      That tank-mounted original Atwood mixer is generally only used on those 16's that really stretch 10 gallons to 16 by overheating the water to a higher thermostat temp, and then mixing it down so you use less. Find out which furnace you have and then track down the design.

    • @RVshopandchef-Fun
      @RVshopandchef-Fun Месяц назад

      yes! Apologies for the delay responding we have been two months in Wyoming, Utah and Colorado. Start with your fuel pump and pickup in the gas tank. Drain the tank and fill partial with new fuel and check fuel pressure up on the engine by removing the fuel line from the tank up at the engine. It has a filter in the tank itself (I think) and then an inline filter about halfway down the drivers frame rail. I think this pump has fairly high pressure, like 80 PSI, so if you are not getting pressure it won't start. We had to go through a number of other parts up on the engine--like the mass air flow sensor and others. I will try to find any references if you are still working this project.

    Brilliant stuff! Just in the process of waiting for my new airbags to arrive - one of the old ones got punctured - so this is spot on for me. P32 chassis, but same setup. It'll be nice not to have to crawl under the motorhome to check the bag pressures, too 😅. Yes, I noticed your missing bushings 😂; I have broken 3 of the sway bar brackets now (always on the wheel end, not the centre) - Australian roads are somewhat unforgiving 😢 - and have been getting new ones made up for me from heavier steel as they break. Haven't lost any bushings yet. They're polyurethane, so I'm hoping they will last as long as I do.

      apologies for missing the question. Are we working on the Atwood 16? The normal Atwood mixer on the side of the heater was a chrome bullet design about 3-4 inches around and maybe 4 inches tall, mounted sideways. We replaced that because of its small screen strainers and tendency to clog.

      Good call, I agree that would be great- but we sold it quickly and started the video after the fact. The gauges were reliable, where we had challenges was developing power under load- we had to go through a number of sensors, and also replace the fuel pump and trace that pressure back up to the engine to ensure the issue wasn't fuel delivery.

Also restored the cooling plenum by putting a barrier made of auto carpet above the radiator to prevent recirculation of hot air. Restored the plywood floor in front of the radiator. replaces electric fan with aftermarket 120 watt fan ( it is triggered by freon pressure).
