The Bernina Stitch Regulator
I have developed a way of stopping and starting stitches when I am doing Free Motion Quilting. I use "Mode 1". I use the foot pedal and I take my time and practice, practice and practice.

Dritz Dress Form: How to fit the breasts
Просмотров 484Год назад
The dress form comes with a small bust. Everything else is adjustable. You a few extra notions, (some of them hacked) you can use this dress form for any size bust. My last dress form fell apart while I was making one of my daughter's wedding dress. I was in a hurry to get a new one. This came and it is the same one I bought 20 years ago but better. It is always great when that happens. I also ...
Glorious Buttonholes and Buttons with my Bernina
Просмотров 221Год назад
I love blouses. It has always been an issue to make those buttonholes just right. When I sewed with my mother we would slowly get through it, blouse by blouse. Now I have my B770, I put the button up on the screen and the rest flows. I actually get excited about finishing off the blouse or shirt, after all I do love buttons. Don't we all?
A Fabulous Finish on my Bernina 770QE
Просмотров 355Год назад
Modern Patterns call for a serger. I have developed a way of cleanly finishing off the edges with my domestic machine. My machine is a Bernina 770qe. But she will sew anything. I used for an example "One Seam Pants" by Cutting Line Designs. I am sharing a link. All of the patterns are designed by Louise Cutting. All of the skirts and pants have the best waistlines in my opinion. www.cuttingline...

Binding Completely by Machine

This is my the third way of applying the binding. It is becoming my go to method. I set ou on a journey to achieve an excellent finish. I love the way I can share it with others who share my enthusiasm for making beautiful quilts. Display and Store your Gorgeous Fabrics

have tried cubes for storage and I have tried baskets. Now I am using good old fashion display cabinets. I chose the Anda Norr cabinets by Sauder. The price and size was perfect for what I was looking for. My idea is to get a handle on overbuying fabric. I still want a lot of fabric but I want control of what I decide to purchase. One of the ways I am taking charge is highlighted in this video....
The Sew Expo is Back
Просмотров 285Год назад
The last Sew Expo in my area was in 2020. Right after we went into lockdown. This is 2023 and the fair was back. There were a lot less vendors and classes. Also less shoppers were at the event. The atmosphere was great. I am glad I went. Thank you to the people who set up this year's Sew Expo. You knew it would be smaller and you did not say "it is just not worth it". Instead you put in the wor...
This Quilter Wants to Sew Clothes
Просмотров 157Год назад
I love to sew and I usually sew quilts of all types. But once in a while I will make for my family and myself clothes and home decor. Since getting my Bernina 770QE changing over to a new task or project has become very easy. I press the little mannequin icon which is the creative consultant and it flows. No more tirelessly playing around with the foot pressure, thread tension or stitch length,...
Quilt Binding Completely by Machine

The bias strip is sewn on the top of the quilt, but instead of sewing on the back by hand there is another option that is to sew the bias strips down on the top of the quilt. It is like sewing in the ditch, but the binding is being sewn down simultaneously. I also show how to make mitered corners without the bulk. It also means there is no finishing off the continuous bias strips in order to fi...
Traditional Binding Part B: A Hand Sewn Finish
Просмотров 51Год назад
This is the classic way of putting on a binding part A is here ruclips.net/video/LzrmicmQgm4/видео.html This takes a bit more time, but is worth it. I listen to music, a podcast or a Classic movie while finishing off the binding this way. I do enjoy sewing something on my sophisticated Bernina sewing machine and then putting in the final stitches with a needle and thread. The combination of the...
Traditional Binding Part A

Finally, after learning how to set up the quilt and how to prepare the bias strips, it is time to learn how to actually finish the job. In this video Part A we will apply the binding by machine and in the next video we will finish it by hand. It is the method I have been using for years. I call it a labor of love. I especially enjoy this method, though it does take longer. I have figured out a ...
Creating the Bias Strips for Binding a Quilt
Просмотров 852 года назад
This the second video in a series about binding a quilt. In this video I am sharing how to make a continuous bias strip. I have begun to create a small stash of pre-made bias strips of 2.5 inches wide. I want to be able to audition fabrics in the same way I do in the rest of the quilt when I am preparing an appliqué block or a pieced block. By having the bias strips ready I find it makes it mor...
Preparing the Quilt for the Binding

