What is the best Lightweight dual sport Motorcycle and why I sold my Honda CRF250L.
Просмотров 25 тыс.2 месяца назад
After 4 years on a Dual sport Honda CRF250L, I sold it because it was not fun anymore, but the Kl300 or the Drz400 or even the Wr250R would have not changed my decision!

My Channel got hacked, and I was not able to get it back, Vegas RoManiac is lost forever. It's time to pick up the pieces and look into the future, whatever that future might be. You can help tremendously if you would be my First subscriber !
Do you think Suzuki bobbled the bag by not making the drz4s and sm not have 6 gears?
Please! Don't Change your perspective! Riding is meant to be fun and energizing. Your wisdom and experience and attention to detail, Are!!! So!!! Refreshing!!!
Hey man, 2007 KLX with a 351 big bore kit and pumper here. Compromises yes... But what a great, cheap, reliable bike. And it does 3rd gear power wheelies 😊
bummer that all those yz250fx vids are gone, I had hours into those so much good content. You still bring a smile... we will come back buddy one at a time
KPX250 Dual Sport Deal ? I think if I was getting into dual sports or like Myself moving back down in wieght because of age . And not mechanical inclined so wanted a new bike for " half the cost " of CRF300L The KPX250 is the right choice. Quality components Updated technology. Reliable. Great Warranty. The KPX250 Out The Door $3000. US CRF300L $7000. plus US The savings of $4000. US. WOW !!!!! In Canada the KPX250 is $4633. Can. And the CRF300L is $8500. Can. WOW!!!!!. Almost$4000. In savings This Can now be spent on new tires , wind protection , hand guards , crash bars . A Bag or saddle bags . Protective Gear etc. It really is a smart choice especially in the upper USA and Canada where liquid cooling is not as important. A oil cooler is easy to installed Because of cooler overall temperatures . Air cooled is fine with oil cooler . Now naysayers of China can keep thier options until they compare these bikes side by side . minimum overall deference , it a close copy. Remembering you can almost buy 2 KPX for 1 CRF Maybe better bearings , a better chain after a year , add some bar risers , some higher quality matching Allen bolts . Easy stuff . No-Brainer Seriously .
All the people complaining about how the bike is a "miss" based on paper stats and no one has ever even ridden one yet, let alone breathed on it. Yes, I wanted a 6-speed. I am willing to at least reserve judgment until people can actually ride it and give a review based on hands on experience instead of being impulsive and drawing conclusions. Not directed at any one in particular nor this channel. But I see similar comments in other overviews as well. I laugh because I am thinking, at least park your ass on it before making a snap judgement based on perceptions and not experience even if that experience is through someone else's hands on.
There are things I like and dislike about every bike...
its cool and all but im short and its taller and heavier (really short) so overall im disappointed because idk if woudve fit on drz anyways but i sure as hell wont fit on one
Nice flag behind you......🫱😁🥃
For me my xr650l is the most reliable, most well rounded bike out there.
19:40 "Dumb carburetor" is a very good term! Ethanol in fuel has caused me to rebuilt my dumb carburetor 3 times.
The ability to ride high elevation places like around Silverton, Colorado is why I want EFI. My current DRZ is jetted in such a way that it basically is unrideable above 9,000' elevation.
I have a deposit on a 4S. ABS in the dirt will be a new experience me. I had a T7 but I didn't ride it enough to gain any experience with ABS in the dirt.
And those are not apples to apples bikes. I think you will gain far experience more quickly on the new DR-Z4S than the T7.
I debated and debated adventure bike or dual sport. I have had many sport bikes, a few cruisers, and a few older dual sport and enduros. I love my CRF300L. I can jump on it and go to the store, or down some gravel roads to the lake and trails. It is light enough to use a hitch carrier and easily haul it long distance to go sight seeing on the bike getting near 70mpg. Ride for a few days and load up and return home in comfort on the highway. I don't think it will ever get old. Sure I love to go fast on a sport bike, or carry a friend on a cruiser. but that is coming fewer and just me going for a ride taking it easy or head off to a new location to ride, this is why I have the CRF300L. Love my Ninja too. LOL. if I could only have one, CRF300L is a keeper.
Time to get real job
Yikes went from 15k subscribers to 500 !! It’s like getting pay cut ,
good video but, - the chassis is not aluminum, the rear part itself, -developing a new transmission is expensive, so if the old model has experienced success before, it will probably continue to sell well now, -ABS is compliance with EU law, - the suspension will probably be ok, - graphics and colors are a disaster
I went into a dealership to look at the new Royal Enfield Himalayan, and the place was packed with bikes that they can't sell. 3 years of inventory!
Great video, good honest points. What did you go for in the end?
Nice video Brother thanks ❤ I hope to buy a dr-z4s or drz-4sm this year. I live in Romania to.If price would be no more than 8k I'll be able to pay.
What about a school bus ? I seen some people turn them into tiny homes.
I'm sorry to hear your channel was hacked. I'm glad to hear from you again. I wondered what happened to you.
Awesome video, now I’m going to sell all my bikes buy a van and my electric bike with fat tires should suffice. 😊
Been looking for my 1st bike the last few months and can't decide on the CRF300 Rally or wait for this new one. Or just get a KLR-650. My main concern is fuel capacity on the drz's and would probably slap a 3.9 gal tank on it right away. Idk yet, still have some time to decide.
