@wonracer yes john deeres are good but hte price of them lets them down. and case are actually very good tractors

@Willo6247 Its not just the weight but the pressure as well, I agree with you that when on a clamp you should never have duels on as the weight is spread to much and not enough pressure is inplace to roll the clamp sufficently to get all of the air out

The more weight on the machine the better, cuz it packs the silage better.

on the farm i work we use a jd 7930 to roll the silage in the pit

I bet john Deere has a better spray then both of them but I bet those can put more silage through in an hour

I drove one of these rare beasts we had it for 5 yrs and yes it had some guts and did about 45k but when you plough and press with with the pile of shite you get to hate the tractor with a passion!!! We got a mx 170 instead now thats what you call a beast and its comfy to drive not like the awful 1455xl's!!!!

The reason for a big tractor is that the heavier the tractor, the better rolled your silage is. If you roll with a small tractor you wont get all the air out of pit and you will get mould in it.