After years of applying the binding and each time thinking it is as if it is the first time I have come up with a system. Every quilt is finished the same way. Every binding strip is the same. Then I use 3 different methods to apply the binding, Same size bias strip each time. I like to think of it as streamlining the process. Of course there is a little mini lesson included on how to use the f...
Embellishing with the 97D foot on my Bernina Sewing Machine
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.2 года назад
This is a remake of a previous video due to silly errors. I was looking for a solution to embellish yarns I wanted to have sewn down the middle of the yarn. I needed a narrow straight tunnel, which I found going down the underneath of my 97D foot. I use this foot for piecing and didn't realize it could be hacked for another use. I love the precision I get when I use my other feet for embellishi...

Sewing knits on my new Bernina 770qe. Using the Creative Consultant.
Thank you! Great tutorial.
It's the little things that you miss, that really make a difference in your sewing experience. I am not new to sewing, but am new to Bernina. I learned so much from your video. Thank you so much for posting these helpful tips. It's so great to know about the differences in the first three piecing stitches, abd how to access that info with the "i" button. I had a lot of good reasons to switch to Bernina. I am finding more reasons every day. 🥰
Thanks this is really helpful. When I first had my 770 I had trouble with piecing. I fully understand why now. Lots of tips, Thanks again 🤗
Can’t watch this with the music. Very distracting
Which D foot are you using on your Bernina for sewing this binding on?
you mentioned using a clover stylus pen?? Are these available anywhere?
This is the best tutorial I’ve seen on chain piecing and the 97D foot. No one ever told me about the notches😢 Thank you for that tip!
I just purchased this cutting mat. Hope I like it...
I just got a 770 qe plus. Are the stitch numbers different because I think it is 1301 on my machine. Just checking. Thank you.
Fantastic video-- thank you for this! I never knew about these stitches and the detailed explanation of the foot and seam guide were fantastic. :)
This looks so easy on a sample swatch, but not so much on a full size quilt
I agree. I plan on using "Quilt As You Go" methods more and more. I have stuffed big quilts into my B770 and I succeeded but my back felt the strain. It was much more difficult than when I finished off small art quilts.
Thank you for this video…i should take another stab at free motion quilting! Everything makes so much more sense when a person like you explains things, rather than just reading the manual. Your enthusiasm shows and is inspiring. I will check out your other videos! Char
Lovely tutorial. Thank you , for some info I had no idea about thanks so much!
You are so welcome!
This was great!!! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was great, thank you. Do you have a video chain piecing blocks together and what to set the program at to go over seems. I'm struggling with this right now, it wants to jam up and get off my 1/4" line.
I plan on. I am presently in limbo. We have moved states and as soon as we move into our new house, I will be off and running in my channel.
I have never had stitch 124 explained to me. Very helpful!
Thank you thank you thank you! I am doing a quilt with small 2 1/2 squares. I have a 97d foot and I happened on you tutorial. Wow ! I have a Bernina 570 QE so that stitch is 1301.. Thank you again
Amazing video - so clear and precise and best of all I learned so much about options on my 770qee which I have had for 2 years! Thank you sooo much!
Glad it helped!
Are you using your knee lift in between blocks?
Yes, I love my knee lift. It makes my starting and stopping much easier.
Yes, I love the Bernina knee lift accessory.
The 97D is my favorite foot and I can't wait to try this stitch. Thank you.
My goodness, what beautiful fabric! Do you mind sharing what country you are in. I'm in Canada.
Yes, thank you I am in the USA
Another great tutorial! Thanks!
My pleasure!
Thank you for sharing this! I'm going to give it a try.
Please do!
Thank you for that! I have an issue with my last little bit of fabric veering off and therefore it loses the 1/4”. Any suggestions? I try to hold it with my stylus, but doesn’t always work, so I pick it out and try it again…slow process!
I know this video is older, but this is still being sold March, 2024. I just bought one, waiting for it to be delivered. Your video just validated to me that I made a good choice. Another huge selling point for me is that it comes assembled 🎉.
I recently got the 770QE Plus. I am trying to get the perfect 1/4” seam allowance. I noticed you took that guide and placed it right on top of the feed dogs. Does this harm the machine in any way? TIA
I hope to do a video just on that subject. In the meantime I will explain. If you turn over the seam gauge you will see a cut out line. When you turn it over and put it on the machine notice it goes directly over the feed dogs. In other words Bernina created a space directly over the feed dogs and they will move without touching the gauge. I hope this helps.
