Zig Zag Railway - Drivers View
8 August 2020 - The blood, sweat and tears from our volunteers makes it all worthwhile being able to see this view again from the drivers seat, I think you’ll agree it’s the best!
This short compilation illustrates the limited visibility of our drivers. A reminder for Rail Safety week, visitors to the Zig Zag Railway reserve are always asked to remain clear of the rail line as locomotives and track maintenance vehicles may be operating on the railway at any time.

Golden Bolt Ceremony at Zig Zag Railway
Просмотров 5815 лет назад
An impromptu Golden Bolt ceremony was held at Zig Zag Railway on Saturday, 8th June 2019 to mark the re-joining of the line once again from Bottom Points to Clarence. The embankment on which this section of the line sits needed to be repaired due to a wash away in 2012, see this video for info on the repair works: ruclips.net/video/cMY3taRUVe4/видео.html

Lea Wilson and her team visited Zig Zag Railway to find out why our Day out with Thomas weekend attracts so many thousands of passengers each school holidays. Unfortunately Thomas was feeling a bit ill the morning that Lea and her film crew attended, but we are happy to say that he has been feeling much better since. At last count we offer the Children the following activities at our events: A ...

They’re still there they just need to be restored

I want to see more. I’m just months away from returning to my childhood.

woohoo! 100th sub!
Are there any more videos planned for the near future? I would love to see 218 running on the tracks again.
I am so glad to see the trains back on track!
Great video, any more videos in the near future?
Awesome to see them running on the tracks again!
This is quite a far fetched idea but I would personally like to see DD17 1046 returned to service, it was the last in QGR service and was the first locomotive to run on the Zig Zag railway in 1975. I understand that it was retired in 1983 due to frame cracking and that the frame was repaired by skillswest in the mid 90s although the overhaul was cancelled soon afterwards. Of course the first priority is to return to service but once services are restored and a constant stream of income is established could that be considered? Were the parts stored at Edgecombe damaged in the recent fires? (frame, rear cab)
facebook.com/190868741038933/posts/2477265939065857/ unfortunately there was major damage to them (But I don't know about the parts of 1046)
Awesome. The Zig Zag Railway will always be a part of my childhood.
Got here so early just to see the AMAZING Zig Zag again from the tracks!
Looking forward to the railway opening again soon
