A Matter of Time - Balancing Act
Hey, so sorry this channel has been dead for a while. My laptop crashed that had all my files and software and music on it, so it was very demotivational for me. I've started making music again and will upload some of my newer productions when they are ready. In the meantime I salvaged one of my previous tracks from last year. Hopefully you guys enjoy it!
Thanks for watching and don't forget to like, comment, fav and subscribe!
Peace.

    True, but technology can be dangerous in the hands of people not ready for it. If we blow up an asteroid that's threatening a less-advanced race, that's one thing. If we land on a primitive world and show them how to build nuclear reactors...well, that could get messy in the long-term. What's that old saying..."the road to Hell was paved with good intentions." All I'm saying is, we should be cautious when interacting with less-advanced peoples. We don't want to end up making things worse.

    ...the doom-sayers were wrong. We were lucky that time, but now the same thing is happening with our environmental crisis. We'll be lucky if Earth still supports life by the 22nd century! In closing, I think we should adopt a non-interference policy towards less developed species. Technology is destroying the Earth. Why doom another planet - another species - to a slow death?

  • @Mitchz95
    @Mitchz95 13 лет назад

    ...has utilized technology, I don't think it's a good idea to directly introduce new tech to undeveloped species. Our planet is in danger because we jumped forward too quickly, and didn't take the time to learn how to properly use new technologies. Take the first testing of nuclear weapons, the Trinity test. There was wide-spead fear that the explosion would be large enough to decimate the entire state of New Mexico. Did we hold off until we knew more? No, we detonated it and hoped that (cont)

    @extremoknight44 said: There is the possibility that they are a less intelligent species than humanity and we could show them very useful skills and knowledge. "History has proven again and again that whenever mankind interferes with a less developed civilization, no matter how well intentioned that interference may be, the results are invariably disastrous." - Captain Picard, Star Trek: The Next Geneation episode "Symbiosis" I must agree with that statement. Looking at the way humanity (cont)

    @sealeddragon286 Yeah we do, but in the future people will probably use wormholes to get there instantly, we are studying the possibilities now!!!

  • @extremoknight44
    @extremoknight44 13 лет назад

    @valarmanwe They're not. Well I don't think so, they might be but they are probably not. Scientists say that there needs to be certain conditions and things to start and support life. We study our planet because Earth has given rise to life. The planets in our solar system and the hundreds of other planets astronomers studied do not have the conditions here on Earth however there is the possibility that aliens which live on other planets are adapted to living there no matter what the conditions.

  • @extremoknight44
    @extremoknight44 13 лет назад

    @Blody1337 Over time humans will adapt to the gravitational conditions of that planet and become much stronger (because of the strong gravity.)

  • @extremoknight44
    @extremoknight44 13 лет назад

    @dee07able You raise an interesting point, why would aliens take us there? There is the possibility that they are a less intelligent species than humanity and we could show them very useful skills and knowledge. Or maybe they are a smarter race which has solved the problem of environment destruction using state of the art alien technology which they would share with us and have worries of us destroying their planet.

    @sealeddragon286 or we could build ourselves a giant ass interstellar ship that goes 1,000 times faster than the voyager....then we can gt there in just 73 years.

  • @boredandhungryTV
    @boredandhungryTV 13 лет назад

    @jayfey77 that doesnt sound right at all... our fastest technology can be maybe 50,000 mph... and its not possible to go to gliese 581 in under 20 years because thats breaking the speed of light... the fastest object we have ever made was a disk that shot up at 80 miles per second...

  • @IbombYourAss
    @IbombYourAss 13 лет назад

    The price for such a machine would be over 1 trillion dollars. And to send an object that large into space at 11,000 miles a second would have little payback for the country(ies) that built it, as they would never see it again. So to the people saying to send a spaceship to the planet would be the best idea, just think, unless the woulda wealthiest nations joined together to pay for it together, it's not happening.

  • @IbombYourAss
    @IbombYourAss 13 лет назад

    Would be 50k-100k people. You may think that's a relatively small number of people, but think of it like this, the international space station, which is the size of a football field, and is so pricey it takes multiple nations to build and maintain, can only hold 11-15 people comfortably. Blow that number up, and you would need a ship almost as large as BRITAIN. Financially crippling for most countries, and financially stressful to all nations

  • @IbombYourAss
    @IbombYourAss 13 лет назад

    Would be over 50k people but less than 100k people. To build a ship to harbor such vast amounts of people, it would cost a large amount of money. Think of it like this. The international space stations, which costs billions of dollars and is so pricey it take multiple nations to pay for it, is the size of a football field. It has a maximum capacity of just 11-15 people. Blow that up, and we would need a ship larger than the entire state of Florida to harbor the amount of cryogenic chambers need

  • @IbombYourAss
    @IbombYourAss 13 лет назад

    You're all wrong. 20.5 lightyears is approximately 120 trillion miles. The fastest man-made object, voyager 1, goes 11 miles per second. It sounds very fast, but at that speed it would take 350,000 years to arrive there. Now, blow that speed up by a thousand. 11,000 miles per second. This speed is the current estimate of most physicists as the fastest speeds humans will achieve in the 21st century. At that speed Gliese 581D would be a mere 73 years of travel away. The optimal amount of people

    having a new planet would only serve to make the human race imortale as to say the human race not inderviduals as if we had a meteor hit this planet then where gone so getting to outher worlds should be the most importent thing we could ever do but as some say we do need to pick only the best and nicest of us and leave the rest to change the planet back to being a clean and safe place to visit as there would most shorly be them dam tourists can you emagine the cost of a return ticket

    what! that sucks so hard if its about the same age as our sun the only reason to find another planet i thought was because when our sun transforms into a red giant or any other stage we are screwed. this SUCKS SO HARD I THOUGHT YOU GUYS RELIZED IT. some of you might say oh well that isnt until a long time but how about future generations to come? find another god damn planet!

    @dee07able you shouldn't worry too much, If human race stay somewhat peaceful like it is today and not destroy each other before then,it would take another 500 years before we can build a spacecraft that can travel there in just 20-30 years so just to confirm if it is really nice to live in. Then it would take another 500 years to organize a spaceship that can transport humans there just for exploration. And it would take 100-200 years more to colonize it.

    the only things you can really make out looking at a planet is landscape and things you can't look at a planet this far off and expect to see cities. plus this planet is 7 times bigger than earth so it'd surely be even less likely that we'd be able to make out cities and things on it looking at it through pictures we have of it.

    @dee07able Humans are VERY far-sighted when you compare us to every one else (other life forms on Earth). But, are we far-sighted ENOUGH to care about the enviroment? That's asking a lot from anybody. Humans are built to use spears to kill mammoths, not see the future. And plus, who's to say aliens aren't more pollutive than we are?
