Doe Harvest Goes Terribly Wrong
Got ourselves and Indiana Public Land Doe! This is technically my first Indiana Public Land Doe. I was not able to celebrate like I would have liked. This harvest in particular was pretty odd. It appeared to be a perfect shot and deer go down within 60yrds, but little did I know the deer was only bedded. They are incredibly tough creatures! Thanks for watching!

congratulations !😁😁3 minutes where the tools you use are fun! Is it to attract animals? For four minutes, the forest here looks like a scene from Twilight
Something about that spot man I just love it.
Got lots of deer in there
How you climbing tree?
I one stick
@@TheHunter46176 for sure, do you climb in the dark it wait for first light?
@benclark5373 yeah. I use s headlamp on red or green but yeah.
Congrats man maybe you should hire a camera man 😂
One of these days......Maybe lol.
I'm Always looking forward to you updating "The I'm Always looking forward to you updating "The Hunter"Series viedo! This video reminds me of a Mayan hunter movie I saw,Clever and brave😁😁
It was a fun weekend and hunt. I think your in the better spot now lol
We will see 🤘🏼
The title said something about hunting. All I saw was a guy in a tree stand ambushing
I get busted on the ground every single time. Im not as slick as our ancestors once were thats for sure.
@@TheHunter46176 just busting your chops, man, I hunt on the ground walking around and scare nine out of 10 and I mess up while I’m in a stand all the time lol, got back into hunting taking about 15 years off since my 20s those deer don’t know what’s about to hit/miss them lol
@Camorockers. Im on a beautiful oak ridge at the moment about 30ft up lol.
@@TheHunter46176 30 feet you up there hunting monkeys, lol
Sorry that you missed that deer what broadheads are you using with that crossbow ?
G5 montec
Heck shot my first deer of the season looking up at me fooling around with my arrow that the knock came off when I drew the bow back the deer let me get the arrow back together and let me draw the bow back while looking at me lol
I was surprised how much those deer tolerated. They knew I was there and wanted a closer look, but I was not able to move. They both turned their head and I figured its now or never. When I grunted that deer stopped dead broadside at 35yrd. For some reason I thought it was at 50.
I've hunted on the ground since I began bohunting. This is my 48th season. It can be exhilarating one moment and frustrating the next. The more experienced you get from hunting on the ground, the more confident you will become if you need to set up at ground level. Have a fun season, and good luck.
48 seasons? Wow! Thats pretty cool. I was in a bad setup and knew it from the get go. It was a quick after work hunt. I figured screw it lets see what happens. If I wouldnt have over estimated my shot I would have nailed that doe. I grunted and it locked up perfect broadside.
@TheHunter46176 at least you are willing to adjust based on your situation. That is a big plus, and I could tell you learned something from the hunt. You have to learn how to blend in the best you can. Keep after them it will happen.
@EdwardHans-eb2xx sure did! Have you ever used a leafy suit?
@TheHunter46176 No, I haven't. Was always concerned about string interference. But have friends that have.
@EdwardHans-eb2xx Im gonna try one some day
i use a bog deathgrip tripod from ground hunting with a firearm or crossgun. Makes it super easy when you have the weapon in the ready position.
Yeah I saw Death By Bungie use once one. 100% need one for my Daughter.
@@TheHunter46176 yup my youth hunters are 8/8 with it, 2/2 this last weekend here in NY
Found oaks that are being tore up yesterday when scouting, but could not find a tree to climb. Going in this afternoon on the ground. That is an up close and personal view of a deer, got to love the thrill.
It sure does get the ol heart pumping lol
Great footage! Always tricky from the ground. Good luck the rest of the season, we'll be following along with the hunts!
Vaca starts monday and goes to Nov 5th. Im gonna be hitting it hard.
Bro gonna have a heart attack lmao 🤣. Keep up the grind💪🤘
Killed my biggest buck at 4 steps from the ground. It's all about set-up and the wind.
I agree. My setup was less than ideal
I found were the buck was using from pines into hardwoods and days before I intended to hunt, used tree branches, old dead wood and pine needles to make a natural looking blind. All natural from that specific spot. 30 yards from the pines with my back to a huge oak tree.......Shot him at 7:15am the 1st sit.@TheHunter46176
Depending on the area. Here in the swamp, forget it! You cant move without making crazy noise
@@mikepraed4623 I think I need a ghillie suit for ground hunting lol. Ive never really hunted swamps. Agg and hardwoods mostly.
I hate hunting on the ground. They had you pegged
Yeah me too. Got some real good footage though.
Nice viedo! haha😃😃 An interesting and long wait!I felt so surprised when the animals appeared!because i've never seen the real hunt process😃😃
They come out of nowhere sometimes
Yup, ground hunting is as tough!
Sure is man
Agreed!
Yeah, ground hunting is not on the top of my list, but it can be useful at times. When I don't bring a ground blind and I just want to keep it lite and mobile. I bring a camo net. Crazy cheap on Amazon, and they pack super small. The one I use is like 4.9ft by 6.5ft for solo hunts, I also bought a bigger 16ft one for two people. I got the desert digital camo, which blends in well with fall leaves. I attached some clips with bungee cords to them to make it easy to attach it to near-by branches. There's a bunch of camo net on Amazon, but the one I use is from a brand called "iunio". I hope this helps. I like your idea of using the one stick as a chair for ground hunting.
Ive got some cheap camo netting. I just didnt bring it. I was just very unprepared. I was sure Id be in a tree. 🤷🏼♂️
She seemed disappointed it wasn't a larger buck...but this was a good start. Larger game is just around the corner, I'm sure!
@@Hoary-c7y no not bummed at all. I think maybe concerned it counted as her buck tag at first or that shooting a buck that small was a "bad" thing. I explained eveything and how its just super hard to tell when that are that small and it just happens sometimes.
Congratulations on your first buck! Awesome way to start the season count.
She was very excited
Hi. I’m trying to decide between the mad rock safeguard or the Kong duck. I don’t one stick I just hunt out of a fixed stand or use a self climber and I use a rock climbing harness. Instead of using a prusik I’d like to use of of these other devices in my tether while in stand and lineman belt while setting fixed stands. Which one would you suggest for my situation? Ty
If not rappelling id say kong duck
@@TheHunter46176. Excellent Ty. 👍🏻
@christopherd7922 no problem
Man It's really hard to pull down my lever once repelling down the tree for me.... enough to the point where it hurts my fingers, is that not normal??? I am on the heavier side @ 230-240lbs. so maybe that could have something to do with it. I almost have to be in an upright position to even get the lever to pull completely down...
I would say either you have the madrock to far away from you ( shorten bridge to keep madrock closer to you. Chest or belly height.. Then make sure your not pulling the tail end of the rope. Just hold it behind you dont pull.
@@TheHunter46176 I will def. check those things to see if that makes it easier. it's possible i was putting too much pressure on the tag end.... I Appreciate it Brother!!!
@tylerelkins9619 NP hope it helps
Perfect explanation. What size rope is the hollow block? Same as other rope, smaller? Knot used for tying hollow block?
Its a 6.8mm hollowblock. Its a sewn loop you dont tie it.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Step by step girl over here. You don't know how helpful this was!!
They can be a pain. If my buckle fell off Id have to rewatch this video lol. Thanks for watching.

