I've watched hundreds of movies through the years and this one remains at the top of my list, not just as a classic western, but of any movie period. The choreography, the storyline, the scenery, and the intense scenes between Bronson and his adversaries are riveting. But what really captures the soul is the soundtrack which is incredibly spellbinding. It grips you from the opening scene and keeps you mesmerized all the way to the concluding scene. I can't put it into words, only to say that no other movie has matched the feelings I experience every time I watch it. I can't count the number of times I've seen it and I never get tired of it.

About as boring as the movie.

One of the strangest things I've found out about the film is that the music was written before the film was shot. They went out to dinner and Leone described the film in detail over a few bottles of wine. I'm not sure how long it took, but the wrote all of it before the film was shot, so Leone could actually listen to it, like in the opening shot after Bronson shoots the first gunfighters.
