    • @johnd7215
      @johnd7215 Год назад

      A lot depends on the bow's center shot and actual weight on your fingers at full draw but a 29" 500 is going to be a pretty stiff arrow at your draw weight. I would not be wading in the waters of 500 spine unless i was shooting at least upper 40# weight range. Like over 45# and you would still need a very decent amount of point weight. I'm talking over 200 grains total. You should consider 600 spine for sure.

  • @Cuisinenomade1
    @Cuisinenomade1 Год назад

    It seems you have a lot of experience. I am looking to get my first compound bow and this bow appears like the cheapest option but is it good? I know in your hands looks good but you are a good archer, what about somebody without much experience?

  • @Cuisinenomade1
    @Cuisinenomade1 Год назад

    Does shaft length related to draw weight affect the spine of the arrow? Meaning if a 600 spine arrow, cut at 29", works for a 35 pound bow, would it work the same as for a 30 inch shaft? Or would this make the arrow weaker thus having to go to a 500 spine for longer shafts?

    • @vai6439
      @vai6439 Год назад

      The length of the arrow affects the spine. But 1 inch can be adjusted by the weight of an arrowhead.

      @@vai6439 I have a 35#, similar to yours and my draw length is 29", the arrows I have are 500 spine, they are 31.5" long, they are a little too long for my draw length, according to youtubers, but if I cut it I am afraid it will get to stiff, or would I be able to manage by adding tip weight?

    • @vai6439
      @vai6439 Год назад

      @@Cuisinenomade1 500sp is hard. Adjust the weight of the arrowhead at 600sp.

    • @johnd7215
      @johnd7215 Год назад

      Spine deflection is measured at 28" for carbon arrows so a 600 spine arrow at 29", 30", 31" etc will be progressively weaker. I can make use of 600 spine arrows in most of my bows from 30# up to 42# if I shorten them and change point weight. This works well for me as I have a 27.5"draw length but obviously won't work as well for longer draws.
