Samsung washer suspension rod repair-refurbish, The real fix!!!!!
Просмотров 4,3 тыс.3 месяца назад
In this video I touchdown on Samsung washer, suspension rod repair-refurbish procedure. If done properly, this is a long lasting fix. That’s very affordable compared to replacing OEM rods. Dampening grease can be found at Ben’s appliances website: bens-appliances.com
Dryer timer not advancing? Repair! Save$$$$$
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.3 месяца назад
In this video, I explain why your whirlpool based dryer timer is no longer advancing. I also explain how to fix it at a super low cost, save money and simply learn something new.
So I guess adding an extra spring would not help something like a 2 inch spring on top of the existing one ?
After watching many videos this one seamed to make the most sence so I decided to give it a try. I had allready tried just adding silicone grease not knowing it was to thin and olny made it worse. So I removed the rods disassambled them and removed all the old grease with parts cleaner and a brush. Then I performed the repair as shown in the vedio using the foam pad and Bounce be gone grease. The washer is now back to new again. I think you or Bens should market the foam inserts and profit a little bit for your great veido.
Hello, Ben has sent me some prototype inserts that work fantastic. You can expect those in the near future.
Hey W/D, thanks for the very informative vid. My timer is advancing in all modes except the Auto Dry function so didn't think your solution would fix my issue but tried it anyway. As I suspected, the yellow motor magnet part was not broken so put it all back together. Rather than shell out money for a new timer we're just going to use the Timed Dry function. Would you have any other suggestions for a fix aside from a new timer? Thanks again for the help....Buzz Fluhart
It may just need a new timer, contacts may be too far gone. We may also want to clean the moisture bar inside the dryer with rubbing alcohol and rag. It may not detect humidity.
@@wddialedin Thanks again.
I noticed that you replaced the agitator on this machine. Any particular reason for that? The programming on these agipeller machines call for long agitation strokes and are not meant for an old school agitator with big fins like that. Just curious is all. Nice guide.
I really can’t remember since I repair so many washers all day long. Most likely the spines were stripped on the agitator.
I am planning on trying this. I cannot find damping grease? Can you substitute another kind? I have searched amazon, Walmart Canadian tire.
Google search Bens appliances. He sells a product called bounce B gone. Amazing stuff!
Finally! Someone that explained the real problem. Thank you!
I can't find the grease you're using.
You're welcome!
Terrific video, but your Audio is poor. Raise your mic. Level.
The video I was looking for!!
We need some more videos !! Maybe some ge washer videos!!! Maybe how to get a tub out of one I’m struggling with that right now 😅😅
Ahhhhhh great job explaining this man. I did my repair w the knock off Amazons before this but if/when they go out, I’m definitely doing this. I saved the OEM rods
Nice but not worth the money you trying to save
Depends on where you live. And how close the repairman is. And if all you have is $10 to spare. 😮 😢
I also like to disassemble parts to see how they actually work. Wonder how long we could expect this repair to work.
It's not a "dampening rod", it's a DAMPING ROD. A dampening rod would be a rod to get something wet.
It has two different meanings. To dampen can also be to make less strong or intense which is what these do, absorbing vibrations caused by the spin cycle.
thanks i’m gonna break open one of the old school timers without that connector and see if i can take that price and make it work on the newer i always like to see ways to refurbish with parts i already have
So we started using the dampening grease because it was way cheaper for our customers. We havent had a call back yet!!!!
My question after doing this 10 times… can u use a grease gun? It gets sooooooo sticky
It’s great stuff no doubt. Happy customers and pretty easy repair.
I’m sure a grease gun can be used if someone sold it in a tube. Good idea!
Heat or liquid nitrogen might aid in removal
If you’re gonna do a bunch of these, I would just go buy an airbrush paint set up from Harbor freight. Preferably the large paint spray pass
Probably more cost effective.
Simple green degreaser or any degreaser solution would probably work well. Large pack of microfiber cloths from Costco or Sam’s Club. I suppose if one is super nasty you could use a car wash Extendo brush. Overall, I wouldn’t paint any panel that you don’t need to unless you’re changing the color just masking off everything but the panel that needs paint. Dropped flop, plastic masking tape whatever
Magnetic bits are key
I would think that if you build a jig since you work on, so many of those, you might have a better time. Something basically that you can stabilize the inside and bottom if possible
That would be ideal, A pneumatic palm nailer actually really speeds up removal.
Appliance manufacturers companies are built around engineering calculated points of failure
Planned obsolescence. That thing might take flight if it had an actual ball bearing wow.
lol way to create an easily calculated failure point and charge near the cost to replace the whole appliance…. Planned obsolescence… and this is why we only sell appliance stocks. Send them all to zero -… otherwise fantastic repair video. Absolutely love it. God forbid they use an electronic timer nearing mid-late 1900s technology level… lol wtf
Have you come across suspension rods with rubber inbetween the top and bottom caps. Instead of foam inserts on Samsung washer
Yes! Those are aftermarket suspension rods. eBay Amazon stuff. You can cut the bottom portion of the rubber off and insert foam into the bore.
This is gold!
Oh yeah!
After a few from the chisel hammer slack off your jack tap the plate down rotate the wash plate to the opposite sides, spray with lubricant, tighten the jack then mini jack hammer again
Good idea!
Sweet repair G
Thanks Brother man!
❤
Debbie downers watch out! Lol
Hateful bunch let me tell you! lol
Another great video. Thanks brother.
Yes sir!
Are Samsung rods built the same and will this work?
Very similar, I have a Samsung rod video also.
Awesome video
Nice I'll be doing my first one tomorrow evening. I'm looking forward to it!
Awesome! Let me know how it goes.
@@wddialedin sadly the customer flaked on me so I had to reschedule for next week.
@@wddialedin well at it, I made up for the flaky customer yesterday and did two of them today and it worked great as I knew it would.
This place looks awesome
It’s very impressive.
Great video man. Thanks for sharing new ideas on this.
Glad I could share.
I install a part number from Whirlpool Suspensions and these work for 3 models and depending on the height of the drum I use the same old support or if I want the drum lower I use the support that comes with the new Whirlpool Suspensions.
Yes, done that before as well. But I simply refurbish Samsung and whirlpool rods now. So easy and cheap!
Good video. You’re a good guy. Such crappy plastic sh!t. My speed queen units will last almost forever.
Very true!
Nice job, I would love to find a way to pound the inner tub back down differently. But awesome!
It’s a tight squeeze but that what’s needed. I’m sure eventually there will be another method for getting basket down and snug.
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
I fix these timers all the time but never knew you could do this! Thank you and I can’t wait to try this fix 😊
Happy to help!
Great video brother!
Thanks for watching
We are definitely gonna try that at our shop! Thank you!
Please do!
What about the ones with the tall solid agitator that has the big tubs. Do you get them out the same way. Some come off and some don’t but I’ve not tried it doing your technique but I’ve got everything ready to do so.
They also come off the same way. Let me know how it works for you.
Excellent information!
Glad you benefited from it.
Great video!!
Thanks for the visit
Wow, I have never seen anyone do it like this. Seems better than the airbag technique.
I believe so!
Good Technique G
Thanks
good video just too much rambling and repeating yourself.
Thanks for the feed back! Explaining the problem is crucial then the repair is executed. This is definitely valuable info to the masses I believe.
This wanker works for an appliance repair company or ownership of an appliance sales company lol
Good job.....
Thanks
Great content 💪
Appreciate it!
I love your watch. Is that vintage?
vintage, just like me 😂😂😂
