I didn't show his habitat. It's quite nice and he has a mate who had chosen the same sort of spot to sleep on the other side but I understand your perspective.

He chose that spot for his nap. His mate chose the same spot on the opposite side of their habitat which is very nice. I just didn't take a picture of it because people usually find it boring. Why are they here? I guess to educate the children on things they won't get to see irl otherwise. It was a large, well done children's zoo. I don't think he has an unhappy life but you'd be right that I don't know for sure.

His mate was on the other side of the habitat. They eere both napping.

I have lived here 30 years and never so much have heard of a sighting but grew up on the East Coast where they were common place. They would cross in front of us on the road. We aren't a heavily forested state so that is why I was surprised. 🧡

The plants in the front of the garden are strawberries! He doesn't eat those. He just mulls around in those. There's also parsley and spinach in the garden which he does eat. :)

Mmmm. The area they have is as large as a normal expanse for a gorilla family in the wild. They aren't hunted and seem content if that helps.

Maybe you can't tell here but he seemed happy. They are pretty far from people and he had other hyena friends and a large area. He was sort of stalking me then feeling me out. Most of them just ignored the visitors. They defintely seemed well cared for. Thank you for loving animals. ❤

They are usually active dawn to dusk so in this scenario probably 15-20 miles. Would be kind of cool if a track could be set up around the whole zoo. They can run up to 37mph when hunting. 👐💞
