The Best Scenario for Scout Motors to succeed is to produce a vehicle which is able to be Multi-Drivetrain. What does that mean, a vehicle platform that can accept both electrified and Internal combustion power plants from BEV, Hybrid, and most important E-REV! The Best of Both Worlds is an Electric Vehicle with a battery located under the rear passenger seat that is easily upgradable and replaceable which is recharged from an onboard ICE generator as a range extender when plugging into the power grid is unavailable or impractical.

I would like to voice my concerns about Deepsea Mining. In the Sept 2024 meeting record (posted on the State Departments web site) for UNGA79: The Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation it states: “A good marine spatial plan creates a framework for the sustainable use of marine and coastal resources, maintains biodiversity, and ensures alignment of government policies, community needs, and economic drivers” What is our position and influence on sustainable deep sea mineral exploration/mining/extraction? What influence/positions do we have with International Seabed Authority. Do we insist on complete, independent environmental impact statements? Do we insist on mining techniques that have zero or near zero impacts, based on extensive peer/expert reviews that are made public and that are not funded by the mining companies. Do we insist on independent third-party monitoring and public records. What are we doing to thwart the pacific island country NAURU's efforts to begin open uncontrolled deep-sea mining. This apparent rouge nation has destroyed their own land, squandered the income from strip mining their island, and now want to circumvent ISA requirements and controls. The deep ocean is the last (practically) pristine environment on earth. Ocean Mining (strip mining) of the seabed potentially could destroy an environment that keeps the earths ecosystem balanced. Ocean mining and the waste that it might produce could irrevocably destroy an ocean ecosystem that we are still far from understanding. The more the deep sea is explored, the more bio-diversity is found on the deep sea ocean floor and within the water column. Please let me know what policies we have, policies we are working for and what influence we have on the International Seabed Authority to require complete and independent impact assessments of mining operations. Please let me know who I may contact within the State Department on this issue of global importance.

Mr. Price makes me think of the amazing perspectives for the communities in the towns and country where Teck has development or mining operations. I think the environmental standards, sustainability policies, and company strategy to include the community through multiple programs, from employment to education, and partnerships, will ensure the continuity of Teck´s leadership as a miner and producer of critical minerals for the North American and the rest of the world.

Basically, all panellists agree that US style of economy system is not competitive against China's hybrid economic system. We maximises for corporate profits and China for "power". At the end, China as a country rises quickly to challenge US where people's living standard degrades. So, US put up trade barriers with allied united to block China's access our domestic market. The panellists basically advocates to modify US's economic system toward China's. Is it ironic to claim it was not fair?

Good moderator with good questions. Only the guy who worked in China and teaches Chinese history have some vague ideas about china. But his warning of not underestimating China gets unheard. The others are still chanting decoupling and that china will eventually collapse. These people have no idea, maybe have never been in china (and may never visit). These people get china wrong at every turn and shout unfortunately the loudest in the US. They don't get that any theory is based on assumptions, and if the assumptions are invalid, the theory does not apply. They think the economic theory they learned is god given, and since china cheats, it will not end up well 😂. That demonstrates quite low intellectual capacity. 😂 They also always forget the rest of the world, the global south. Even their allies don't side 100% with them, because they see how obsessed and desperate they are. 😂

It is great that China has been thoughtful enough to take control of rare earth mineral refining. It takes approximately 4000 kg of vital refined rare earth minerals to make a Virginia class submarine so in effect the US has a joint naval program with China. Better to co-operate than be at war with one another.

China has beaten the US hands down on manufacturing. US companies just wanted things made as cheap as possible and were happy to have things made in China and reap the profits. However China has moved on and has the most advanced manufacturing factories in the world and produce things of the highest quality. The only response from the US was to attack China. This resulted in China setting up factories in Mexico and Vietnam to avoid tariffs. The false propaganda spread by the US about the treatment in China of the Uyghurs also backfired and hurt Germany, one of the US's supposed allies forcing them to close down factories. At every turn the US has lost badly.