I just purchased a pre-owned B770 QE. Your video is very helpful!! What sewing machine oil do you recommend?
I use the Bernina machine oil. That way I know it is the correct type. You have a high end machine and you want to use high end products to keep it in good condition.
One of the best Bernina demos I have seen. Well organized, good pictures and nice pacing❤
Wow, thank you!
Thank you so much for this detailed review! I appreciate that you explained your concerns and how this table exceeded your expectations. I need an extension for FMQ ruler work. my regular machine surface was smaller than the rulers in using. I've seen several different acryllic tables, but your review totally sold me on the Versa table. I can't wait for my order to arrive! Thanks! 🎉
You are so welcome!
Have you ever had trouble sewing precut half square triangles together with your Bernina? I had trouble with the seams curving when I did it on my Bernina.Thank goodness I kept my older Babylock machine.
Yes I have. I am back after a long brake. I hope to make a video about that.
Thank you this was very helpful. I have always had that problem of the edges coming undone as well. I am going to try this method THanks again
You are so welcome!
Wow, I will be trying this method, thanks
I just got the BERNINA 770QE Plus. If this is a quilting machine, I am wondering why BERNINA didn’t include the piecing foot? Also, how are you able to use that guide when, if sewing 1/4” seam, it lands right on the feed dogs?
I am going to make a video about how this accessory works. It doesn't harm the feed dogs at all.
Husband bought it as a Christmas gift. He sat in it while waiting for me to shop and thought it was comfortable. I could not get it in a comfortable position (basically I didn’t like it and would have returned it if it wouldn’t have hurt his feelings). Could not get that second lever to work. After watching your video on how to adjust that second lever, it was like magic! I love the chair. Thank you so much! 5:51
Hi, thank you for giving such a detailed explanation of the versa table. You covered all possible situations. Buying an extension table is an investment. My last sewing machine, a Baby Lock Decorators Choice only lasted 5 years and they said it's cheaper To Get a new one Than to fix the one I had. I ended up buying the same kind of machine because it was so easy to use but I have had it for less than a year and have had problems with it. My question is, is the versa sew steady table a more universal fit or is it specific for your sewing machine?
Thank you so much for this tutorial , the hover foot was driving me crazy each i time I stopped it lifted I’ve now corrected that 😊
Glad it helped!
Just bought my 770 Plus QE and excited to watch this and save it. Thanks.
I just got mine a few weeks ago also. It’s a whole new ballgame 😅
Thankyou! Upgraded from a much older machine. Learning curve your videos are excellent
Great tips. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this information. Just bought my Bernina B 880 three months ago and want to learn all the tricks to make quality sewing projects. I have subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to more RUclips videos.
Thank you---the clips are giving me pause too. I think I'll chance it.
Well done! Breaking it down and explaining all the things a user needs to know! Thank you! 🌹
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you soooooo much for your videos. I just purchased the same sewing machine and you are teaching me so much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You are so welcome. I love sharing what I know about sewing but especially with this wonderful sewing machine.🥰🥰🥰
I just purchased a B710. Your tutorial was very informative, I enjoyed it very much. I did not know about the details of the stitch functions. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us newbies! You are awesome!😍👍👍
Beautiful quilt…you love and efforts are reflected in it. First time finding you but just what I have been looking for. I love embellishing my quilts as well. I look forward to watching your channel.
Thank you!!! I have these, but didn't really appreciate them, until I saw your video.
Glad I could help!
I can’t thank you enough for this video. I have had my 770QE for over five years and have never figured out the perfect way to chain piece until watching you and your explanation. I look forward to learning more you. Right now I’m heading to my machine to do some chain piecing.👏
Glad it helped!
Thank you for responding so quick. I really wanted a pattern I could fit to me. I am 4' 9" with short arms & legs . So pattern fitting has been a tricky as I have aged. I,m going to give this one a try. Thank You
Glad i found you. I have the Bernina 790 plus. Such good info.Thank You.
Thank you for the great vedios. I would love to know the blouse pattern you used ? And I agree the one on the chain piecing was great also. Thank you
Your welcome 🤗 The pattern is "By Popular Demand", by Cutting Line Designs. The designer is Louise Cutting and all her patterns are amazing. I lengthened the sleeve a bit.
