca extract, seaweed extract (I've found the best to be Shropshire Seaweed, cheap via dilution ratios and extremely good stuff) and the last ingredient, smells atrcoius, comfrey. Can I just add an ammendment to the advice of watering, watering too often, whilst great for the grass itself, it can (and often does) have bad impact on root growth, they become lazy and will not "search" for water.
Wow turf thanks George Davies I’m esta tickets
PLEASE DO YOU EXPORT TO WEST AFRICA?
To much
This was really informative - thanks!
Thanks Jack!
New lawn growing rapidly and tends to flatten easily, especially in area which have less sun light. Any tips?
Thank you for the advice. My new lawn which was laid about 3.5 weeks ago has firmly rooted. It's quite long now and I've read so much conflicting advice about when to give it its first cut at a high setting and when to feed it its first fertiliser suitable for Autumn. It's looking good and a gorgeous green colour and seems to be doing well. I am a bit nervous though about doing something wrong at this early stage of its development.
What fertiliser do you recommend for a newly laid lawn to help it establish. It is being laid now (Autumn)
ruclips.net/video/pSeONgSCCb8/видео.html
My kids and contractors have been stepping on our newly laid SOD. We have divets now. What is the best way to treat this unevenness?
Top soil over the divets and level. Grass will grow through
YourMateTagney so top soil over?would it not be easier and quicker rolling the lengths back up and filling in the holes and then rolling them back down
@@spanishpolice6950 could try that too if ya want
YourMateTagney thanks bud..what do think is best?i laid a lawn couple of days ago did my best to level it but it still looks a bit wonky I didn’t mean to come off cheeky in my last comment looking for advice off some1 with a bit of experience
Awesome info.... thank you!
Great video thank you. Can you recommend a decent fertiliser please?
