Acrylic fluid art creations
I have been creating acrylic pours for just over a year and I’m loving the learning journey, I have had no previous experience of this wonderful technique. If you are a beginner or thinking of trying out acrylic pouring, this could be the channel for you. I will be creating a playlist in the near future of How to/Tutorials videos about Art because I believe anyone has the ability to express how they feel through painting.
I would love to share my experiences with you and you share with me your experiences especially if you are new to fluid art, let’s grow together 😊

This was not what I was expecting in attempting this Dutch Pour

Happy Independence Day USA 🇺🇸 This was a catastrophic fail, I should have re-checked the consistency of my paints, should have been slightly thinner including the base and why did I add the yellow. Anyway, I need to pull my socks up, I feel like I have taken several steps back, sorry to let you all down as well as myself.

Not all canvases need priming but every now and again you might purchase some online like I have to find that they are not a good quality, you get what you for right? Well in this video I show how I prime my canvas if I feel it’s not up to the job, most canvases are triple primed some have only 1 layer. It's a beautiful flower Kat, it's a great achievement, 1 of a kind almost like a mandala. I had success with my straight pour last night woo hoo😂🎉
@@Rainbowsandswirls47 that’s fabulous, see if you can put a photo of it in my community chat or find me on Facebook under Kat’s Fluid art creations, I think there is a link to my Facebook here on my channel, I’d love to see 😊 thanks, this is a working progress this (I hope) new technique and thank you thats the word I was looking for, mandala. Reverse mandala puddle dip 😆😊✨🫶🏻
I love the new technique
@@user-vi2bi1je5u well I hope it’s a new technique, I’ve never seen it done before so I’ll be doing more of these, working progress, thanks for watching 😊✨🫶🏻
It's beautiful. A message from experience, it would be helpful if you would edit.
@@user-vi2bi1je5u Hi Samantha, yes, sorry it was a long video, I did take out 20 minutes but some of my subscribers that are beginners like the talk through of the technique but now I have done this once, next time I can speed it up and cut more out, thank you though 😊✨🫶🏻
It's beautiful. I've never seen a flower come out like this one. Fiona has done flowers using puddles, but not like yours. I'm a new subscriber to you and look forward to more.
@@janebrownell6828 thank you for subscribing and for watching Jane. I’ve seen Fiona Art do flower dips, the word I was looking to call it is a mandala dip, watch this space, they’ll be more of these, Reverse mandala dip or something along those lines 😊✨🫶🏻
Not sure about the ⚫️ black background, what do you think about using a dark purplely glittery type just to look like the Galaxy with white star bursts I love the idea of turquoise/hues of blues/green, with golds and "sunny" colours. The middle of this one looks like a lily that's exploded 🎉, also, don't put your work down. None of it looks "bluerk"!!😮 I'm shouting at you to put more blue on, but you can't hear me😂😅 it's beautiful. I want the kitchen paper, cos I bet that's gorgeous when it's all dries and cracked! I'd frame that paper😮😅😊 xxx
@@juliagibson834 you’re a scream Jules 😆😁 but I like the sound of dark purple and white, my mind is ticking 😁🤔now. Thanks for watching and we’ll catch up soon 😊✨❤️
Brilliant ❤xx

Phew, I’m exhausted after this, my back from stooping over but it was worth the pain. Obviously this technique I will continue to develop so it’s a working progress at the moment, this will continue 😊✨
That is beautiful 🎉