@@TheHunter46176 awesome glad to hear w
Congratulations
Thanks she was pretty pumped
She had a great shot placement! Great job young lady!!
Straight through the heart. I was super impressed.
What if there are branches midway up the tree?
The way the setup works your pulling the knot end down. The tail end has no knots so it slides over the branches.
A little later to find this but thanks for the great video! Saw Zach with this setup on THP couple years ago and thought it looked pretty slick. Finally got my saddle stuff together ahead of season this year so looking forward to trying it!
Yeah thats who I got the idea from
Love the video! Please be careful with fingers under your weight baring lines, I have seen a few degloved hands in the Operating room, not an easy recovery!
Yeah that has always been one thing that I try to watch out for! I need to get the TAU from innovating the outdoors. That would solve the issue. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much

Is that a yes or no? I’m new and i don’t know how this works. Thanks
Yes you can
Can you put inside your coat or jacket to keep warm?
I do quite often. My jacket has a chest pocket that sits right over my heart. I just put it in there. Could always wear it on a lanyard around your neck let it hang inside your clothes.
I love the idea, and Kudos. Other than the fun of repelling, it seems like I could install 4 sticks in the same amount of time. Whatever works, though, if I was 20 years younger, I think I would try it.
You so serious as you do that!
Im focused lol. Plus only got 1 shot lol.

Thanks for the review mate. I am kindda a bit confused to buy either OCOOPA U3 pro or UT4 . Any suggestions?
Depends on what you plan to use it for? My personal opinion is get the UT4 pro. Lasts a long time, and fast charge.
@@TheHunter46176 everyday use. How's the ergonomic? I've read it's hefty and uncomfortable to hold. Is it true ?
@Sammmy1991 honestly everyday ergonomic use. UT3 pro. If you have no use for the flashlight or dont need extreme heat mode. UT3 pro is very slim and ergonomic.
I've smoked marijuana in my ground blind and it has never affected the deer. I've had a doe and 2 fawns come within 10-15 yds of my blind after taking a few hits.
I believe it
Strong work!
It's absolutely amazing to me that none of the big treestand companies have not done this. It's really a needed addition to the saddle hunting world. I had heard XOP was going to do this a year or two ago but for some reason they scrapped the idea. I recently purchased a Panther quick climb and it is great! I'm really looking forward to using it this season
I tried it once with a climber bottom. It was a disaster lol. Broadside made it perfect and designed around all the headaches. It was an awesome product.
Did Pitboss recently add 5 degree increments? Mine only goes in 10 degree increments.
Not sure. My smaller one goes in like 25's
Great video man thanks for posting it. Ive been saddle hunting now for two years and im.hooked. I'm 50 now and tried the one stick and I'm hooked. I went one EW site and was a little confused at all the options. If i wantws thw set up you have is all i have to select is the aider and pouch and thw rest is as you see it? My total the way i did it cam to 404 seem right?
Yeah that sounds about right. I picked the ultimate one stick. Angled UP and ultimate lower step. Mine is the 12in version. Thanks for watching!