"Friends don't let friends buy a KLR650!" 🤣
Suzuki needs to produce a Rally option for the DR-Z4S. Its primary competition will be the Honda CRF-300 Rally and the 450cc light adventure bikes that are currently or soon to be on the market. Minimum requirements would be a fairing or windshield and a 4-gallon fuel tank. I had a DR-Z400S on which I installed a large, 7+ gallon Safari tank. The luxury of not worrying about fuel made every adventure so much better. It didn't matter where I went, I knew I would find fuel before I ever needed it.
Great idea, it would be a no-brainer buying that vs a Honda CRF300 Rally!
This is what a lot of owners turn their bikes into anyways. Would be cool
The problem with the DR-Z400S transmission wasn't that it had a 5-speed gearbox, it was that it had a 5-speed narrow ratio gearbox. The DR-Z4S reportedly has a 5-speed wide ratio gearbox. If fifth gear matches the sixth gear of a 6-speed gearbox, then the only difference will be the number of steps between. How low or high you want to go will be determined by your choice of sprockets.
I have Beta alp 200. It has 5 gears, but on 1st I can go as slow as 6 km/h. And on the road in 5th top speed is 110 km/h.
EFI is more reliable than a carburetor. However, if something does go wrong, EFI is harder and more expensive to fix.
I’ve recently bought a new 300l and for someone who isn’t into extreme off road jumps it’s perfect as I can ride wherever I want on road and if I see a trail heading of somewhere then I can take that route and go discover places I wouldn’t of seen before, and because of the soft suspension I can nail it on rutted trails no problem especially if out of the saddle 😊
Get a box van and a dr 350 or a xr 400 with a street legele kit. I love mine Dr 350
I got a Dr 350 that Iove check it out.
A new kind of dual sport bikes is born with the Cfmoto 450 MT. Dispite of the weight (190kg) it's a fresh take on dual sporting for sure.
Honestly the biggest factor in whether a bike makes it through a trail easily is the rider. Yes certain machines make it easier but if you can ride well and pick the right line. You can do almost anything on a dual sport that you can do on a dirt bike (big jumps aside)
Dude you nailed my moto life 😂 You're going exactly where i was. I now use a van (or sometimes my truck) and carry a bike. BUT I NOW RIDE AN ELECTRIC MOTO because maintenance is soooo much easier, and my van doesn't smell like gasoline.
HUGE Opportunity missed. Don’t get me wrong decent bike, but just not enough these days.
I can appreciate your thoughts, but don't draw conclusions so quickly based on paper stats. At least wait until there are a few hands on reviews.
Slow, heavy, and very little as far as improvements. I’m good with my comment. I bought a 2023 Rmz 450 and completely tricked it out because it was by far the best deal for the money. $6500 OTD.
I built a sprinter moto van. Perfect option to pursue your next adventuress.
Want .. so want
Are you living under a rock?
Yes .. stop shaming me
@VegasRoManiac lol I don't blame you
As soon as your subscribers hear about this they will come back! I'm here😁
Very happy to have you back, I'm really working really hard to get a thousand subscribers
Glad to see you back, Just found out what happened from Donnie helms... looking forward to more of your videos.
Thanks for coming back man ... And thank you and Donnie for posting this message
Hey. You helped me purchase the YZ250FX because of your extensive knowledge of the bike. Now help me find a good and affordable off-road ebike. ?
I think the market is uncertain yet so I wouldn't go and get any of them yet, but the surron ultra bee looks pretty good for the money
It's all about the ride. ❤
Sure is
I went to e-mtn bike after seeing your switch to the sur-ron. Totally different fun and I could see getting a talaria or similar in the future. Small ds for adv camping, just getting to old for heavy adv bike.
Ohh , I see you still do moto camping on the ds?
Can’t wait to see you make this lemonade you’re talking about and add plenty of sugar 🎉🎉🎉
It will be lemonade ☺️
I've got a KTM 450 EXC-F and a DR-Z400S. Both are good, though I use them for different type of riding.
Great bikes both
18 year DRZ owner and I've never come close to getting burned by the exhaust. At least the head pipe is tucked in better and has a heat shield up front unlike my KTM 450 EXC-F, which wrecked a pair of my riding pants (it melted them)
I'm happy to hear that
A lot of the subframe is the same, but parts of it have been changed, which I discussed in a video I made a few weeks ago on my channel.
I think KTM 690, Husky 701 is as best you can get. Problem with EXC500, 501 is that you need engine rebuild every 3K miles or so (some might say even less). I had 6 KTM 690s and all of them lasted me over 10k miles with no issues, just regular oil changes.
The KTM 690 has some major problems with the engine, something with the cams that they never really redesigned and fixed. Plus KTM is about to go get bankrupt so I'm not sure if KTM is a good choice
buy a car mate, stop complaining.
I'm buying a van with a motorcycle in the back
Re-subscribed!
Thanks!
You did not try hard enough brother iv built one and now the kids are grown I'm about to build another one
As long as you don't with your smile omg your face that's all that matters .. I envy you and the fun you're gonna have
I rode my 83 dt125 dual sport for 30 years I loved it so much I was looking for a dt200 dual sport to buy but every time I see one by the time I get to it it's gone. I love the fact that on the way home from work I can just hit the trails no screwing around with trailers or Mixing gas
Old school bikes were different ...