Loving the colours , the straight pour gives a lovely affect with the wispy look. Keep going you are an inspiration to us all ! Gill xx
@@user-uc5ih9xm9x Thank you Gill, the lighting on my camera is not good, the colours are so rich especially the orange/yellow iridescent, the obsidian and vandyke brown have a green hue but that’s the lighting doing that. Thanks for watching and your support 😊✨🫶🏻
I use a little squirt f Gac 800 and it helps cracking! Love from NB Canada!
@@brendataylor5928 thank you Brenda, I’m not sure if that’s available here in the UK, I’ll do some research, thanks for watching 😊✨🫶🏻
1st comment yay😊 it's beautiful, patterning is unique, I want to do patterns like this. Thanks for your videos Kat. 🎉
@@Rainbowsandswirls47 yay a comment 😊, thank you for watching and it’s drying beautifully. Have a good at it, it’s a good one to try either as a straight/ring pour or travelling/wondering. The patterns come from the different heights as you pour from the cup and the different directions 😊✨🫶🏻
Oh my, you will not believe how long this video has taken to upload…24hrs and 3 attempts. I was able to release a quick short 😮
Kat thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am new to fluid art and have many muddy canvases. I have subscribed to you and although you weren't happy with this result it's as useful to learn from others mishaps as it is to their perfections ! I will be back ! ❤ ps I still like the result !!
@@janeplant3922 thank you so much and thanks for subscribing and watching, we’ll learn together 😊✨🫶🏻
Too much empty space
@@genevatilley2317 thank you for watching 😊
Kat colours are lovely. I have the little blue hair dryer and I found that it dried paints too quickly before I created my designs. I will try just paints and water next time I think and see if paints move better. I also have the mini blower with attachments which blows cool air, bought on Etsy, I'm in uk. Hope this helps 😊🎉
@@Rainbowsandswirls47 Brilliant thanks for watching, I’m in UK too. I like the hairdryer but it only has 2 speed settings and no heat settings so makes sense in what you say, I’ll look into the mini blower and will definitely just use paint and water next time 😊✨🫶🏻
I love yellow, so I think it’s great.you could have done some balloon kisses, they always look beautiful.thank you for sharing 😊
@@Lee-Anne-ow3uo Thanks Lee-Anne, oh jeepers I didn’t think, yes, I could, right, better buy some 😆, thanks for watching 😊✨🫶🏻
You kept at it! Will be waiting for what you do next!
@@KimLewis-mm9be Thank you Kim, I won’t give up on it, I’ve had some really good results in the past too. I’ll try it again soon, thanks for the support 😊✨🫶🏻
Looks like towards the end you got your mojo and scooped some of that base coat up and incorporated it into your blow, that really seemed to help. I think it's pretty
@@user-pb8jp9qv4k oh Elaine, you’re too kind, I made too many mistakes. I’ve scraped it, will do something different with the canvas, I have a plan 😊✨🫶🏻
The paints don't seem to move well. What setting do you use on your hairdryer? I love the colors and the layout. I can't even do this much yet.
@@VThompson-ow2pi too true lol, I was exhausted, I thought the paints were thin enough but alas no, it’s so hard to get it right sometimes, I shan’t give up though, thanks for watching 😊✨🫶🏻
I like the yellow. But I feel the purple looks a bit flat. But that could just be how I'm viewing it. You haven't failed. The thing is, a lot of newbies will have things go wrong, and it's nice that someone with more experience isn't afraid to show that art is not always perfect. And like in nature, you come across flaws. A very good attempt. Thankyou for sharing. ❤ xxx
@@DeannaMiller-kw4px thanks De, a year in I shouldn’t be making these mistakes, Paints were on the thick side so not gliding but no matter, I scraped it all off and will reuse the canvas and the paint will be used as a flow extender so no wastage
Love it!
@@Irene-Donald thank you so much 😊✨🫶🏻
Don't think I will try it. My kitchen would be a disaster. 😮
Love the colors.

Hey Kat do you make your own canvas frames if not could you give me a link? Only on my fifth attempt at this malarky so any help would be appreciated :/ thanks. Mick
@@mickgof Hi Mick, no I don’t make up my canvases, I buy them from Amazon, I usually just look for good deals and offers they have, these are what I’m looking at buying next but these are large as in this video, hopefully the link will work as I’m in the UK 😊 m.media-amazon.com/images/S/sash//cxfxW9mXeoKT4Ys.svg
Paints quality definitely affects the results that you are going to get, these looked fabulous in wet stage .The only thung was it looked uneven, but still beautiful 💜💜,ms Kat
@@resinartists Hello my lovely Sudja, thank you and yes I agree, it was uneven, that was my lack of confidence and experience, I will be attempting this again using Amsterdam Titanium White as the base. Thanks for watching 😊✨❤️

Thank you so much for doing this video. I am a bigger and have 2 small canvas i would like to put on my wall, so seen how you varnish was what I needed. Again thank you for doing the video.🎉❤
@@cathyhaase1550 you’re welcome Cathy, glad it helped you and good luck with the varnishing 😊✨🫶🏻
The colours are fabulous, it's a beautiful design. Dutch is not an easy technique to learn, I recently tried it with fails and a couple of successes, I need to practise more and paints thinner. Yours is way better than mine 😊🎉
@@Rainbowsandswirls47 thank you so much, you’re too kind, I’m sure yours is pretty, we are our own worst critics but we just keep practicing and keep it fun 😊✨👍
Thank you for replying. I will give this a try.
Did you do anything to the tile before pouring? Beautiful
@@cathyhaase1550 thanks Cathy, I just used a wet wipe to clean any dust off, in fact this is the same tile I used in the other video, I just peeled the paint off, I didn’t like the previous one, too much cell activator, thanks for watching 😊✨
Well done ! As with everyone pressure is very difficult and daunting! So I think you did really well , don’t be so hard on yourself we all would like to learn different techniques! and you are our helping all your subscribers! xx Gill xx
@@user-uc5ih9xm9x thank you so much Gill, sure, I just needed to do practice without the camera 😆, just need to get my paint consistency better too, oh I wish we had access to better supplies in the UK, thanks for watching 😊✨❤️
Can’t agree more! The access to supplies in the the uk is so disappointing, it’s like doing what we can with what we can get or pay ridiculous prices on line xx
PS - You are doing brilliantly 👏🏻👏🏻
Absolutely gorgeous!
@@Davey2024 Thanks and thank you Davey for watching 😊
I love the colors
@@laurie7338 Thank you so much Laurie 😊
I think it's pretty....you are too hard on yourself. The colors are fantastic together. Maybe add some "wispy" tendrils to some of the flowers to elongate their flow? I don't have enough experience to even justify my commenting, but I do know it's not as bad as you think! I am subscribing now just to watch you do it again.
