I have always loved the Levi’s 501s and here is a short story of my 2 pairs.
I have one in blue, but the problem with me is the width of the arms and arm holes. Just too tight for a 93kg man.
Same. Arms/shoulders were too small. I wanted it to work. It simply doesn't. I sized up and the fit didn't work anymore.
I have blue Levi’s 1 Type jackets same you😊
I bought a clone on poshmark for $10 . . . so you can literally get the utility of this $300 dollar item for 30 times less. I hope this helps.
is it Moleskin ?
Blue is the main color as those were actually called Bleu de travail. My grandfathers would not have been caught outside without one during the week. Those were mainly use to go and come back from work as well as for the beginning of the work day, once in full work mode they would be taken off as they would be too hot to work with. Good job on the prononciation of Mont saint Michel, neither of the Ts should be pronounced.
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Have you washed/dried the selvedge one and has it shrunk? Looking to get one, but wondering about the sizing
How tall are you
I just picked up a chore coat from Le Laboureur, another company that makes these traditional, French workwear things. It's not as old as companies like Le Mont St Michel or Vetra but they've been making workwear in France since the 50s which is well long enough to scratch that heritage itch. Plus the measurements on the website I got it from seemed to work for me and the price was right. My jacket is pretty roomy but when you do the hug test it gets a little tight. Which is weird because it is super roomy everywhere else.
i prefer le labourer as well haven't tried vetra. both of those are still made in france, mt st michel seems to be outsourced somewhere else in the eu using french fabric. it seems huckberry was rather delayed in changing the made in france designation. not everyone cares, id just lean towards something that stays authentic top to bottom.
i have a le laboureur jacket too and i really like it! Good for bigger guys and the pricing is a lot more favorable.
@@bobjohnson6321 Wow, I did not know they were not made it France. In terms of tradition it would be great if they were still made in France. Still somewhere in Europe is better than some sweatshop in China or Bangladesh. Bleu de Chauffe is a relatively recent company but they are also making good looking chore coats in France.
@@RSN1748 I found Le Laboureur on a few websites and the prices were all over the place but I got it for a decent price and I have been enjoying the jacket more than I thought I would. I kind of wonder if Le Mont St Michel hasn't slimmed up their cut for a more fashion forward garment but the measurements on their website would lead me to believe it's similar to Le Laboureur or Vetra.
@@cheddarbuttersworth2441 gardenheir is a great place to find a hearty selection of le labourer gear.
what product code please? black but which type black? raw denim?
Unfortunately this is not a raw denim jacket. It’s the relaxed fit trucker, I think the color at Levi’s is called “Superior Black”.
@@Doesitmatterrr If i don't want my denim to stretch or shrink overtime... raw denim should be avoided?
@@lamiafarjana1990 I generally avoid washing my raw denim and when I do, it does shrink a little … but what I have noticed is that when I wear it after washing, it stretches out over a period of time again. But a little shrinking is unavoidable. I am not a denim expert but that what most people say.
Very good and informative video👍👍
Thank you, appreciate your kind words.
Dows it still stink? I just bought one and it stinks. Like metal and candle wax. My wife dont want it hanging inside.
I think it does a little … but it’s mild.
Is it fake if the revet are silvered?
I am not sure about this but I will try to get you an answer.
Not necessarily. There are ones with silver buttons too. Search in RUclips how to spot fake ones. If back side of buttons have no engraving, it's fake.
Have you got any fades with the selvedge jacket?
Unfortunately I did not wear this enough 😞 San Francisco Bay Area is perpetually hot, but specially the South Bay 😃. But I do plan to wear this jacket a lot this Fall/Winter. Hopefully, I will have something to share with you in a few months.
Did you have issues with the sulfur smell? I recently bought one and i'm having no luck getting rid of the smell
Not this one.
Nice review, you might move the other objects off of the table, though.
Noted!
I enjoyed your review! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much, I appreciate your kind words.
You're lucky to have 80 views!! Turned off after 1 minute. Try to make more informative reviews and do you're homework or quit making reviews. Flint and Tinder is the other jacket your referencing.
Fair enough.
There are always critiques
@@skunktrainfishing7573 thank you for your support, I know I am not the best but hopefully I will try and improve.
Quit making comments maybe?
@@Doesitmatterrr like the review myself!
There's 3 types of designs. Type 1, type 2, and type 3. I recommend type 3, its Morden, slim fit, and comes with 4 pockets.
The sherpa one looks dope, wouldn't mind one of those. I bought the indigo hemp selvedge one around the end of 2022 and wear it A LOT (more so these days than when I first bought it). Looking great, and there's just something about the material that feels really nice. The drape looks good, like when you wiggle the material. Simple thing but I love it.
agree
yes, very dope , but over time the white fur will turn black due to sweat or something else, it's better to choose black
One of the N&F employees said that they dropped the button tab adjusters to try and keep costs down and that most of their customers didn't use them anyway. I have the Unbranded Denim Jacket but I would love to get either the left hand twill jacket or some sort of black or midnight type III from N&F. But you know, if you own too many denim jackets none of them ever fade.
:) agree, i know, i need to start focusing on one of them. but about the cost thing you mentioned, how much are they saving on those tabs i wonder :) given that they charge so much for their jackets
@@Doesitmatterrr As I understood it leaving the tab adjusters off was more of a matter of trying to find ways to not raise the price when the cost of materials goes up. Outside of that I don’t really know how much they are saving by taking them off. I have their left hand twill jeans and I really like the fades they have developed.
